After about 6 seconds there is the option to stop the ad. The obedience competitions are held in a ring in Hall 5, the agility, flyball HTM etc are in the Arena, which is the only ring that had live streaming.
-
The NEC where Crufts is held is not hot and stuffy, they have good air con throughout the halls where the breed rings are, some areas a little warmer, some cooler, but still not so hot a person can still walk around in a jumper. Even the BIS ring isn't warm, even under the lights - I have shown in that ring twice in breeders stakes finals which are just before they did the groups. The arena is also where they hold a lot of concerts, so they are used to that hall being well filled by lots of people and lighting. To answer a question from early in the thread (I haven't read it all so sorry if already answered) the RBOB can't compete instead of the disqualified BOB because 1. it would have been classed as a beaten dog! 2. they don't award RBOB just BD and BB and BP. The health checks for the 15 breeds which started at Crufts are to be done at every all breed and group champ show. Crufts was also the first show where exhibitors had to provide a tag for their crates to clearly show who owns the dog, so they can be contacted should the dog be in distress - this is for all shows from now on. The vets were selected from volunteers by the head of the BVA and the head of the KC - who just happens to be a vet and active exhibitor of border terriers.

I just worry about that sort of thing getting hung up on something or another pups jaws.

I've had a couple of family dogs have pyo and luckily caught in time to save them. I think a fair proportion of people with entire bitches have had at least one or 2 with pyo. Why do you say the bitch is to small to breed? She won't be to small to get pregnant.
-
depends on the size of pup, if they are big enough i find cat collars are good and nice and soft for pups, but mine need to be a few weeks old before they will fit! Good point about the ribbon, i'd never have thought about it slipping once knotted.
-
That was my litter. The bitch still has a bald spot on her chest about 1/2 inch square. I need to source some ribbons I think, for my next litter.
-
Did you due date include counting the 29th? Just thinking I wouldn't have, as i use one of those whelping charts!

I think that was stopped. Just to clarify. NEVER, has an ANKC White German Shepherd EVER been re-registered as a White Swiss Shepherd Dog overseas. Non ANKC (Unregistered) White Shepherds, have however, been exported & assessed against the standard & accepted for re-rego as a WSS in countries that have an open stud book. These indivdiual dogs can NOT be imported back into Australia as WSSD as they will not fulfil the pedigree requirement for re-registration of an imported dog with the ANKC. The new registration ruling deems it possible for the offspring to be imported to Australia and registered with the ANKC. A lot depends on how the o/s breed club registry running the open stud book records their pedigrees. The ANKC has to recognise all AKC / FCI pedigrees, even if the registries of the dogs in the background (ie three generations) are not recognised by the ANKC. Yes, that is what I was meaning, I didn't mean to export and then reimport the same dog just to get it registered!
-
isn't this similar to the WSS and white GSDs? ANKC white GSDs being sent abroad and being registered as WSS? Or is my memory failing on those conversations on here from awhile ago?

Shows Giving Sole Rights To Vendors - Why?
becks replied to teddywaddy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think it would be best to take this up with the noorat show secretaries who by the way have friendly personalities and have their hands FULL with making everyones weekend enjoyable also club business re vendors is just that club business , I so look forward to this weekend one of the best in Victoria GREAT 3 DAYS MEALS PROVIDED ROOMS AVAILABLE SO LIGHTEN UP SUNSHINE AND JUST ENJOY WEEKEND AND YOUR DOGS Lucky the show secretaries are nice as your reply is really NOT friendly or nice at all! Are you the other vendor that has a monopoly at the show? -
Coat Kings are sharpened on the inside of the teeth, so they do cut the coat, they are very similar to the matt breakers you can buy. If you want to thin out the coat density and length, you'd be better to just get a pair of thinning scissors.
-
The easy way is to get a pumice block (they sell them in horse suppliers) and use that to trap some hair between that and your thumb. It can also be used to rub over the coat in direction of growth. or you can put some chalk on your hands or use rubber gloves to give better grip on the hair

Try not feeding the BH for a few weeks and see if the problem goes away. Not all kibbles suit all dogs.
-
These days I really don't think the frequency of properly bathing a dog will have any affect on a healthy dog.
-
if you want to keep the dark colour, it is best to strip the long hair, just pull a few hairs at a time, keeping the skin tight. Clipping will encorage the hair to grow back as bad or worse then it is now, but if you are happy to regularly clip your dog short then it won't matter as the rich colour should still be seen when freshly clipped again. You can buy clippers and do this yourself, but save up and get a good set of clippers, cheap ones are a false economy and often pack up half way through - i have been asked to finish off a few dogs in this state!
-
i would suggest pet insureance for all the operations to remove inappropriate objects from the dogs stomach - then see if containment seems not so bad afterall!

All being well (and no more cock ups) I'm off tomorrow to go and collect my hopefully in whelp girl from the airport It's going to be a long day and i don't expect to be back until late (as I will be hitting the rush hour traffic for most of the way back)
