Dogs can NOT arrive in the UK as hand luggage, they have to arrive in a crate and they are transported from the airport to the Animal Reception center which is several miles away - here they are vet checked and paper work is checked thoroughly before the person collecting the dog is allowed to get the dog. There is a nice litter reception area with snack machine and magazines while you wait. Dogs coming from a non EU country require an agent to deal with the paperwork (they will not allow the dog to fly without an agent!!) and you have to wait about 5 hours to get the dog after it has arrived at the Animal Reception center. The staff are very nice there. When my girl flew in from Iceland she was very happy when she was brought out and 2 of the girls there asked me if I would leave her there for them! :)

The new question for this thread is on post 106 no need to answer the OP anymore!!

1. yes, it is good to say what sort of dog you are looking for (hobby wise) 2. yes it is a good idea to understand some titles eg if you are looking at a breed that has show lines and working lines, you need to know if you want the highly active working line or the more laid back and generally more glamorous (hairy) show line. Being able to recognise the titles in the pedigree will help to see what sort of background the litter has. 3. yes. i ask if people have a preference to sex and colour (if I have a litter with more then one colour), along with the type of temperament they are looking for, as there can be a big range within a breed.

One of my mini schnauzers had it, lasted about a week with her. Still no idea what caused it in her case as she was in a warm house

How To Keep Birds Away From His Food!
becks replied to kitkatswing's topic in General Dog Discussion
put his food in a treat ball so he only gets what he needs -
No, epilepsy isn't something minis are prone to, certainly no more then any other dog. It is a problem in the giants though

If you aren't keen on barkers, check the lines as some will be yappy no matter what. aS OTHER Said, great family dogs, enjoy games and training. learn things quickly - the good and the bad things they get away with once or twice! hard part is finding a groomer that knows how to groom them correctly. minis are the smallest of 3 sizes of schnauzer, coming from general farm working dogs. Giants have been used as gundogs, guard dogs, police dogs, compete in various dog sports etc and their temperament is very similar to the mini.

I have a giant and miniature schnauzers, so get the comment about are the minis the pups from the giant. There is a lady we see in the park who walks 2 afghans and 2 daxies and i am told now has a bulldog in the mix.

As someone who shows the non fashion colours, while you may not be winning every weekend and you will get some judges who blatently colour judge, it all just makes the wins you do have that much better

i have a purpose made roll that holds several pairs of scissors in individual slots. I also tend not to take expensive scissors to shows incase someone borrows them or they get dropped

\just checked my diary and it was monday next week they were due! So yes, bit of a surprise but she was big

Why make it into patties?? Mine get a variety of minces mixed with various veggies (i like to alter the mix and they also get fruit thrown in too) veg go into blender to pulverise them and spare gets frozen - both done to break down cell walls on the plants so the dog can digest them. additions include in various meals, eggs with shell crushed, cottage cheese, bio yoghurt, oily fish

Not long now! I think this will be the longest week, since the last week of my last girl's litter !!! If that makes any sense ... X-Ray Fri to see just how many she is cooking :) ... Do you think she will last that long? I had one that size who wan't due until sunday and found pups in her bed this morning! I sleep in the same room and she never made a sound!

We've been very quiet in here, how is everyones pups? Mine will start leaving home next week!! There is one going to a show home and one to a home that will do obedience trials - so exciting future ahead for the girls (i'm keeping the final girl for showing too)

I was shocked to when i collected my import from gatwick, they only asked my name and flight number, never asked for any ID. She was walked out separate to her crate which i was asked if i wanted to keep it - then had the job of trying to fit it into the car. Next time i will take a screw driver so i can break down the crate to fit into the car easier - luckily this one just fitted onto the front seat while dog was in my car crate in the back

in the uk we are not allowed to show a dog under its breeder. we can enter breed classes if they are judging other breeds at the show, if they are doing group and we get BOB then we would have to withdraw from further competition. i think this rule makes sense.

When they say lunch will end at a certain time, so you get your dog ready and they are very late starting back

Pups were 6 weeks old last sunday. I am keeping a bitch, another is going to someone who wants to start showing and i am busy twisting the arm of a friend to have one of the boys to show. In the purple collar is my girl Beanara Iceland Saga (no call name yet, any suggestions welcome!)
