Yes, I can understand you doing that, although I just go by how they feel when assessing 'weight' instead of what the scales say.
-
I've never weighed a bitch near her time to whelp, don't want to take them to the vets just to use their scales and the weight doesn't really matter at that point.
-
I've also had a surprise pup, others born early morning, then when putting them in the box that evening to travel to the vets for checks, there was an extra one in the whelping box, no idea when that one arrived

The shar pei with 'cropped ears' would that be the one with an ear folded backwards? All the others have normal enough ears for the breed on that video.

she seems to want barf foods, so have a look at that diet more - meat, organs (liver, kidney etc), meaty bones - chicken wings, carcass, lamb ribs etc plus some add veg

Sudden Blindness In Mini Schnauzer

Is retinal inflammation the diagnosis from an eye specialist or just your normal vet? Some good advice has been given. Assist from the background, so the dog learns to use their own judgement about how to proceed in their surroundings. Watch around dogs who don't know her, they can react in a negative way which could lead to fights. The more they learn to do for themselves, the more confidence they will get, as others have said, start with the home and garden and then progress to familiar walks. -
why would you get a hip score done AFTER breeding?
-
yes it can, just as it will with us. Dogs are usually better at not showing how poorly they feel though!
-
Question - do you actually have to own the breed to join a breed club? You are suggesting letting cross bred dog owners join these breed clubs but really what is to stop them joining now?
-
congratulations! She is lovely.

I just point out that it is the irresponsible dog owners (and irresponsible breeders out there) who cause the problem of most dogs being dumped (there are some valid reasons for rehoming, so I don't dump everyone in the same basket). Laying the blame on pedigree dog owners and breeders really is missing the mark.

nice gimmick, but i would rather just be able to read the details needed to get the dog home

My giants have the same play style as Dobes and I do have to watch where my minis are when the giants were of an age to get really into a game. An Aussie maybe tough but it doesn't stop them getting hurt by a large breed accidentally crushing it during play. I'm really not sure what breed to suggest as what would suit your daughter isn't neccesarily going to be a good match for living with the Dobes.

wow aussie vets are expensive! I paid under £150 for a spey, dental and 10 extractions (yes that figure shocked me!) and that includes fluids and meds.

If you have kept it inside all this time, I would imagine anything that was in there would have escaped by now! So would just give it a quick wipe down!

Nail Clipping Using The Scissor Style Ones
becks replied to Pawfect's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
top to bottom, otherwise the nail gets squeezed.crushed when done side to side. Make sure you have the clippers straight on and not at an angle which may then twist as you trim -
chinese whispers at their best!

How would it be updated if the breeder moves? This is only true for dogs who are sold in petshops which isn't very many these days.

I was told it was about right, enough difficulty to split up the totals but easy enough that everyone could have a good go at most of the answers. There's actually quite a few of these: Yorkshire, Australian Silky and English Toy Terriers (Toy Group); Boston and Tibetan Terriers (Non-Sporting/Utility Group); and Russian Black Terrier(Working Group). yup, well done!
