Can you post pictures? I am by no means an expert, but I think some tendon problems in front feet can be helped by diet/exercise? Like dogs being down in the pasterns.

I don't have any recent obedience stuff, may try to get some videod this long weekend. I have been having some success with not having the rewards on me and sending the dog to the reward instead I have also been trying rewarding with releasing to reward between my legs for the recall as suggested by dogdude. Took a while for him to get the idea, he kept trying to go around me to get the reward but he will do it now Will see if I can get some footage, need OH to help though.

I got it from Eddy in Sydney Terranik - I am sure you'll enjoy it - agility is heaps of fun!

I am not doing nose touch contacts for the seesaw but I am for A-Frame and Dogwalk. For seesaw I am doing 4 on, as that seems to work well with the banging on the end, he will hop on to 4 on position himself.

Not sure how long - depends on how often I practice, and how long I stay on the same step before moving on. It is heavy, so need OH to set it up for me, so only get to practice a couple of times a week. At the moment, deciding whether I need to get him more confident on this step running from the table along the seesaw before going on.

This is a really cool video of Bang Game
-
It was explained to me by Vickie Pretty cool way to teach it, it never occurred to me to teach it that way before.

Here are some videos of my seesaw work with Kaos using the seesaw I got for Christmas. We are getting there The Bang Game From a table along to the end of the seesaw

Thanks guys Probably won't enter as our contact obstacles are not confident enough yet. Will be fun to watch though!

Looking at the ADAA calender and the next one I am going to enter is in May and there is a game called Blackjack. Anyone know what this is and what it entails?

I have done lots of research and discussion on seesaws The general consensus is that you want it to meet competition specifications on size and tip/balance point so the dog does not get confused when on proper equipment. I ended up buying mine.

Difference Between Starters And Novice Agility?
Kavik replied to Heidii's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Having read your other thread I think I see your confusion! Novice Agility is a class in ANKC agility (and ADAC, but don't want to confuse you too much ) Starters is a class in ADAA. -

Agree with Luke - get the behaviour solid first, don't try to add the cue the first session. It takes patience and time :D -
What a looker! :D Yes big tongue you're right there! :D

Your session is too long Keep it short and upbeat and end when on a high note. Only a couple of minutes max. What are you using as a target? Have you done hand touches? -
Where abouts are you? There are plenty of Kelpie people on this forum Have you seen the Kelpie thread? http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...5&hl=kelpie

Hmmm tough one there. It could certainly be a physical problem/illness, only vets could tell you that What about stress though? When dogs get stressed they pant more. You said the dog gets scared of lots of little things, is this when he pants?

Would love to do more with Kaos in regards to herding, but hard to get to. Tried the ducks argument on OH - he wasn't impressed The people who have seen Kaos like what they see though From what I have seen he has a fair amount of eye. Haven't seen you around the forums recently, if I was in Melbourne I'd try and bring him to you

Thanks for the reply kelpiechick

Schutzhund Australia National Championship Tial
Kavik replied to MonElite's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Well Kelpies are not eligible to compete for one. Also I have trained Kaos in agility, not obedience, and some of the training does conflict. -
Ah, OK, gotcha now Still, might wait til I actually see someone do it before trying it I understand the other methods better.

Nah, Diesel told me he is too lazy and would rather be a couch potato I can't keep him 'up' long enough to compete with him -
Yes, that is what I thought. But what I want to know is how is the dog to know that? The dog doesn't know that you want them to go in the same direction all the time regardless of where you put the poles. Unless you always train in the same spot, and you teach them to always go north? Mostly they know where to go in relation to the equipment right? You don't throw the reward until the dog is going in the correct direction right? Or do you throw the reward first? ETA? Are you supposed to always train in the same spot then, always going in the same direction? Same part of yard?
