When I had my Akita and he was 9 week pup who was in all the time and I answered knock on door from ranger who said was a complaint about my constantly barking dog who had done one tiny bark that I had ever heard... Even as adult true to breed rarely let of a bark and you knew something was up when it happened! I told him it was impossible not my dog... He asked to see it as my little guy walked to the door he went 'oh' and asked me what sort of breed. I told him and he said they mostly are a terrible and aggressive breed and walked away...

Hang in there! I totally understand that it is not pleasant!!! It does depend on positioning on thumb... I know I haven't quite got it when she continues to bite me.. When I get it right it seems like she can't bite me and she will struggle and then try to pull away so I release... Did you look at the answer Nekhbet gave me with exactly how to do it? I'm unsure if you get immediate results... I didn't with mine.. It is like it took a bit to sink in . I know for me when things got nuts I'd walk away out of room and leave her and she hated that too! I know it is a difficult process and I have been teary too previously! I know it is something that littles do but maybe she is teething also??? I hope someone can help you further with it! I have read a lot of Nekhbet advice through the forums and she seems very respected perhaps you can contact?? I wish I could help more but I'd be guessing because I don't have that extensive knowledge and that's not helpful.... Pls keep updated

Yep I think that may be a good idea re kids next door to supervise! How big is pen as she is quite big? Can you confine to a larger part of house but still safely? Unsure re other issues... She probably is very pleased to see you and wants attention from you? Does she eventually chill out and laze around with you during the evening? Don't know I will leave that bit for those with more knowledge.. All dogs have diff personalities

Yep Sandra 777... Though I have been putting light pressure on bottom of mouth under tongue.. And jaw area.. She dosent seem to love it but it dosent hurt her either... Hopefully I am getting it right!

Hi...Sandra777 has some great points...I was trying everything too... Now it is just monotonous she bites we our thumb in and over it goes again! We are being very consistent with it as it is not a pleasant time nor do you want it to remain an issue obviously.. I have noticed that she is slowing down on the bites... Just today she started to do a gentle bite on my hand ( better then usual) but looked at me and thought better of it and ctually chilled for a moment or two for me to pat her! Still working on the first morning greeting where she bites and tries to drag your sock off... That is an immediate pick up and bck in bed! When I first started the thumb in mouth I was frustrated as she just keep repeating and so did I, however seems we had a little break through! I have a 13 week old staffy now... I lost my boy Akita 2 years ago... He was 12 always love and miss him!Good luck with it all

Hi I understand what you are going through... My new pup is in the throes of it. Nekhbet suggested to me in this same section recently to put your thumb under tongue of dog and press down ... Not sure how to duplicate exact words here but if you look at the puppy fangs help by me in puppy threads you will see it. I used to have an Akita... I was lucky I didn't have that issue with him! Thanks everyone for your comments...I have noted that it can either be normal or infection cause of colour... Spoke to vet nurse today who said it was normal for her going into puberty She is only 13 weeks ( is that normal) I have a vet appointment tomorrow so will have it looked at

Hi all... I feel very 'needy' at the moment with so many questions lately. This is the first time I have had a female pup. She is nearly 13 weeks and I have just started noticing a yellow/ pale green good mucous coming from genital area. I have noticed it a couple of times after she has wee. She seems happy and full of energy as usual but doing smaller wees than normal also? Is this an infection or normal unspayed discharge. Have vet appoint for needles on Wednesday... Should I take her sooner? Thanks in advance for any advice... Ps I mean gooey mucous not 'good'

Thanks Persephone and Jules.... Thanks for your comments and very true was a worrying time... Glad yours was okay after the zoomie accident... I get that the zoom can be quite frantic at times.... I tend to be a worrier over a lot... Obviously you want them to be healthy and happy! I've calmed down now and she is wandering around happily with no limp as if to say what injury... When my old boy was alive and he was a pup he was a huge dog but seemed to keep himself mostly out of trouble... My Bessie keeps me on my toes. Thanks for your kind thoughts appreciate it!

Good news so far... Vet thinks just possible sprain also felt that since worming has put on a lot of weight in the last week and will still be getting used to the extra beef... Said to watch her next few days.. Of course she is already running around like maniac! Huge relief... Hope it continues. Thanks

My pup is a Hoover mostly to the point of hiccups at times. Though sometimes she will have a sniff eat a bit walk off and then come back! She is a food reward girl already... She now does what she has learnt without asking and then sits there looking at you as if to say did you see that I'm awesome how good am I where's my treat

Thanks Persephone .... I do know about their fragility and do feel horrendous that don't grab her in time... She is such a bouncy and strong Staff already ! Vet opening shortly... She is starting to walk stronger on it now and not as limply but still taking her! Will let you know outcome....

Hi. Just wanted to vent and share my worry at the moment.... Been so long since had pup and I have a little girl in the wars. Just waiting for vet to open as she jumped off chair before we could grab her and she landed funny and is now limping. At first she wouldn't even put front leg down.. But is now limping.... She is in bed but crying cause wants to come out but want her to rest. She has just gotten over a nasty bout of roundworm and meds! Had shown no sign of them wormed as normal! My poor baby. Stressing her leg broken now?! I feel like the worst mum that this happened
