We all used to love it when he came to our public school with his trained pig!

He only just got married?? He must of got divorced, then married again?? I went to school with his daughter and spent a fair bit of time at their house. Bummer that he left Hanrob. I wanted to take Riley to his traning classes when I was going to try and get him into flyball, but instead I got some lady and I had quite a bad experience and never went back.

I agree with the others. Id be trying monthly and see how that goes.

I always make it warmer than what I actually want, so that by the time I transfer it to the other tank, and get the dog in the bath the water is just right. By the time I've finished washing the dog the water is still luke warm.

Ive got the conmurra twin tank autofill. I bought it several years ago . Only the left tank is heated. I generally heat my water up in that tank (the left one) then once its heated I transfer to the right tank. THen I refill the left tank, and whilst Im washing (using the right tank) the left tank's water is heating again so it will be ready for me to use for a rinse. I hope that makes sense. I personally didn't like the idea of built in dryers. I have mine seperate. Edited to add - After I wash Riley I still get hair flying everywhere when I dry him. I quite often take him out into the shed and just used the dryer on him to blow out loose hair.

Heres one to fiddle with

I found my out of bounds one. The rhino was a rush job and looks quite weird, but I like it.

How Do You Bath Your Large Dog?
wagsalot replied to Poodle wrangler's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
A DIY hydrobath opened near me recently and they were charging "from $15". If I didn't own a hydrobath, providing the DIY place disinfected after each dog Id be giving that a go. I personally like to wash my dog myself, rather than having someone else do it. Edited to add: The DIY hydrobath near me has dryers. -
I can't get my picture to post at a decent quality. stupid thing.

I use Preventic and when I first put it on Riley for about a week the smell is quite strong, but I can never really smell it after that. I don't know whether it stops smelling ,or whether I just get used to the smell.
-
We went through a stage here where everytime Riley walked in he'd have ticks walking all over him. I found the Preventic tick collars to work really well and we use the collar and frontline together now.

That looks excellent! Thankyou Charlie's pretty much the right size in that photo as she's quite a large cat.
-
I love all the silvery Charlie's They look really effective.

Is anyone able to try and merge these two photos together for me? Mine just look really crap and I struggle because the backgrounds are different colours. I don't know if Charlie is going to look out of place though as she's not looking at the camera. Is there a way to flip the photo round?

Ive completly forgotten the last time I gave Riley some intestinal worming tablets. I forgot to write it on my calender I have his heartworm tablets up to date and Im pretty sure his intestinal worming is due around now. If I did give him intestinal worming tablets last month, would it be harmful if I gave them again to him this month? My memory is shocking and I can't remember if Ive done them or not.

I had a go too. I need all the practice I can get :D
-
Thanks for that. Ill give it another shot soon and try that.

I just did this one. It was a real rush job. I didn't even attempt to get round the hair ;) My question is how do people get around all the small spikey bits of hair. Ive posted my crappy one, then the orginal. On the original you can see on the left hand side the meercat has spikey hair, how do you get around that? I just get impatient and just cut right across it :D

How Many Dog Groomers Are On Here?
wagsalot replied to 4 Paws's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I did and I strongly recommend you don't do it. -
Here's another OOB one that I just did. For some stupid reason I made the frame pink. I have no idea why I picked that colour The photo was in portrait, not landscape, so my frame didnt' fit, but oh well. I used a photo I took at Werribee

I did the course in Mosman. It was only a one day one, but it was all hands on which was good. I did that as a starter and then did another 2 courses via correspondance. Theres a course in Kogarah, but its very pricey. I looked into that at the time but there was no way I could afford i.t -
I use Frontline and Riley stands there happiley while I put that on. However I remember watching a show once where they said some of the flea treatments can cause a reaction on the dogs skin. The dog that was on tv just got really itchy from it.

How Many Dog Groomers Are On Here?

When I had my business running and I advertised I got a hell of a lot of calls for clipping. I gave clipping a go for a while, did a course and started practicing on friends dogs but I hated it so gave it up. Aussie Pooch Mobile only does washing (well my local few don't do clipping, not sure about others) and they're always really busy so they cope without doing clipping. I guess it half depends on the area too. Could you start up just doing washing and see how you go, and if you struggle, then offer clipping too? -
When To Feed The Bigger Meal
wagsalot replied to Love my Sonny and Neko's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I feed Riley his larger meal at night. No particular reason, other that it was more convenient for me that way
