  1. You started a thread the same a few days ago and got some good advice ????
  2. Fingers crossed about the place to live. Let me know if you get stuck though and we can sort something out for temp care.
  3. We just got a petbarn near us which I was excited about (to buy stuff we don't sell ofcourse ) but was dissappointed to go in and see rabbits and birds for sale. I won't go back there now. I'll go back to the Pets 2000 at Taren Point, which has heaps of stuff, but are a bit pricey. I think the petbarn which has opened up near it might bring its prices down though which is good.
  4. We got one for Riley when he was a pup . I pulled it out off the cupboard the other day (After about 8 years of no use!) and heated it up and it still works! Riley gets it under his blanket on cold days now.
  5. If its Wollongong - I can check with my OH. Is it likely to be long term or short term - as in month or two, or longer? We are about 30 mins from Wollongong, but are down that way all the time, and have a spare cage.
  6. I can't see alot of the photos, but the ones I can see are amazing! I love the Lake Matheson one We went at a similar time (2.5 weeks and we left on the 26th March) - for our honeymoon - we had a 4 berth campervan and did pretty much the whole of the South Island and just loved every second of it. It such a beautiful place. You'll definately have to go back and do Milford Sound - its just amazing.
  7. About 6 years ago I emailed Hanrob saying I was interested in work etc. There wasnt anything available at that time, but came back to me about 5 months later saying some positions were opening if I wanted to go in for a interview - I had no formal training, but had a fair bit of experience around animals. Id definately be sending them your resume saying your interested in work - if you did work experience there then thats a really good start.
  8. Rileys shedding like mad at the moment. Its driven me nuts over the last few days as Ive been sick and stuck on the couch and I've just led there looking at all the dog hair on my rug and it drove me nuts. I managed to vaccum it yesterday and today its gone black with hair again.
  9. Thats more than double the RRP. We had the octopus here for Riley too, but it got destuffed. The mega ring is still going strong over a year later though!
  10. Aussie Dog toys are good - the tuckerball is a favourite here. I like it as Riley still plays for it even when theres no food in it (because of the marble in it that still rolls around) Thats good news about the orbee - I was thinking of getting one for my cousins staffy that likes to destroy most things!
  11. Riley's never howled at sirens, but the dog that used to be next door to my work did all the time. I work just down from a hospital too, so there was always sirens going past.
  12. Toys are definately worth it in this house, especially over the last few days. I love watching Riley get so excited about his toys. I gave him a new kyjen bottle buddy today and he was running round like a puppy again (he's 9). I've also been sick the last few days so they've been great to occupy him while I'm stuck on the lounge
  13. I will try & be polite ;) Why did you do this? The mice will have probably died from exposure/predation... and stress. Not a good way to go. and if they didn't.... National parks do not need any more feral animals competing with small natives for food/shelter. ;) oh I hope you desexed them before rehoming They were still alive - none died. The house backs onto the National park - they came from there in the first place.
  14. I was just going to post about these too. We had some mice outside near our back door at our last house, so we got some from Bunnings and put some peanut butter up the very end of it. We caught quite a few, then realised them in the national park 10 mins away.
  15. Rileys face on this makes me laugh - It was done for a uni assignment
  16. Ive taken Riley to work a few times. He's really good, but it gets a little awkward if clients come in that don't like dogs etc. So I only take him if necessary
  17. I just wash Riley in the backyard - I've got one of those hose nozzles that you can change - I put it on "shower" and do it on the grass. Lucky for me he's pretty good and just stands there til Im done.
  18. I use it all year round Edited to add - this is for ticks.
  19. Riley loves icecream - he gets a icecream cake for his birthday (just so we can eat some ) My OH was cooking dinner the other night and must of dropped the lid off the fish sauce bottle. I noticed Riley eating something in his bed, and he obviously liked the taste, and chewed the lid (didn't eat it luckily). Now we have a fish sauce bottle with glad wrap over the top
  20. Lovely photo - Happy Birthday Penny!
  21. Good to know. Riles has been vaccinated this year, but next year Id like to do a titre test as Im reluctant to re vaccinate. A bit of a hike, but worth it for the price.
  22. With the galileo that Riley's got, Id be very surprised if he'd managed to break anything off that in a lump. Its rock hard. I guess the correct sizing is important - and supervision.
