Glad it was shut. Better to be safe than sorry -
OH if anything happened to me. If something happened to the both of us, then my parents would take them.

A soccer ball with a puncture is popular here. Also a yoghurt container Riley spends ages trying to get every last bit out of it.
-
I love the last one with the head tilt

Riley loves a deflated soccer ball much more than a inflated one!

Arms.... normally I don't mind him destroying his toys.... but Kongs are expensive! At this rate I’ll be broke within a month..... I buy the $2 bags of toys at the salvos for him to kill...... but love the Kongs (with treats inside) for when I have to leave them alone. GG85.... I will go and have a look thanks. Does anyone know of another treat toy that’s really strong? The aussie dog tucker balls are strong - they are hard though, not softish like the kongs, so some dogs aren't as attracted to them. Thanks wagsalot.... do you think I should get him the Medium? Yep, Id go the medium.

Give the black one a go - They do seem to be a fair bit stronger than the red ones.

Dogs That Sleep In The House - Question On Times
wagsalot replied to JulesP's topic in General Dog Discussion
Riley goes out for a wee at 9.30pm then doesn't go out again until I get up - this is generally 7.15am, but can be as late as 9am on the weekends. He sleeps next to our bed - he doesn't move until we get up He's only ever woken us up in the night to go out a couple of times, when he's been a bit off colour. -
Oh dear! We took Riley camping once for a week. He was really good - the only problem we had was the cane toads! We were camping at Ballina and forgot about them as we don't have them down our way (yet!). We found Riley investigating something when he went out for a wee then saw toads everywhere! We made sure his tick protection was up to date, took toys, plenty of old towels for when we went to he beach and he got wet, bowls, spare collar and leash, bed, and poo bags!

Riley goes through times where he'll lick his foot to the point it creates a wound, bleeds, and gets infected. I tried dog boots but didn't really like them. Instead, I'll use a sock or a bandage. I find they are more breathable as well.

I was going to buy some with the same idea in mind, but when I got there, there was only 1 left. Everyone must of snapped them up! I went to Coles though, but will check out the local Kmart.

I snuggle up under a polar fleece on the lounge every night and Riles sleeps with one. I think if you look into everything you'd go crazy. If they pull them all off the shelves, then Ill take notice.

Riley used to make me laugh when he was younger. If I came home from work and he was sat on the deck chair - facing backwards! - I knew he'd dug a big hole.

I usually freeze Rileys with a bit of peanut butter round the edges and some chicken stock in summer.

I love how at the start he looks really nervous, then the last photos he has a big grin on his face.

A Big Favour Please, Photos Of Rescue Dogs Needed
wagsalot replied to Daisy's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Can't help with the photos (too far away) but I checked out Hugo's profile and he's adorable. Im surprised someone hasn't fallen in love with him yet. -
I remember being at a dogs day out thing a few years back where a dad was walking along with his little boy - who at a guess would of been 2 or 3, and the boy came up and pulled riley's tail. We were sat watching the german shepherd dog league. Luckily Riley didn't react, but I spoke to the boys dad about it, who didn't care less and kept letting the boy going along doing it to other dogs!! I've been lucky around my area though - most kids that see Riley stand there looking like they really want to pat him, but will hesitate to do so until I give the ok.

It must be when he's in the laundry. Our house is always quite warm, and his bed is normally on the rug in the lounge or on the carpet in the bedroom. In laundry though, that room gets cold in the day when he's in there, and his bed is on tiles. Nothing else gets damp in there though. Tomorrow Ill put a mat down (Carpet offcut) in the laundry, and put his bed ontop of that and see if that helps. Ill check his bed morning and night too to see if I can work out when it happens.

Im having problems with Riley's bed - he has one of those plastic beds, with a quilt and a quilt cover. He's had the same set up for 9 years. His bed stays in doors only - in our lounge, bedroom and in the laundry during the day. The other week I gave him a pillow in a pillow case under his quilt to make it more comfy for him. A few days later I went to wash his bedding and noticed the pillow was quite wet and had gone mouldy. I chucked it out straight away along with the cover and washed everything else. I presumed he's got wet in the rain and it soaked through. Then I put a polar fleece blanket down, with his quilt on top. Went to wash the bedding and a week later and the polar fleece was really wet. This time it hadn't been raining. Smelt it - but no scent of wee. I thought maybe the polar fleece got damp? so I washed everything and went back just to the quilt with the quilt cover. Tonight Riley wouldn't go in his bed - so I checked his bedding and the bottom section of the quilt was damp (the quilt is folded over). Only the bottom bit was damp - the bit on the bed, the top half that Riles lies on was ok. So its all in the wash again and Rileys now sleeping on a towel with my polar fleece blanket on top to make it soft! Has anyone got any idea if this sounds like its getting damp?? I can't think of any other reason as I really don't think its wee as it doesn't smell and there is no yellow stains etc. As far as I know its only started happening in the last few weeks as its never been wet before when I've washed it. I feel horrible that he's been sleeping on a damp bed Since i've changed it tonight he's been fast asleep in his bed Anyone had the same problem?? My parents have a spare bed up there and that plastic one has vent type holes in the bottom so Im going to get that on Thursday and try that. Im also going to go out and buy a new quilt as his is getting old, then start afresh!

I bought Riley the Jack one but he wasn't really interested in it. I think I should of got the one with the rope in it too though. I've just looked into stocking their range, so we're trying out the rag rope ball at the moment

Does Your Dog Particularly Like Routine?
wagsalot replied to corvus's topic in General Dog Discussion
Id definately say Riley prefers to sticking to our routine. For example, I do the same thing every day I go to work. When I turn the light off he automatically gets up, walks to the laundry and waits for me to carry his bed in and say bye. The other morning OH's mum called in really early with her dog. She was only here for about 10 mins, but Riley got to play with her dog etc. Then when they left and I went to leave, Riley got all exited and thought he was going too, which ofcourse he wasn't. I had to them tell him several times to go the laundry as Im going to work. He didn't want to go in there at all! Whereas if the routine went as normal, he quite happily goes into the laundry without even being told. So then he went from being really excited to being left by himself and sulking. He even whined a bit when I left, which is rare!
