Tough Soft* Toys For Heavy Chewers
wagsalot replied to princesszelda's topic in General Dog Discussion
Already been through two of those But thanks for the suggestions! Our wubba has a hole in it, but its still very loved Kyjen Bottle Buddies last a while here - they are a soft cover over a water bottle. No stuffing which is good. -
Not For Those Who Don't Like Spiders!
wagsalot replied to lappiemum's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I hate spiders, but I have to say, he looks kinda cute in the last one! I've never got close enough to see their eyes before. -
We got a weed killer from a local nursery which claimed to be pet friendly. We never take any risks though and lock the dog out of the area for a few days afterwards.
-
Riles isn't that into bones either. I remember when we gave him chicken wings when he was younger and he just looked at it as if to say what the hell do I do with that. He licked it then walked off

4th Annual Mdba Dog Owners Choice Awards
wagsalot replied to Steve's topic in General Dog Discussion
I had to use a marketing text by peter rix a few years back at tafe. Mine had a coke bottle or something on it though. Chopper looks much more interesting! -
I tried one on Riley and found it didn't stay in place - its slid to the sides a bit. But saying that, at $20 its pretty cheap wouldn't hurt for a spare.
-
Id be fuming. Poor pups - hope they are ok over night. At least its not 1 puppy by itself I suppose.
-
:D next time you go you should ask if he's still checking his dog for ticks! Lucky dog to get through it twice.
-
I couldn't imagine it being any worse than a bone thats been burried in the yard for a month or two before being dug up again? I leave Riley's kong to soak in hot soapy water over night and it normally cleans up pretty easily. You'll find most dog toys have warnings on them these days saying supervised use only.

Is the neighbour able to secure the compost bin somehow so the fox can't get anything out of it?
-
I guess it comes down to if you could live with yourself if anything bad happened to the dog from eating grapes which you knew had a risk factor.
-
I never knew about the grape thing until a while ago. Before that we used to give a grape to our quaker parrot, and one to the dog several times a day. Now, I know they can be bad I don't do it anymore. Just not worth the risk. Edited to add - living on a vineyard property sounds lovely!
-
Mine was a cheapy too and its just as good as the other one I've got that cost nearly 3 times as much!

My parents car has leather seats. They put a blanket down over the seat, then put one of those dog car protector things over the top. ETA - i think they're called dog back seat hammocks ?

These look great - my two would love them - where can I get them - are they available in Australia or only from the US? I've got a few left in stock at the moment (See link in my signature). Quite a few places stock the Kyjen range now (mostly online)- its a really good range - they have lots of good stuff, but the Bottle Buddy is by far Riley's favourite of the range. -

Riley loves the water bottles too - I found the Kyjen Bottle buddies and he looovvves them. Its a soft cover and you put a water bottle inside. He loves the noise - I don't though! Especially while trying to watch tv! -
The Mating And Migratory Patterns Of The Kong
wagsalot replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Our nextdoor neighbours puppy used to push his full Kongs under the fence, then Riley would grab them, eat the filling and leave on our deck! I would return it, only for the pup to put it back under our fence again the next day :p I guess he liked to share! -

Rileys fav is the Nylabone Galileo. The everlasting treat balls - the treat stays in for about 5 mins max here then both treat and ball get left. If she isn't into chew toys, why not just give up on them and try other toys instead? She might like puzzle toys or balls, or just soft toys to carry around -
Ours is around the post on our deck at the moment - its supposed to be up high but we didn't have anywhere to put it either so its down low. He still uses it though. The only way I could think that was strong enough would be to concrete something into the ground. Riley pulls his bungee thing pretty hard - I couldn't see something in the dirt holding it for very long at all.

Who's Doing Something Dog-related Today?
wagsalot replied to halfthewords's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have Riley at work with me today as he was a bit off colour last night. He seems perfectly fine now though! -
I didn't realise we could pay yet (must of been under a rock!) I can't remember how many I said i'd order though Does it matter if it changes?
-
Im really bad and buy toys I like the look of not ones I think Riley would like Most of the time he likes them too though! I like colourful toys, that are a decent size and ones with dangly bits that Riley can grab and carry and fling around.

That was the thread I remembered but couldn't find. Must be blind
-
I've just gone through 14 pages and can't find anything - Im sure theres been threads before, but all the ones I can see are SLR rec's. My mum wants a new point and shoot camera. Needs to be small and take a good shot. Needs to be simple to use. Budget around $500 max. I've been looking at some of the panasonic lumix ones - I've got one, but its the waterproof and shockproof one, but its only ok. I have no idea about the canon models so can anyone suggest any of them to take a look at?
