  1. For me it would depend on the dogs quality of life afterwards - I wouldn't spend thousands of dollars on vet bills if the dog was going to have poor quality of life afterwards. If Riley was sick and spending thousands would get him better and he'd have good quality of life, then I think my limit would be quite high. I wouldn't put a price on his life, Id probably pay whatever was neccessary, but I think my OH would be the one (as much as he loves Riley) to be practical about the situation.
  2. I've just seen this. Will definately send some parcels off - a couple of dog ones and a few for the soldiers as well. Edited to add - I presume its Ok with if we enclose a note?
  3. I think it might of been the trip, and now he's realised we're staying he's settled again. He at the biscuits yesterday arvo, dinner last night, and at 7.47am he's already eaten his biscuits again this morning. Hopefully he'll keep it up.
  4. I actually tried to ring the vet just before but they were engaged. THen I thought Id give it one more shot, so got out the K9 Natural food and as I was mixing it up, Riley gets up and goes and eats his bowl of biscuits - all of them. Ill keep the K9Natural stuff and give that to him tonight and see if it eats it. My hubby thinks he might be unsettled as we went overseas for a few weeks (got back wed morning). My parents were staying at my house with him, but OH said the change of routine etc might of put him off. Doesn't really account for the times he didn't eat before we went though. I have to get some more eye drops from the vet anyway next week so I think Ill take him in anyway.
  5. I've never really had a problem with Riley not eating. However, the last few months he's got more picky and will go 2 days without eating any of his food. Its food he's happily eaten before but now won't touch. He goes and looks at his bowl and then walks off. Its both his dinner and his biscuits in the morning. He is interested in whatever we are eating, and if I put a little bit of mash potato ontop of his food, he will lick the potato off straight away, but leaves his food. He didn't eat Wednesday or yesterday and didn't touch his biscuits this morning. I just put down 3 scotch finger biscuits to see if he'd eat them, and yep, gobbled them up. Do you think its worth a vet visit? Im thinking as he will eat treats quite happily he might be hanging out to see if he can get something better?
  6. The Pets 2000 near me sells them Also here: http://dstore.com/item/2598833
  7. Thats good to know - will have to look up about sigma lenses as I've found one in a shop near my relo's that converts to a decent price.
  8. Yeah I am staying with relo's. By the time I work in shipping etc it gets quite pricey, compared to buying it here and getting gst back. I might just wait til I get back and make do in the meantime. Edited to add - Im guessing if you buy a lens overseas, and it breaks, it would have to be sent back overseas?
  9. I know I umm and ahhh too much! Im going to England - and from what I've seen - their lenses seem to be more expensive over there to buy. Serves me right for leaving everything to the last minute!
  10. I need it by Saturday though as im flying overseas. looking at tamron 17-50 now.
  11. apparantly they aren't making this lens anymore - no one has it
  12. I would think you'd be allowed a dog on a houseboat, but depending on where you go etc the dog may not be able to get off - such as national parks etc.
  13. We use it quite often here - its handy for when you want something quick
  14. http://www.ryda.com.au/ProductDetails.asp?...uctCode=4669927 This is the right one isn't it?
  15. So they aren't interchangable? the pentax or nikon mount won't fit? Not many places seem to have the canon mount, and the ones that do are a fair bit more expensive than the pentax mount ones
  16. which one - there is 3 on here ? I presume I could get away without having Optical Stabilizer? http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/category16_1.htm
  17. I haven't had much time to use my camera lately but Im heading overseas shortly and it would be nice to get a decent lens before I go. I currently have the standard kit lens that came with my camera (350d) - 18-55 (which has taken a beating and needs to be replaced) I have a decent zoom lens, and I have the 50 1.8 I need to replace my kit lens - so after some suggestions on lens to replace it with - Price range under $500 would be nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated - Im not good with camera talk so really don't know what to look for. I just want something similar to the kit lens that takes a decent shot.
  18. I used to bury toys and treats in a sandpit we made for Riley - used to keep him occupied for a while and he learnt that was his designated digging spot pretty quick too.
  19. Let me know how you go. If they are still around I'll have to let my mother in law know.
  20. My MIL will be really interested in that. We had a look at a few companies and none allowed dogs. ETA - I can't get the link to work
  21. maybe he liked the squeakers a little too much
