  1. Hi We have a barfshop single heated with one door on wheels. We have had this for 3 plus years and have not ever had any problems. It is moulded plastic so will not chip ect and large enough our Akita's turn around with ease. We were lucky at the time it only cost us $1200.00 (new) at the time. But looking around for someone recently all hydro baths have gone up a LOT. PS the service was fantastic and they delivered with the grooming table which we still have and in perfect working order as well. Hope this helps. Malisa Aust Champion Lanzeon Mishka (Mason)
  2. Karen I hope the little one is OK. We use a fantastic animal natropath Patricia , they also go to show training at Caboolture and if owner is concerned please Pm me and I will send you Patricia's details. Sorry we have not had a chance to catch up it gets too busy at shows at times. I must come and cuddle some boxer babies Hope they are doing well their mum is a stunning example. A very pretty Boxer girl. Kind Regards Malisa
  3. Amy Wash them weekly and use a good shampoo /rinse and in warm water this will male the pores open to release the old coat. If you have a blower blaster it will help to blow coat out and dry them off quickly and gets the old coat out. We have an oldfield blower it is excellent. We have Akita's and Coat blow is like snowing here And I am not exaggerating at all. Short coats are hard too we had Rottys before our Akita's That hair is so heavy and dense we used to find it all over as well. Good Luck Kind Regards Malisa

    Puppy Whining

Before we can help you what breed and age ? Puppies need love and human attention. With pups remember what goes in the tummy comes out very fast so lead toilet training is a must about 15 to 30 min after eating/drinking. Kind Regards Malisa
  5. Be very careful dear friends of ours lost a great show dog English Setter to this only late last year. They are still greiving to this day and have owned and bred dogs for over 40 years. Very experienced exhibitiors and dog people. Dog was about 18 months old. :D So it is not just puppies who do this, he ate it out of the blue had not ever eaten a rock before. Stone caused a blockage in stomach, he died at the vet overnight. But in saying this we cannot watch them 27/7 terrible things happen all the time even with the best of measures. Malisa
  6. Oh my how we forget Our akita pups drove us mad with the play biting it seemed to go on forever but after a while it stops just like magic ;) A high pitched squeal and no and chew toys do work. Just perservere and he will stop. Those kong's that are blue and have the rubber spikes are great. Enjoy them they grow up so quick. Malisa
  7. Thanks to everyone who replied!! I do also use the dettol method it does work but with some of the big suckers they dont die easily. On the first night last year we killed 17 and then decreased every night. I was just hoping and praying there might be some new way to dispose of these foul creatures! I also use the bug zapper to attract them on hot nights. Our dogs are hunting dogs so toads seem fun to them. My husbands brother lost a dog to cane toad last year. He was about 3yrs old and they were heartbroken vale buster. They took him to the vet spent about 700 dollars and in the end the toxin had damaged his spinal cord he could not stand and had to be lifted in the yard to go to the toilet. They realised his quality of life was non existent and had him put to sleep. This is always in the back of my mind. The government should do more about this awful pest not just to domestic animals but to native as well. They are good for nothing people in southern states do not know how lucky they are. Thanks once again. :D
  8. It is approaching summer here in Queensland and I took our puppy Mason out for a wee before he was settled for the night and there were cane toads already out side he grabbed one while on the lead lucky i was quick enough to stop him. It took alot of effort it was a very very small toad and I did not see it straight away. I quickly brought him inside and cleaned his mouth out just in case. I am sure there must be a more humane way but touching these things can be very dangerous. I have heard of the frezzer method that is fine if you can catch them. In Qld they can be big nasty and quick. Last summer I disposed of these nasty foul pests with another method given. Please does any one have any better ideas. Our Akitas are in the house from 6pm to 6am daily to avoid this problem. But is there anything else we could do?
