  1. This just happened the other weekend, so the thread is quite timely :p

I took Tux to a friends house for the night (he'd stayed there before quite happily) while my friend and I went out. Tux decided he didn't want to be left behind though and according to the neighbour, slipped under the fence and hung around the front yard for two hours. The neighbour didn't have our numbers (one of my mistakes right here) and he wouldn't go to her. Twenty minutes before we got home he took off. I spent Saturday night from ten (when we got home) till one thirty in the morning running through the estate, driving down roads and screaming out his name. I held it together until my friend said we needed to wait until morning, then I was hysterical. We were both exhausted and running out of petrol, I hoped he'd found himself to someone's house but I doubted it. I left a blanket that had my scent where he was last seen (about two kilometres from the house). I didn't sleep much at all, stirred at every noise and kept kicking myself for being so stupid.

Anyway at three thirty (two hours after we stopped looking) I heard a few barks at the door, ran out of bed and ripped the door open and he ran inside. I have no idea how he found his way back to the house when he's never been walked around that neighbourhood and he was already out of the estate when he was last spotted. First time he's ever escaped and I am definitely not planning on a second one. He was so thirsty and his paw pads were scraped up a bit but I was so happy to see his goofy face.

Very bad human, very smart dog.

  2. I remember him because he had such a different look :) That video is so funny, no wonder the weight dropped off him!

That's a good idea with Cupcake, kelpie puppies are hard to resist so it makes sense to hold onto her for a bit longer. Plus then you get all the puppy breath and cuddles :p

  3. Great thread! I love seeing everyone's packs :)

I still live at home while I'm studying so our pack consists of my dog and two family dogs (although I may be moving out in the next year or two, in which case I'll be taking Tux).

    Tux- 15months (kelpie x)

  4. I've always had family dogs that were mostly "mine" (I did all the cleaning, walking, feeding, training etc) but my first dog that I purchased and that I'll take with me when I move out is Tux my kelpie x border collie (accidentally bred by a family friend). He's the smartest, sweetest dog I've ever owned and everyone tells me how good looking he is :p

He's definitely cemented my love for kelpies.

  5. Oh my, Osha is stunning!

I absolutely adore that colour on kelpies.

Cream is a very popular colour. I'm a red and tan or a black and tan Kelpie person myself but Osha won me over with her lovely personality

I'm definitely partial to the black and tans, and I always said my next one (way, way in the future) would be a red and tan, but a cream that lovely could sway me :p

She looks like a lovely dog, I hope she finds a great home.

  6. I completed it and got an older looking Weimaraner? Maybe? I'm not too good at dog breeds

It was a sweet looking dog though so I guess I just answered based around that.

I got the same dog as you... didn't look overly impressed at being photographed... lol!

    T.

Hahah it didn't look too happy, no :p

I didn't mind this survey actually, I found it interesting what emotions I thought I could see in a picture without knowing the dog.
