  1. Use a kitty litter tray with an igloo type roof.
  2. My vet has always said that nursing mothers always run a higher temperature.
  3. I have a boy that used to get loose stools until I tried him on a grain free food. Catch of the Wild Salmon. Now all good. We did try several brands with no success including pro plan sensitive.
  4. Pro plan has a new sensitive for puppies. Fish based. Smells very fishy so if your puppy likes the cat food this may work.
  5. I've also had reactions to Advantix with a couple of my shelties who don't have any other allergies. I think it's just too strong for some skins. I use frontline if I have to for ticks or comfortis for fleas.
  6. I'm pretty sure mine is the same as the first one but has a yellow casing. I've had it a few years and I have shelties so double coated and have never had a problem with it. It's really powerful and I can't turn it up much higher than halfway.
  7. You could try some sardines on her bisuits.
  8. We certainly won't be continuing with our dogs Elenbah if this comes in. I certainly don't have the room or money to build kennels. And my shelties will certainly not be raised in kennels. I wonder where they expect us to sleep when we have to sleep with them when they are first born? The last litter of mine were bottle fed and I slept with them for over 3 weeks. I have written to my MP and the two MP's involved. I hope everyone else does the same. 90% of the breeders I know can't possibly comply with these new regulations so say goodbye to pure bred dogs unless they are in licensed puppy farms.
  9. You could try some apple cider vinegar. My mum swears by it for her arthritis in her fingers. Just a bit on their food.
  10. We also use the horse shampoo but dilute it in a spray bottle. About 1 cm shampoo the rest water. Just spray on the white parts not the whole dog :)
  11. Try adding some sardines to her food. I also had one bitch who all she would eat if anything was dog roll. So I found the best quality one I could find. Not what I would normally feed but better than nothing.
  12. I'm the same as you Christina. I worm the bitch before matings, usually when she has just come in and then the pup and mum at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks. Never seen a worm.
  13. We had a singleton and elected to do a c-section as soon as her temp dropped. Don't regret it at all. The sire of this pup was a singleton also and he did have trouble coming out the birth canal and had to be rushed to the vet to get him out. We are lucky though and our local vet is only 5 minutes away.
  14. The oral care biscuits are smaller than the TD biscuits. I find even the shelties don't chew the oral care biscuits sometimes. But they are pigs. They will chew the TD biscuits though as they are a lot bigger.
