  1. Haha wow! Look at all the replies! =) I work the usual 9-5 job and she's usually free to roam around the backyard during the day. From the first day we brought her home until 8 months, she's always been inside the house during weekdays/work and also when we're sleeping. She was only outside when we're home. But now that she's older, we leave her outside most of the time and of course, the daily walks. =)
  2. Awwww but I want to be an authority figure and the friend too. LOL
  3. I know dogs gets excited whenever they see their owner, unlike cats but my puppy gets soooo overly excited when I come home that she: * jumps on her kennel * jumps off * runs around me a few times * runs around the backyard * runs towards me then jumps on top of her kennel She also doesn't listen when I tell her to sit/drop. She still shakes hands with me so that's a good thing. The thing is, when my partner comes home, she's more behaved around him. Always sits next to him for a cuddle and if asked to sit, she'll sit. It's another story for when I join them, she forgets about him and just focuses on me. My partner thinks that it's because she sees less of me, that's why she's always excited coz she missed me so much. Question is.... is this normal? Is this a staffy thing? Is it a dog thing? (Former cat owner.)
  4. This is from the basic obedience class I take my puppy to. The trainer allowed his little 2yo grandson to walk up to the dogs. All the dogs behaved themselves!!! These are dogs that are 6+ months old. I guess they were behaved because their owners were next to them but I'd still be a bit hesitant about the rottweiler.
  5. Here's my little 9-year old, she just finished her season so it's now safe to walk her out without the fear of being humped! O_O LOL
  6. Soooo after the long hiatus, I'm back and happy to report that she's now eating. WOhOOO!!! I noticed that she even ate the zucchini I gave her, some pumpkins too, carrots. So proud of my lil girl. ^_^
  7. Oh really? I thought because she's still a puppy, she would need milk. Guess I'll finish this bottle and not get her that anymore. =D Thanks for the advice, my partner and I both think that she's full on all those fruits. Cheeky little thing. So we're keeping her inside this whole weekend so she eats her food and only go outside to do her business. =p
  8. Haven't really noticed any smell or blood but yeah, all her baby teeth have grown out now & she's got her adult teeth (finally no more painful bites lol). She's still behaving normally, still playing the same way & always happy to see us. She's got a routine, we feed her when we wake up in the morning and then when we get home from work. She still looks & feels the same, she hasn't lost any weight. I haven't really noticed the poo, she poos in the same spot (near the fruit trees).
  9. My 5 month old puppy is not eating. =( She's very picky at the moment, she's content to munch on the fruits hanging off the pomegranate/fig/locquat trees in our backyard. *sigh* Don't know what to do! She does drink puppy milk and some of the doggy treats BUT she's not eating the chicken wings, chicken necks, lamb off-cuts (from our friend's yiros shop). She used to LOVE these things. We've tried canned dog food and also the dry puppy biscuits/food, to no effect. =( Is it because of the hot weather or is it just a phase all puppies go through? Help!
  10. My puppy swallowed a thick chicken neck once and it got stuck in her throat. I noticed something was wrong because she was whimpering and was backed into a corner. My bf checked her throat & found the neck stuck in there. He massaged it down and it finally went down. She then regurgitated it, smelled it and then swallowed it again (eww lol). But yeah they do eat them whole. Now we chop them in bite-size pieces just to be safe. ^_^
  11. This was her 3 weeks before CHristmas. This one was taken 2 weeks ago.
  12. Yeah she's teething, her back teeth are growing. What do you mean by bit down in pasterns? I'm a new dog owner, not sure if that's a dog-term. O_O Uhmmmm she's showing me her sad face because I've put a collar around her. Cheeky, manipulative little puppy. It worked because she ended up treats after. LOL We're feeding her wet food in the morning, dry food at night. Sometimes I give her chicken neck or the chicken wing's end part. I also give her watermelon, apples, carrots, honeydew/rockmelon - she loves them. I used to give her grapes too but that was before I found out that it's a big no-no for dogs. I only gave her 3-5 grapes. Hope it didn't do any damage.
  13. Wooopppsss, I told a few colleagues about the grape rule and they didn't realize that it's a no-no for dogs. O_O They were saying that they feed it to their dogs & the dogs love it. Nothing seems to be wrong with them though. Hmmmm But ok I won't feed her grapes anymore just to be safe. ^_^
  14. Wow, thanks everyone for the all the advice. Well, I wanted to show her off and also to keep fit (more for me, not for her). New Year's resolution and all. LOL She's a SBT and nearly 5 months old at the end of the month. This is her sitting like a human. So adorable!
  15. My puppy is 4 months old and I plan to go on power walks with it for half an hour. With it being summer at the moment, would it be advisable for her to be walking for that long? Will it tire her out? I plan to bring a bottle of water each for the both of us. Sorry for all the questions, I'm a new dog owner. =D
  16. I was worried because I fed my dog raw meat at 8 weeks old and I was told that it wasn't good for her. Some people remarked on how lucky she was to be eating steak. LOL This pic was taken at 2 months old. She is now 4 months old and now eats lamb, pork, chicken and beef. She loves fruits too, especially grapes & watermelon. ^_^ I once gave her some leftover Chinese noodles... was this ok?
