MG you haven't met me but just ask bedazzledx2 and ptolomy about me - I am certainly not an overly outgoing confident person and we still do fine .
-
yeah that was my thought but in the end I bit my tongue and didn't say to much more on the issue other than she was a nervy dog and I was more then happy with it at this point and that we do work on it when I train. Its on the list - it was the barking they weren't so keen on. I do think some of what I have been doing is working because I lost some of the "frustrating" barking I had at the royal and it seemed to be more "enjoyment" barking - if you can get the difference.

LOL yep we got a copy of the score sheet. There are 3 sections - routine content, technical merit and musical interpretation (which is where the costume bit fits in). Each section is score out of 20.

I forgot to also mention I will use tricks in between obedience exercises - Kenz loves things like leg weaves and to her it makes our obedience rounds just seem like we are messing around at the park if I throw in a couple of those in between exercises. I can at training, I can in a trial. They become secondary conditioned reinforcers to the dog. And the added bonus with enough tricks and a bit of music added you can easily improvise a DWD routine and end up with another title .
-
yep I do MG - my serious obedience dog is also my part time DWD dog .
-
I still can't believe she would have got effectively a 56/60 from one of the judges (if she didn't lose a point for barking and I didn't lose a point for my lack of costume ).

I am not sure exactly RS - just whatever component that is covered by the C4 is the nasty component. Hmm ok just did google think the C4 component is parainfluenza which I was told if they contracted isn't as easily treatable whereas whatever the strain that is covered by the C5 component is much more easily treatable.
-
I had this discussion with our vet and have always gone for C4 rather than C5. The theory is that whatever the KC component that is covered by the 4 part is the one that is the most problematic if the dog should contract it hence opting for that over the C3. The vet new mine interacted with a heap of dogs and has never pushed a C5 on them and the comment was if they did get the KC strain that was covered by the C5 component then as long as they were fit and healthy otherwise there would be unlikely to be to many issues and it was also easily treated.

you guys might get lucky enough to see the routine - just decided I might as well purchase a copy since it would have passed .

in true Winpara fashion she spent 15 minutes before she went in sucking up to all the judges and getting belly rubs and biscuits . Hmmmm who kidnapped the normal Kenz.

Dances with Dogs Trainee Judges Mock Trial this morning and Kenz performed a lovely routine that would have seen her pass convincingly an Intermediate Freestyle Routine. Not bad considering I only offered an Intermediate Routine at the last moment (i.e this past week) and I had no idea what I was getting myself in for. She is a good little girl and loves every moment of it.
-
Ok so back from the trainee judges mock trial and had it been a proper trial Kenz would have come away with a very nice scoring Intermediate Freestyle Routine - ok maybe I didn't talk her up . She lost a couple for barking and it was suggested I could take some of the drive out of her and she isn't a dog that needs razzing up - hmmm will pass on that she has a blast and I am not to fussed .

when I have a job and can afford it is the truthful answer kallistar . And when we know a little more about Kenz and where she is at with recovering and what is going on.
-
always the way Kallistar. Gah I thought i had my routine sorted for tomorrow now I am starting to wonder if its of the required standard for the class .
