  1. Well done on Gabby's open pass too. I think Inka's bow on recall is brilliant .
  2. kallistar maybe I should come and personally deliver her - seemed to work for xena .
  3. Yep although I think maybe it was because I personally delivered the scent fairy to the trial. Gabby did work very nicely xena98 - glad it came off for you finally. Huge congratulations again. Her seekback was brilliant and she did her wash cloths well too .
  4. Hmmm stupid question if you have correctly proofed your dog against moving on body language cues how do you release the dog off the startline when training in silence.
  5. Urgh RS gotta hate that sub for not sitting during the heeling on the lead-up in the recall - Ness pulled it on me the only day she worked the rest of it so nicely and cost me a 190 score. Evil dog. Well done again though .
  6. Way to go Bedazzledx2 and Brooklyn UDX - huge congratulations. . Well done also to RS and Millie for winning Open .
  7. CR have free shipping on their ready treat - depends what you are looking at it for but I presume you have already seen that.
  8. I taught Kenz using the 2x2 method and her entries were great. I retrained Ness who could already weave using the 2x2 method and she always had nice solid entries too.
  9. The whole physical restraint thing reminds me of an "incident" at a trial. I lined Ness up for a sendaway in UD, Dave Rumble was the judge and hmm for some reason either she didn't stand on my verbal so I did what I do in training and slid my foot back alongside her back leg to pop her into a stand. Not once did I touch her but did I get a "talking" after the exercise was completed. I then turned her around and showed him what I did . He had no problem with it when he saw it but because he was on the opposite side to the dog god knows what he thought I was doing to her .
  10. Hmmm given your in Qld I wonder if its where I think it is - only because I know somebody who moved there and helps instruct at a club (and uses clickers) when the rest of the club doesn't. So think she runs one of the Advanced groups which would explain the clickers and I can assure you they use rewards as well. Although I might be totally wrong .
  11. Yeah you better tell me when your bringing missy Elka down - otherwise your sooooo dead SK .
  12. I guess the argument against collars in agility is they can get caught on equipment. There isn't quite that risk when it comes to obedience equipment.
  13. What if somebody has to grab your dog in stays because the dog has broken RS? ETA. Just clarifying I don't mean "you" personally. But I know that is one argument that has been given for dogs having collars on.
  14. RS I need a few more important things stable before I even entertain the idea of a sit stay - something like a dog remaining on 4 legs and getting through a training session without giving me a heart attack in the process .
  15. Yeah don't go rubbing it in RS - I keep telling Kenz - 3 x 3 min sit stays to get through open is all I'll make her do then we can hang out in UD and UDX with no sit stays .
  16. Way to go RS and Ruby . Also nice work Ptolomy and Beans and Caffy and Alex .
  17. yeah but you gotta watch these black and white fluffy things, they wouldn't want us to join - Schutzhund Kenz indeed ;).
  18. Sorry for the bad news Boxagirl - hugs.
  19. about leaving things to the last minute. Have fun - they are a really great bunch of people from my observation the evening I gatecrashed when SecretKei was down. I would love to gatecrash one of there tracking training sessions at some point as I would be interested to see how they teach it compared to how we learned at the tracking club.
  20. Awesome news CC - hopefully it settles down nicely and there is no lasting soreness. Fingers crossed for Bondi and some good news to boxagirl.
  21. Eastern Parade Ottoway is where it is - not sure on the exact address - PM SecretKei if she doesn't see this thread.
  22. I think its a bit the case of why risk something that could become an issue for an over zealous lawyer - a bit of risk management. If alternatives exist then don't chance it.
  23. CC have they actually managed to get a positive drawer sign. Otherwise I'd be tempted to rest him which is what Kenz's physio has suggested with her. She may potentially have a partial torn cruciate. Any way just a thought. Also apparently if you keep having them manipulated to check then it can actually delay the healing anyway. They can build scar tissue to stabilize the joint without always needing surgery to repair it. A friend's BC did a partial cruciate but with rest it came good.
  24. Thanks for all your thoughts - he has opted for the 60d and said he figured he would put the extra towards a better lens. I gather there are a few features on the 60d (something about the audio and also I think the flip out screen) which make it slightly more suited for video. He isn't fussed about the still photo side so much. He is serious about video editing - its what he does at work - produces adds for TV .
