I pulled the pdf down as i wanted a sticky beak at who was entered and I wasn't able to view it and I am on a Mac. It opened up a pdf document which obviously had information because I could cut and paste it into word but it wasn't viewable in the pdf.

I was quoted $1600 for MRI plus xrays of a shoulder recently.

Hmm both specialists have been good with limiting the amount of hair they have had to clip off Kenz. Considering its been unavoidable. It still takes an eternity to grow back.

Possible Luxating Patellas?
ness replied to Chequeredblackdog's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My young BC is off to the specialist on Tuesday re a possible luxating patella. I am so hoping the chiro vet is wrong . -
Nawww Ptolomy - well done with both Soggy and Strauss fantastic debuts by the sounds of things.

dasha you sound like me and I have had my youngster out indefinitely on no training sessions and its been just as hard on me because of all the inadvertent interactions I have that normally would end up in a game of something.

Hmmm maybe I should hunt out some metal tins - I HATE METAL - no KENZ HATES METAL . We made progress, we went backwards, we made progress, we went backwards we ended up backwards . We did have a nice impromptu game of find the scent stick underneath the sprinkler up at the university this afternoon. She was most upset when she lost the scented one and couldn't find it. Funny I couldn't find it either.

Thanks Ptolomy - yeah do have to keep her brain ticking over at the moment otherwise she has other ideas on what she should be doing .

Time for me to post something of a brag. I just took Kenz who has been out of action for well over 12 months and not done much of anything outside to do a set of articles. I can't remember the last time I put out articles for her - may even have been November 2010 . She is still my baby novice dog who has only dabbled in UD exercises. I can count the number of times we have attempted articles on one hand just about well blow me away but she just nailed 3 for 3. My biggest issue is still having her retrieve the metal but there is absolutely nothing wrong with her scent work. I left the metal for the third one and she found the correct metal, picked it up and then got "thingy" about it. No second guessing, no baby dog not sure or insecure moments and she wasn't even reading it off me as I deliberately put myself half out of sight. God she is such a good little girl - fingers crossed we can get back to trialling this year she is really something a little bit special and she knows it.

After driving past a car that had been rear ended and seeing the back totally crumpled I am not sure I would be keen to put dogs in a boot anytime soon. Mine travel on the back seat.

well I dusted off my mouse mat and worked on some UDX sendaways with the stir crazy feral wild child while I was sitting watching the tennis. Oh she had me in complete fits of laughter. She was trying to do things at a zillion miles an hour. . We did actually get somewhere though but it was hilarious watching her throw herself into a drop and then realize she was suppose to be sitting on the mat. A little over zealous. Then she just decided she knew what I wanted and ended up barking at me. Gah - anybody would think she hasn't trained in months .

This was posted elsewhere - a free Oct 2011 issue of Clean Run and I opened it and discovered an article on tugging. Might be worth a read I had a quick glance of it earlier. http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3084

Agility And Obedience Classes
ness replied to aussielover's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I tend to leave mine in the car if the weather is ok and not to warm. I will get them out of the car to train and they will go back in the car when they have had their turn. -
I was going to say the same - I got 37 for what I would have thought was the best recall Kenz had done in a trial. I am picky but on this occasion her front was dead on, her finish was dead on and I know when she isn't. I got 39/40 for one which were I don't think the present was as spot on and her finish as possibly a tad squiffy in my eyes.

Hmm RS my two BCs + crate come in around 26-27kg (and Kenz is only 14kg).
-
My 11 year old BC was from memory $450 - 11 years ago. I know the going rate on BCs at the moment is around the $1000 mark.

Goodonya Ptolomy - maybe you should do it with both Beans and Lexi - if your going to get up at the crack of dawn to train one dog you might as well do both .
