Not sure but in SA when we bought Ness it was fairly common practice for breeders to register "show" pups and sell the rest without papers. Admittedly that was nearly 12 years ago now. I know of a couple of similar aged BCs to her around in the state who are from registered breeders but are without papers. I also know of people who were offered a pup without papers for a lesser price then one with papers but again of a similar "vintage" to Ness.

The hardest part I am having with Kenz is turning a blind eye to the fact her gait is really off at the moment. As I said to the physio and she is with me on this - after 18 months of lame dog on and off you become so tuned in to the slightest bit being sore and its really hard to untrain yourself out of worrying. She has told me its perfectly normal with that much imbalance though and to ease up on the stressing . She did also jokingly say Kenz has till December to be back to 100% because after that her lameness quota of time is completely exhausted.. And I might add 5-10 min of walking seems like sweet bugger all .

Kenz did 6 weeks of fairly strict rest. Becomes a way of life. We have been out this morning and for the first time in ages she was allowed to walk inside from the car off-lead and not carried in to the house. She has been allowed to walk a little in the house but only on a short lead and no more then necessary. She trotted in to the house and went straight out to the back room to put herself away in the crate . She is upstairs with me at the moment and has put herself away in her upstairs crate. I guess that part hasn't changed. After 3-4 weeks I wasn't even bothering closing the crate up unless I left the room as she knew the drill. . I only really have to be careful about making sure I carry her up and down the stair case and that she doesn't go chasing things.

Good to hear all the other "lame" DOL dogs are doing ok. Kenz's road to recovery has been a little rocky but we are still madly hoping another 6 week sees the back of all her lameness episodes. She had her follow up appointment with the specialist last Friday which wasn't completely good news. She had a physio appointment yesterday who is less concerned about the current equation and who has said with that level of muscle wastage she would be expected to still be having problems as there is no support to keep things where they should. So the next 6 weeks are time for serious muscle rebuilding and fingers crossed we are over the worst of things. And the good news Kenz is allowed to "roam" around the house . Hmmm until I reminded the specialist she isn't the sweet, quiet well behaved dog he gets to see in the consult room. Still she is allowed more freedom at home but is still not allowed to be stupid.

Poor Rommi OSS . Kenz is 6 weeks post surgery today - back to the specialist tomorrow. I think this thread must be jinxed as far as lame dogs is concerned. Hoping for a hugely successful surgery and a speedy healing process.

Having been through a luxating patella diagnosis (and now 6 weeks post surgery) with my youngster which was not that easy to discover it could be a possibility. I actually thought in her case it might have been a partial cruciate - worst nightmare on an athletic dog but she was on rest for a shoulder injury and it was only when she had been rested and on restricted exercise that the luxating patella was diagnosed. Prior to that she had brilliant muscle mass holding the patella in and nobody could get it to budge. I had 2 ortho specialists, a physio and a chiro vet look over her hind end to come up with nothing. Definitely worth getting a good physio or chiro to have a look.

What about something like these - http://www.rushtotug.com/collarspg.html

Love the video commentary on your finals video amypie . Well done again.

Kenz seems to have decided to put herself in her crate upstairs in the evening rather than the cuddler bed and has avoided the incident happening again (least the last 3 nights) so far but I do tend to agree with you Ptolomy. Better to avoid the problem then have it surface until she has been back to see the specialist. It still makes no sense. She is actually avoiding the bed during the day as well mostly now, preferring to take herself into the crate. Maybe she knows something I don't.

If you check out some of the older Adelaide DOL meet photo threads you can probably get a good idea of what the one at Eastwood is like.
-
The place we normally meet for DOL meets would possibly work for you Parkeyre. Its fairly central - located near the city. Its not super huge but its fenced and there are picnic tables (a BBQ) and even kids play equipment. ETA. However its probably not the most brilliant venue as far as photography is concerned. Its got lots of trees so has dappled shade.

Finals results are up on the website now .

Way to go Scoota, Brookie and Strauss - nice to see both your handlers managed to keep their acts together today and what a way to finish off your titles . Fantastic performance again. Huge congratulations and hopefully lots of celebrations.

I definitely think send them a card. I know from all Kenz's specialist has told me about the results of various surgeries with other clients he is always appreciative of the good news stories down the track.
-
He looks to be doing well - lots of good stuff in there .
-
Way to go RV and Toby - tried to watch the video but says its private .
-
He has recovered really well MG . about the not being as strict as you should have during recovery.
-
Kenz's half sister Spryte was in masters jumping 400 .
-
I am not really convinced its normal I am just convinced he is trying to not make me stress out to much . But she has done nothing that should have interfered with the surgery so I guess thats why the specialist is pretty confident all is still fine.
