  1. Looking good RS. Just on the RH/LH issue what happens if you just send her through the poles without running alongside. Will she drive through the poles to a target? One thing I did instead of the 2 lots of 6 poles was to then go back and add 2 poles at a time so dog drives 6 without my support, then add another 2 so the dog is driving to the end of 8, then 10 and then the 12. If the dog is able to compete the poles without you supporting them (and she looks to take off to them without any issue so I think if she doesn't already you couldn't build it) then you may have less issue with the RH side. Just a thought.
  2. jr_inoz - well Kenz's body has held up ok to running at the beach for slightly longer then she has been use to. Maybe she might be able to do some herding :).
  3. Thanks for the offer RJ. Still not sure Kenz's body is physically up to it but I am sure she would love to.
  4. yeah she is waiting on you TheLBD. She says she will be adopted by anybody with sheepie access . She isn't fussy so long as there are sheep involved in the equation.
  5. Kenz is still working on moving in with your friend just so she can play sheepies . Hope the weather is kind to you for the clinic.
  6. Will be interesting to see how your dog goes on it to dancinbcs.
  7. try having your retrieve crazy dog on crate rest post-surgery. I was getting 5mm twigs as possible fetch items anytime we went out for a supervised toilet break .
  8. Thanks for posting a comment re your own experience airedaler. I think that is one of the hardest things with dogs is they can't actually tell you either way whether its helping (even slightly) - well at least not directly.
  9. Teekay - I also have a similar nervy reserved dog and would definitely recommend a behaviorist if you can afford it. Even if you think you know what your doing its much better to get guidance if you think it could possibly be a problem in the long run. My only regret was not doing so sooner.
  10. I came across this product just before Christmas and I am currently trying it with my young Border Collie who has had a number of intermittent lameness issues. I have had her on other joint supplements previously (both Joint Guard and Glyde) but thought this one sounded interesting after I had read over the website and figured it was worth giving a go. She has been on it for about a fortnight so far so still a little early to tell for sure if its making any appreciable difference to her issues. I just wondered if anybody else has tried it or is aware of the product. http://rosehipvitalcanine.com.au/
  11. Michael Ellis puts out some good dvds Elise.
  12. I am happy to loan you some dvds and some of the SG Foundation Stuff. I am not sure whereabouts in SA you are but they are of no use to me for the moment as my agility dog has been retired so of little use to me for the moment.
  13. Oh you and your friend totally suck Dova. Its not fair you have your own sheepies to play with . Kenz tried her hardest to convince your friend she needed another dog to play with but she didn't manage to convince her. I did hear you had been doing a good job though .
  14. Noooo just send the spare red kids for a holiday here Ptolomy .
  15. Had to wonder about Zoe and the kids when I heard the news. Very scary.
  16. So we are nearly through the extra month and nothing has changed really. Still having random intermittent lameness episodes which are proving impossible to capture on video. She has had a few which look way to much like the patella slipping. Does anybody know if its possible for the patella to continue to worsen even though she has had surgery given it reluxated a bit. The physio has suggested she needs to do some balance disc type work to build on core strength and she has an appointment this coming Thursday to see where we are at.
  17. Ah fair enough I forgot you did . All the best with your new purchase.
  18. RV my brother who is in the industry opted for the 60D over the 7D and while he has access to both through work he still thought the 60D was better and I know its one of the main cameras they use. Just something worth considering.
  19. FR you should consider Rally if you haven't already. Novice Rally is probably a little easier then a CCD trial and a great place to test the waters because you can talk to your dog if needs be and the length of time you are in the ring is only about half as long.
  20. And what about Piper and Rally-O - go on I think you should . No training goals for either of mine for 2013. All I really want is one 24 hour period without a lame Kenz . As for the old girl Ness, she can keep doing as she is and enjoy her semi-retirement. We may try for her Track 3 if she is still up to it when tracking resumes.
  21. Goodonya Ptolomy. At least Moo knew what he was doing even if you didn't .
  22. SAODC had Rally at their October trial but I doubt it will happen at the March evening trial because of a lack of ring space under lights. Dover/Gawler/SAODC were the city clubs that hosted Rally-O trials this year. And yes the schedules will go in the mag in the lead up (as they do for other events). Some of the club websites may also post listings of what may be at the trial. There is the SA obedience page (http://www.dogobediencesa.com/obediencecalendar2012.html) which also contains a calender of events and may list the Rally-O trials once that information is made public.
