Hmm let me get the ball rolling: Lochness CDX ADX JDX JDO SPD GD (1/3 SD, 1/5 ADO, 3/7 ADM, 6/7 JDM, 3/5 JDO2) And we are still working at it . Hopefully this year we can add a UD and start towards her OC.

Could you buy some cheap carpet runners/floor rugs? ETA You could always work arvos other than training arvo . You will be in very good hands at trinity garden and your dog will learn lots of useful pet dog manners rather than the strict obedience trial ring manners.
-
Yep I mean the trinity gardens one - bugger that is a much better club then Gepps Cross.

Hey Koba - its my intention to come out on Mon (as in Mon week not tomorrow night) so I'll see you there. Ness has a 36" vari kennel (airline approved for when we fly). It your intending to go by plane on more than a few occasions best to fork out the money for an airline approved one. I paid $240 from the canine association. The airlines have very strict size requirements but basically the dog needs to be able to stand up and turn around and lay down comfortably. The one you linked to should be plenty big enough. I added extra as the staffie type breeds seem to like lying with there legs totally spread out whereas BCs tend to like to curl up .

Hey Koba - Ness has a 91 ish cm length crate you might want to get the next size up. If you don't want a portable one Deals Direct have drop pin ones which are nice and roomy. Just heavy and a pain to move around but would probably be ok if you wanted it set up somewhere permanently. ETA. What about teaching Willow to stay on a mat/dog bed inside. That way you can have the mat/bed wherever you are and it doesn't take up room . Would only work if she was supervised but its less restricting then a crate and means if you then wanted to move rooms you could take the mat with you.

Yep amypie go the Fur - reckon K will like that better being a terrier .
-
Slacker amypie - Ness does love her furry ones over the fleecy ones .

Somebody in WA makes them as well. I have also seen them on the Callicoma website. http://www.callicoma.com.au/leads1.htm Right down the bottom.

I keep threatening but the Ness decided to pull her act together and work her little white socks off and now well that idea has gone on hold . Besides Ptolomy keeps threatening me with a whip when I consider retiring her cos she can work absolutely brilliantly when she wants and proved that to me in her first UD trial .
-
Ptolomy what about all the other WA clubs? ETA. Does that mean you have to titre test each year too or are they valid for longer than a year?
-
Some kennels don't but I presume Ptolomy would .

We were having a discussion about this this afternoon and I figured Ness would be well and truely covered after 7 years of vaccinations. My friends dog is only just over 2 and is due for another one and just to be safe since the dog in question isn't known to have problems I said maybe go one more and then opt to titre. Given the incidence of parvo in particular I would have thought if the dog was likely to have had a problem and unacceptable level titre level the dog would have contracted it. The only problem in all this is what are the obedience clubs going to accept. I mean common sense would say that after 7 years of vaccinations a dog should well and truely be covered and I wouldn't even bother a titre test. Difficult situation. I started off giving yearly and then pushed it out and out to about 18 months, the maximum I can get away with and train at a club don't know what I do next year though as she will be due again around August .

Callicoma kelpies have good tracking harness's if you don't want to pay the price of a black dog one. My friend who tracks with her border collie really likes the callicoma one .

Ptolomy - you know next time she comes to visit we might decide to keep her. Besides which I think your selling yourself short - for everybody else who doesn't know her Ptolomy has brilliant dogs and is a brilliant instructor too . -
Nope I wouldn't say anything against that club - my friends instruct there and I might drop out for a visit this year . I do agility at SAODC (train Wed night just off the Race Course) which is ok but you have to have passed there grade 5 obedience first. Agility Dog Club at West Beach is the only specialist agility club (and therefore doesn't have an obedience requirement). I have heard good things about there beginner training . They train on a Thursday night. Will chat on Sunday at the meet. There is an agility trial at West Beach on Saturday evening if you wanted to come and have a look and see what goes on.
-
Where abouts are you located and which club do you do obedience at?
-
Interesting the definition of twilight seems to vary - Obedience think starting at 6pm is a good idea (but are known to delay if its to hot at the start), next weekend the agility trial starts at 7pm and like I said last weekends was 8pm.
-
Nope I am not competitive LP I am only out to achieve my own goals :D ............
-
All I can say is geez she is finally getting her act together after all these years :D .
-
Definition PAX .
-
It was very pleasant in Adelaide last night when the trial got underway at 8pm PAX .

LP so what did you have to brag about since you tried to start your own brag thread - sorry can't help it that Ness has decided to make 2008 HER year . Maybe I should start my own 2008 Brag thread cos I am hoping the brags will be plentiful and BIG . Looks like the year has gone off with a cracker of a start.

Nah PAX move to WA with Ness and I
