  1. Nah Ptolomy thats just red dogs for you - told you you should have got yourself a black and white . Besides we all know Scoota thinks he is a girl anyway.
  2. I will most certainly 2tollers. I agree Riv really does look like a tiny version of a toller and he acts like it as well - certainly very un cavie like  .
  3. LOL 2tollers thats what I said about Riv. Riv is a friends cavie x who lives here in Adelaide. Tash sorted out putting Ptolomy's video on the web.
  4. Awww Ptolomy I didn't think I have sent that many in the last little while . But yes I just said to LP you do lots of 5 minute sessions with your kids and yes you do plan VERY well .
  5. Ptolomy you forgot to add in your "spare time" your also number one training advisor and answer my zillion emails on how to train a dog for UD . ETA. I just have the one at the moment soon to be 2 I hope .
  6. Wouldn't that depend Arya on if you only train in a formal posture. I will for example ask for distance control stuff when I am standing, sitting, laying on the ground anything so I guess it wouldn't hold true.
  7. Awwww LP just wait till you get into the UD ring that is NEVER stressful. Unless of course you have the two gurus standing outside the ring ready to beat you if you don't do everything they have said for you to do. Actually the only time I have been seriously stressed was when I had her in both open and UD and wasn't sure which I would be in first. By the time I got in the ring on Sunday I was over being stressed and it was actually quite fun :D .
  8. I agree with what dogdude says and you would get more out of it if you didn't take the dogs. Having said that lots of people do bring dogs down to trials and as long as they aren't going to cause trouble they would probably be fine. If you haven't already done so I would at least pass a glance over the rulebook and maybe find somebody attending who you know and ask if you can tag along with them. I have explained to new people before whats going on in the ring and I am sure some of the experienced triallers would be more than happy to explain what is happening. So long as they aren't just about to go in the ring I don't think people would mind.
  9. Hmm I wasn't going to brag but I will anyway. Ness was in her third UD trial on Sun and was last dog in the ring so it was VERY warm by the time we got on not to mention she had been sitting around for ages. Well she worked very well - was up happy and enthusiastic. Did a lovely seekback that if not for copping a substantial for failing to sit would have scored her close on perfect marks. She will give some of those top dogs a run for their money when she gets it together . And finally we have a Directed retrieve that is to die for :p . 19/20 best one done in the ring out of all the dogs. It was the last exercise I trained and its never been one I have been overly confident in yet on the weekend there was clear cut proof she was taking direction. Yee har!!!!!!!!!! Overall for the 15 minutes we were in the ring her tail didn't stop wagging and given the conditions weren't easy for a green utility dog who hasn't been able to train much in the past couple of weeks because of my injured ankle she did VERY VERY well.
  10. Yep I am using that stick that Ptolomy loaned out to me ;) . Scent work is a bitch LOL. Have LOTS of fun with it you might be there for a few years ;) . ETA. No need to congratulate LP anymore can't have Leo or LP becoming big headed can we ;)
  11. Way to go Ptolomy and Em (not to mention the fact her baby Beans passed in MJ and was 5 seconds under STC) and she also managed a pass with the dear sore Scoota in OJ. 22 runs well hmmmmmmmm that was just enough to keep you busy wasn't it. No need to pay for a gym membership handling that many dogs although you are surely use it it by now. Only you would be silly enough to have 5 dogs qualify for the Western Classic Obedience on the one evening!!!!!
  12. What command do you use for stay??? a generic stay - maybe you could change the command to sit (for the sit stay and drop/down for the down stay) and work on building duration.
  13. Ness isn't great in the heat - darn black coated dogs. I will see how it is and make the call before we go into the ring.
  14. Ditto its not good especially on the dogs. They could at least hold night time trials. I can imagine by after lunch tomorrow it will be just a wee bit too warm. So whats the verdict do I attempt to trial her in a cool coat. Not something I have ever done before but I have zero to no hope of getting her through in that temp.
  15. We have the same here forecast tomorrow - 25 and a 10am start. Not to mention the pony club are apparently having a gymkana and the GSD club are training inside the grounds where they usually have the UD/Open rings so UD will be outside in the sticks with the rest of them. May as well not show up now. Although I did attempt a couple of jumps with Ness's cool coat on today on the off chance she is on later in the trial and I decide to trial her in it. Good to see she can still jump. ETA Oops no make that 27 .
  16. Hmm I tried it at heel and as expected I got a nose touch to the leg rather than to the hand. But she would hold duration on that without a problem. ETA. LP cos i am working from home as well.
  17. Nope its not so I'll go back into the thread where I belong - save this one for LP.
  18. I told yah LP you should have got yourself a BC
  19. - get over it LP just cos your jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Argh where is Ptolomy she is the best for telling people to get over it . ETA. Starting to get the feeling I'll need my own thread with all the brags to come this year .
  20. Well I might post in here as well - apparently a sprained ankle isn't a disaster when it comes to having to run in agility trial .
  21. Thanks everybody for the congratulations .
  22. Way to go Xena - well I should say Reddii nice to know one of us acts like a BC . Nope what made me decide to run was the fact she was soooo sooky - head in my lap like mum come play with me. How can you not given to those eyes. Glad I did .
  23. Ankle today is a bit stiff but doesn't seem as bad as I thought it might be after running yesterday. Although I can't wipe the smile off my face after her JDM title .
