about the swapping bit - hmmmm actually I quite like my mellowed couch potato sometimes (especially compared to her youngster sister who wakes up full of life - my sleep ins exist no longer and she is now 14 months old so I thought she might start letting me sleep in again ).

Kavik - I read your post re Diesel and thought Ptolomy will back me up here if she sees this but it just sounded like one of many emails I have written to her over the years regarding Ness. She just wasn't interested and I have long been through the "I Give Up With Training" thought pattern. Harder for me because at the time I was comtemplating this I didn't have another dog to train. Much easier now as I just go oh well Ness you don't want to train thats fine by me. I know where you are coming from with the not having the energy to train. Its even harder when the contrast to dog 2 is so apparent. I get my youngster out and she is bursting at the seams to try even without the presence of food or toys. She just loves to work. In the end I wonder if its worth it - just enjoy the dogs for who they are. Having said that I have persisted with Ness as she reinforces me randomly enough to think there is hope. If she was continually going nah I don't want to then I probably wouldn't.

Have you back chained the full size a-frame? So have the dog jump on from the side and resume the contact position? Did you proof the behavior on the low size aframe before raising the height to the full size? You mention that you have only just started the a-frame last week - Why the sudden rush to get it to full heigh (understand that might be a club issue though and out of your control).

Oh yeah RubyStar thats right there is a spare bed over in WA isn't there (especially if it comes with an Aussie pup :p ).

Awwww piglet could come live with me LP - sure Kenzie would love her . Might have to divorce my parents though (can you do that ). You know she would be thoroughly spoiled and could play at agility, obedience, tracking and herding .

Not many trials coming up to test that theory mind you. Trials in anything seem to be a bit thin on the ground over the next 2 months. I think Kenzie has finally worked out how to use her back end on her left about/left turns as I was messing around on the front pathway earlier today and she was doing some very nice pivots. Should really do something about a SFE though . Well at least I now have a stand stay while I throw food around, toys around and she will let me do a SFE. Now to recruit some assistants.

Xena - hopefully she replicates the trialling issues in the mock trial ring for you. I should probably come and do both of mine but we will see how I feel and if I manage to train between now and then.
