Which would that be Janba . I have actually heard they are both nice .

Relax you will do brilliantly I am sure. The dogs don't need you anyway .
-
your more organised than me so far Dova. I still haven't thought about charging the video camera yet , or making sure there is space on it hehehehe. Sure you will do great .
-
Oh yep forgot about Woodville - thanks for pointing that one out Piper .

Canine Behavioral School at Trinity Gardens Primary School on a Monday night is a great pet focused reward based club. Not sure what there current waiting list is like on enrolments though. Link to their website: http://www.positivelydogs.com/index.htm Ooops I saw after that you want a Sunday morning club so that might not be any good. Adelaide Pet Dog Training appear to run a class at Burnside Primary on a Sunday morning. Slightly more expensive then the CBS option but all of the instructors who instruct at Adelaide Pet Dog training I think also instruct at CBS. http://www.petdogtraining.com.au/smallgroupclass.html

God all this herding talk is confusing - . Heaven help Kenzie if we decide to go any further all this PT stuff sounds complicated. I have to say I did learn a bit helping out as scribe last year at the duck trial before that my herding knowledge was absolutely zero .

You keep reading those bedtime stories to the sheep Dova I am sure they will get you through (although don't think your dogs will need it somehow from what I hear).
-
LOL its all good Piper I am sure it will be ok and if not there is always the next one . I am just having a dig at Dova more than anything . Off to deliver entries tonight . Pretty sure there is no chance that midget dog will decide to eat sheep, although I might not feed her lamb for breakfast on the day of the test .

Hmm got to be better then Kenzie who doesn't have one at all .
-
Slacker RubyStar . Hmm I can loan you the rest of the work if I can please borrow one SFE .
-
Besides which we all know those WA dogs are in a class of their own ANYWAY so what hope have I got . I couldn't even finish off a third place behind two of their top dogs at the Royal last year.

I am full of excuses RubyStar. The plan was to originally have Kenzie ready but I still think I am pushing my luck and probably not worth upsetting her by chucking her on a plane at this point in her life. Ness is almost a bit past it now and I am having to rethink my plan of trying for her UD and thinking it might be to hard for her .
-
Nah thats not an excuse Whitka . WA has always been kind to me but not sure Ness could match it with the big names and midget dog probably won't be mature enough to handle the additional stress of trialling interstate.
-
RubyStar - pretty sure the WA States are open to anybody - even Miss Ness has a CDX pass from the WA State trials - along with a qualifying ribbon . Should also add it was her first trial in open and 3 trials later she polished off pass 3 for her title all while on holiday .
-
Only if I win x-lotto Ptolomy (or better still find a job in WA ).
-
- awwwwwwwwwww yep you will look after them really well and tell them bed time stories about how to let everybody pass.
-
Dova is going to bribe the sheep during the week . I said to her could she please just have words to them to not stick in the corners of the pen during Kenzie's instinct test so she has some hope of showing enough to pass this time .
-
Well done superminty .

Yep of course I got miss Kenzie videoed . Gawd some of my handling is horrid though and I really need to teach the poor girl to turn rather than expecting it. Oops and do finishes. I gave her a command to heel after the recall and then went oh crap she doesn't do that yet . Well at least not on the command heel . She has a sort of flip finish on the command close . Here is the video - she is very rough around the edges still but you have to remember this is my nervous, shy dog so to have even worked as well as she did, considering I was prepared for total shut down I am just chuffed.

My turn for a brag - not trial related but I took both of mine out to a mock obedience trial today. I put Ness in UD and Kenzie in Novice - was tossing up between doing CCD and Novice but when I got there there were already plenty of CCD dogs already listed and I didn't feel like staying all day and not all that many Novice dogs and besides we only train off-lead anyway. Ness was pretty average - did some nice heelwork but the rest of her UD seems to have fallen into that hole that all UD performances go into . Kenzie on the other hand worked her little black and white socks off. No its not perfect and its still a huge work in progress. No she still doesn't have a stand for exam and neither have I forced the issue on her yet. Her heelwork was nice. She was happy to play with me in the ring with a potentially "scary" judge. In fact she hardly even noticed the judge. Her inattention in parts was a typical novice problem and more a training issue as I tend to not push for duration and she hasn't really done to much in the way of called heel patterns. She had fun on her recall - hmmm note to self train a longer distance recall as it was much longer then I thought. She did a very nice change of position drop and even when the judge left me standing there for ages before returning and I thought she might move she stayed put until I returned and released her ;) . All up I am very pleased with my little stress head black and white munchkin. With her performance today I can see her working to her true potential in a trial ring (rather than what I know she is capable of but when I try and run her through at training she just panics and loses the plot). Gives me hope and makes me think its worth continuing and working through it all slowly. Any way hope everybody else had a good weekend out .

Way to go TSD . Huge Congratulations to both you and Ziggy .

Vickie - what would you clasify as a medium dog? I have a potentially midget BC and I am undecided about her contacts. I am leaning towards 2o/2o because I think she is small enough (and only weighs 13kg) that there won't be to much strain placed on her anyway. She has done limited contact training so far but I did put her on a lowered a-frame last night along with her sister both in a 2o/2o position. Actually found it a good proofing exercise for my older one as I would send them both onto it have them turn around and assume the 2o/2o. At first the youngster was confused and would break so I would reward Ness for staying put. Kenzie soon realized what was being rewarded .

Actually I think the novice people get it easy as they usually get through the dogs quickly, each dog taking roughly 5 minutes or so. Try being in UD where each dog takes at least 10-15 minutes and being towards the end. Most of the time you don't get on before lunch . Guess thats a luck of the draw.

Pm Tassie Kelpiechick she is sure to know . -
How much you have pissed off the trial secretaries in the past or how much they hate you apparently . Some I know do them in order of entries received for the lower classes - the higher classes are more complicated as people often have multiple entries to work around (although you might also have a person with a UD/Open dog and one trialling in Novice with a new dog). I know on the weekend one of the rings was organised in ascending height order (it was an open class).
