  1. Hmm can I have a brag - I was doing some COP with Kenzie and Ness tonight. Well Kenzie mainly, Ness was on the bed doing it as well so I would occasionally pay her. Any way Kenzie was doing a nice solid kickback stand from a sit with no forward movement. Pretty chuffed. Ness always comes forward .
  2. DOL is so good for that sort of stuff - we do like to brag about our dogs.
  3. Alright there is a bit on this video but it probably doesn't show how I taught it. Starts about 1 minute in.
  4. And here was your second pass 27th July 2008 at the Geelong Obedience Dog Club Trial: "Gamby did really well on Saturday morning. He got it together and got 28 for heel work. Wow what a bonus and got his 2nd pass in Novice as well as being the Geelong Obedience Dog Club's Highest Scoring Dog." Sorry link to post http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?s=&a...t&p=2864823
  5. Here is one pass: Quote: Hey Gambit gave me a great Easter Present by gaining a pass in his 1st ever Novice Trial at KCC Park on Easter Saturday with a score of 182 and 3rd place. That was posted on the 24th of March 2008. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;#entry2527482 LOL just did a search on your previous posts .Will have a look and see if you mentioned the second pass. Thank goodness for DOL.
  6. If you want a video I can probably video one and upload it.
  7. Ptolomy and if your boss said you could have an all expenses holiday and to take the rest of the month off does that come into the might consider category or would your productivity definitely increase on your return.
  8. Hmm nope not if that certain someone isn't me .
  9. Ditto JulesP I am getting soft. With my 9 year old we use to trek out to dog school regardless of the weather conditions. Now with my 15 month old I am quick to decide that staying home in the warm might be much more sensible. Thats not to say we won't head out for a walk in the rain - did that this morning, just figure sometimes that I can do that in the light and stay home when its cold and wet and dark . Also figure I can usually achieve a lot training at home inside anyway so no real point going to club, if I could work on something at home.
  10. you probably are Ptolomy but go Beans. Poor Moo sure he will find his form by the time he arrives in Brisbane - he is after all a seasoned traveller. Good luck .
  11. Interesting - yeah she wasn't happy with being measured so I think she is slightly more than that. My other girl though is only 465 so not big either. I did get told by somebody that I had a couple of shelties - this was when I had both of them at the dog pool one day quite a while ago . Kenzie has a lovely jumping action on her and also reads her jumps a lot better than Ness (or so it appears from the preliminary jump work I have done). I just need to teach Kenzie to concentrate on the jumps rather than on me or the toy . She is great at jump grids but when I start trying to sequence jumps normally then she will do one and then turn and grab me or run straight into the bar. If she is focused on the jump she has no hassle clearing the 500 jumps easily. ETA. Kavik, Kenzie would look positively midgety alongside a 570 dog. I have to laugh though as friends have a bull mastiff x rhodesian ridgeback - so a thumping great dog and Kenzie is absolutely besotted by him. He is so gentle with her though and its really quite funny to watch . Its not changed since she was tiny, he does occasinally get a bit rough though especially when they are off-lead although Kenzie can out run him anyway .
  12. Reddii I finally got my little girl measured and she is only 430/440mm so very small . But she doesn't have a long body either so is compact all over.
  13. I have a BC who is a small dog , but she runs like a BC.
  14. A member at our club presently trials a GSD in agility. The dog is presently trialling in both excellent agility and jumping.
  15. I would recommend getting hold of a copy of Control Unleashed by Leslie McDevitt. http://www.agilityclick.com/prod158.htm
  16. They are both well and truely buggered today although Kenzie thought my bedroom was a great place to do zoomies first thing this morning. Just to prove the video did work here are the links ;) . Instinct test is pretty boring mind you. Test 1: Test 2:
  17. Yep thanks the camera worked perfectly on Saturday ;) . Kenzie loves the sheep. Ness passed and finished 4th in Open obedience, no luck with the agility though.
  18. Well done Piper . Ness didn't finish off her agility titles today but she did put in an overly enthusiastic open obedience round for a pass but it was seriously messy.
  19. Yep Dover and Para would be the two clubs that I can think of that have flyball teams.
  20. Dova's 2 dogs worked very well - I happened to see them work .
  21. Dova won't be around until Monday as she had to return the sheep but she has 2 brags for both Izzie and Pebbles. As for Miss Kenzie - she managed to easily pass her 2 instinct tests this time around. Although I had to fight for a recall out of her as she decided to switch on a little more than I expected and she no longer had eyes for her mum and only really had eyes for the sheep . And yep both judges were lovely :p . One of them (Piper) even let me do my recall as far away from the sheep as I could possibly get and even then it took 2 attempts .
  22. Way to go Piper - now get your arse into the BC thread since I just gave you a nice lead in . It was just a shame I wasn't there early enough to see it. My brag is pretty minor in comparison but Kenzie managed to pass both her instinct tests and unlike the last time there was no fear of a lack of confidence this time around. She had fun and I think quite likes herding and has more ability then her older sister so we shall continue with it if we can get a chance.
