  1. Not just any Winpara puppy but Kenzie's half brother. Go Flyte .
  2. Well I am just back from training and I have decided I might not have a 200 dog yet but I can have 200 dog handling and my instructor who put us through tonight even complimented me on how much my handling had come up to speed since he last put us through (which wasn't that long ago ). Thanks Ptolomy for nagging me its obviously paying off. Now to get a couple of dogs onto the same page and I am sure of great things to come .
  3. I can tell you the top triallers I know who seem to be cleaning up wherever they travel to do not use ecollars .
  4. For anybody who wants a sticky at Flyte's Masters Jumping round from the finals - can be viewed here:
  5. I am going to add a brag here for somebody who doesn't frequent this section of the boards but is active in the breed subforum and besides why not the brag is about my baby girls older half brother. We had the SA State Agility Championships on the weekend and a friend of mine had bought 2 dogs over from WA - one of whom is Kenzie's half brother Flyte or Ch Winpara Soul Dragon CCD AD JDX ADO GD SPD ET . He has only recently just moved into masters jumping and it was only his second trial. Well not only did he qualify in two of the lead up trials to the finals (3 qualification trials and a finals) but he also won the class with a very speedy performance. He finished up the 2009 SA State Agility Champion Runner up in Masters Jumping and walked away with the 2009 SA State Agility Champion in Excellent Agiltiy. His finals run in Masters Jumping was run at a rate close to 7m/sec - not bad for a show bred dog and a baby one at that. He only turns 3 shortly. Hoping his half sister Kenzie has some of that speed (she already has his good looks ). Her other dog Brodie made it into the Masters Agility and Open Jumping final and had 2 nice finals runs with an unfortunate see-saw call in MA and a handler error in Open Jumping bringing over a bar. Good dog shame about the handler. Congratulations Brodie, Flyte and Di . Ness had an ok weekend with just a few minor hiccups - bugger of a dog doesn't seem to be in any great hurry to retire as she still needs one more MA and one more OA pass for her titles.
  6. LOL sounds like you shouldn't have gone shopping for so much stuff Ptolomy .
  7. Hehehe I was surprised you guys managed to stay up right in the ring today . In fact I thought maybe you guys were dirty stop outs and had spent all night partying too hard so had decided to skip today's trial :D .
  8. Well done Ptolomy (and Deb) but just cos you were so hard celebrating where was my update .
  9. Ptolomy - too much celebrating huh.
  10. She sure is - she is my inspiration and keeps me on the straight and narrow when times are tough . She is also my inspiration to stick to my guns and not allow others to get to me and to not give the game away after a tough training session. I have said many times to Ptolomy privately how I would be lost without her so might as well express the same sentiments publically . After all you have been through these past couple of weeks the gods thought you were in need of a special treat and this is your just deserts for your hardwork and dedication to your dogs and for being such a genuine kind and caring person who no matter what life throws at you in the way of curve balls is never to busy to be there to help others. Oh shit this has turned sooky but sorry mate you deserve it. A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS and this one goes into the bragging books for eternity and beyond.
  11. Goodonya - nah stuff the shaping we will just resort to bribes . Although think its time caffy and a certain other WA person paid another visit cos I am desperately after a couple of agility passes and they seem to be the required good luck charm.
  12. Now if only we could lure them back to SA for another holiday - appears we don't have the same appeal factor as Brisbane - hmmmmmmmm will have to work on it.
  13. Goodonya Caffy. The ever reliable Scoota came through again (as did the wonderful Brooklyn). Ptolomy and Deb are both such brilliant trainers and I have never seen the two of them flustered about anything. I marvel how Ptolomy can regularly have many red dogs entered on the one evening and she never seems to get flustered or she can go out and trial at big events and not appear nervous in the slightest. Man you guys are the epitomy of dog trainers (well I can think of a few others I would add to the list but they aren't reading this ) and I hope I can someday be as good a handler and trainer as you both are - still got some way to go mind you . You guys over in WA certainly know how to show the rest of Oz how good dogs can be when you only use positive training methods and hopefully the rest of Australia will take note.
  14. She is really awesome laffi - wish we could bottle her .
  15. Laff - man I guess I should feel honoured that she let me go stay with her for a fortnight and helped me train. Hmm maybe one of my girls can get a magic 200 one day .
  16. Go Ptolomy and Scoota - fantastic work.
  17. Agility and Jumping are one and the same. Not where were you live but if your any where near the canine grounds ACWA - Agility dog club of WA have fantastic foundation programs which you can commence from the age of 12 weeks. They train on a Tue night I think. About to head off to lunch but I can find the website when I return.
  18. in return for a full run down of the herding. I am hanging out for a masters agility and an open agility pass as she only needs 1 of each to finish off her titles. CD is Novice .
  19. Enjoy yourself Dova - we have a 2 day state agility trial this weekend so that should keep us entertained for the weekend.
  20. I was just grateful for the fact I only had to search through 5 pages of Gamby's posts. I would hate to try and find a brag I might have posted or some of the other chatterbox's on here . Take warning LP I am never going to offer to find a post you have written LOL.
  21. I would definitely do walk backwards before attempting a kick back stand. Makes life a bit easier if they know where there rear legs are. I never realized puppys could be fussy about food until I got my now 15 month old. She has only recently developed an appetite for food when training but still much prefers toys.
  22. Hey Star, I would also recommend teaching the dog to back up. Plenty of instructions out there if you haven't already. I think I tried a kick back stand earlier when my pup was tiny and ended up leaving it, went away and taught her to back up as it helps teach the dog where there rear legs are.
  23. Don't worry PAX there is no great rush. My baby finally has a reasonable training appetite and she is now 15 months. The gurus have said not to stress and it will happen when it happens .
