  1. Going to put a brag in as we can oh so close to a pass in UD today - if it wasn't for one bloody article . Never mind she put in a very nice round, posted some brilliant scores and hardly put a paw out of place. Not bad considering I was threatening to retire her earlier in the morning and make a BC floor rug out of her. Tickled pink with my Ness munchkin and Ptolomy is always right .
  2. I tried this tonight in the yard with my baby and 1 bar jumps. Hmmm our issue wasn't the fact she needed huge direction signals it was the fact she wouldn't wait for the direction in the first place. If she waited then she got the jump correct . Bloody agility dogs and their value for jumping.
  3. Zum is one seriously cute Toller .
  4. But really not sure how anybody can go past this .
  5. Border Collies do come in colours other than black and white .
  6. Awww what wouldn't consider a cute little border collie .
  7. Congratulations xena98, especially Gabby and the rest of your girls on an impressive weekend of trialling .
  8. Open winner was Smudge, Brooklyn second, Ben third.
  9. Well done Beans, Brooklyn and Scoota . Sounds like everybody is firing in time for Nationals .
  10. LOL I get the size comment with my two Border Collie's all the time. One is a fraction smaller then standard but the other is well and truely within standard. What I did laugh at is somebody once asked me if I had 2 shelties. I know you can get black and white shelties but still when you think sheltie you don't think of a black and white dog do you . Some guy did come up to me outside the shops the other day and ask what breed of Border Collie they were - hmmm yep next question . The other classic I had was somebody commented on my nice kelpie x - hmmmm since when do pedigree showline BCs look even remotely like a kelpie X .
  11. Hmm there was another one mentioned on ACA or something recently but I can't remember where he practiced - he was more "local". Ok just found it its Dr Christopher Hume-Phillips and he is at Clovelly Park. http://www.avca.com.au/member_detail.php?id=144 I haven't tried him. So not sure whether he is any good or not.
  12. Bugger about Dova you could always see if they will accept a late entry since they only closed yesterday .
  13. All the best with it - I am entered the following weekend at Southern/SAODC and then the weekend after at Dover so that will keep me busy .
  14. Rivsky will be there Dova :D . I would have been if I didn't have a conference to attend . Pretty sure xena98 will be there too.
  15. I'd probably be putting her in her puppy pen to give Darcy a break.
  16. jr I have tried the only one closer to our side of town because I was sick of the hike to see Matthew but went there once and never returned again as I wasn't happy with the way the dog was dealt or with the manner of the person doing the treatment. Not to mention the cost of the consult was more than I was paying to take her to Matthew by about 50%. So when necessary I will make the trek to take them to Matthew.
  17. Not sure my video is going to be much help Seita - even Kenzie is just offering to go to the box from whatever distance I send her from so probably not much assistance in the how to train.
  18. Oh yeah sorry - hopefully the weather with cooperate tomorrow all our areas I could video presently look like a chinese laundry .
  19. I think she is still in the process of completing SnT but I do know she thinks its worth doing as she keeps suggesting that when I have finished my PhD and have time to study other things then I should really do the course . Not sure where I would find the dollars though as it isn't cheap to do .
  20. The other thing which somebody suggested to me is to raise the box so the dog was physically having to step into it. Is suppose to make them more aware of the fact they are doing something in relation to the object. If Ella/you haven't done much shaping then maybe try it on something not obedience related to get her into the swing of the game before reintroducing/trying the process with the box.
  21. Don't tell me he is still broken Ptolomy - Ness has broken boxes too at the moment . Maybe I should do a video with her instead. I am sure Scoota will be fine by the weekend you still have a few days to unbreak him and just as well there will be no weavers in the middle of the UD ring at the Royal :p .
  22. I wouldn't worry about using a target as the box is essentially a big target. Sue H showed at her seminar in Adelaide how to shape the dog going into the box and its a very quick process and the method I had already used with my baby. If it would help Seita I can try and do a video tomorrow using Kenzie.
  23. Ah yeah fair enough RS well let me know either way .
