  1. Ness learnt dog in a box by watching a dog at training. Kenzie has learnt all Ness's freestyle tricks in a matter of minutes by copying Ness .What got me though was that Kenzie was doing them first time and better the Ness and that was only after watching Ness for 30 seconds or so :D .
  2. :p PAX - am jealous that you get to train with Vickie - maybe I should come visit .
  3. So since Ptolomy has shown Rivsky how to celebrate in fine fashion then so I will be expecting big things .
  4. Hey Rivsky - when you get your CDX I think we should just have cake at one of our training sessions  .
  5. Way to go Rivsky and River :D . Bring on Masters . Was thinking it would have been a nice night to trial in the end as it was very pleasant out there .
  6. I removed one that was starting to embed out of Kenzie's front paw last week and we haven't even walking at places where I would have thought there were too many grass seeds. Just goes to show you can't be to careful.
  7. I always picking up Kenzie and placing her on the down ramp of her contacts. Just as well she is only 14kg .
  8. Sure there are plenty of contact experts at ACWA . My thought is stick with 2o/2o. I know your probably though have you back chained on the full size contact too. Given he is only small you should be able to pick him up and place him ok. I know Kenzie is a bit the same. She is pouncing the bottom of her scramble and not missing the colour but isn't always doing a 2o/2o. I just give her a NRM and wait for her to go back into position but she is still in the learning stages.
  9. Keisha will show you an i-squeak next time we meet up .
  10. You can get I-squeaks in Oz they are just about twice to three times the price that you can get them from Clean Run for.
  11. I ordered 6 for the midget last week. Now waiting impatiently for them to arrive and in the meantime am keeping a close eye on her 1 so that it doesn't get lost anywhere else she would have no ball until the others arrive.
  12. Yeah the triple crown foam ones - less tooth wear I am hoping .
  13. my last order was all foam balls mostly . Yeah i-squeaks rock just ask Ptolomy :D . Yep they are just like cuz without the feet.
  14. I don't need free shipping as an excuse to shop at Clean Run - the good aussie dollar at the moment was enough of a draw card .
  15. Wonder if something like Zoff would work. That is what I had recommended for removing glue when I was gluing my girls ears down as a pup. Not sure if it would work on chewing gum or not but you get it at the chemist.
  16. Ooooh who in Adelaide angelsun - I would love to go and happy to help organise but couldn't get a club to support it and we were hunting around for a venue. Happy for a PM.
  17. Hmm not sure Dogdude - she is just feral . She has never been a real foodie so I used a lot of toys with her when she was little. Probably part of the issue as I find you don't quite get the same precision with rewarding as you can with food. Also BCs I have found do tend to want to wrap anyway . Even my older girl does it when she is in the mood . Have been doing plenty of pivoting on the spot and slow pace and rewarding her for keeping her back end in but its a very slow process.
  18. dogdude - I have to laugh my major problem at the moment is having too much motivation - er yep never thought I'd say that but if somebody didn't find heeling so inherrently rewarding she might just give enough to allow me to walk a straightline . My youngest girl seems to give me 200% regardless of if I have anything to reward her or not.
  19. Think I am going to have to report you Terra - your poor neglected dogs .
  20. Hey Zug Zug, No need to join up to their local canine, if you can find somebody to provide you with a trial schedule (photocopy it or just provide details), you just submit your normal trial form as you would for entering a local trial in Adelaide and then show up on the day .The obedience style entry forms are valid nationwide .
  21. One other bit of UD advice - although I probably don't listen enough to or follow up on in hindsight it is that don't be stuck into going all the way through if the dog messes up. I find the more mistakes the dog makes the more it starts to go pearshaped and especially in UD. I think I made a mistake of trying to get through it all even if the dog was making errors for the sake of doing so rather getting one exercise correct and then withdrawing or even just withdrawing and then going and doing some outside the ring with her so it wasn't a negative experience. I know occasionally its nice to test out all the exercises in a ring but in the long run I am not sure its done us too many favours. My general rule is that errors due to anticipation I will continue or over enthusiasm and I will continue but anything else I excuse myself from the ring.
