  1. well if you are ordering let me know . Kenz was raiding the larger ones off my desk earlier but they aren't so practical for training. ETA. 25 is $37 shipping 30 is $42 shipping 40 is $42 shipping
  2. Ptolomy - I am regretting not having stocked up on the small i-squeaks with my last clean run shopping - Kenz loves them . I was out doing some 2o/2o contact work with her and had taken out a handful of food to use as a reward. Er yeah sure mum I would give Kenz a bit of food and she would store it in her mouth waiting for the toy reward and then nearly choked herself with the food .
  3. Right I will place my order Ptolomy for one serving of Lexi's Directed Jumping in a few weeks time pretty please . Way to go Lexi .
  4. Ok this is my glove 1 and 2 turn - (obviously only 1 retrieve but I turn the same way for both gloves). And some very old footage when she was very green but you should be able to see the two turns that I do . ETA. Nope the dog doesn't go around behind me we are essentially just pivoting into position. Here we go I found a glove 3 - Well the first one got a 20 and the second glove would have scored a 19 under Dave Rumble and I am pretty sure the mark off was a shitty finish because she usually finishes to far around.
  5. Hmmm not sure how I'd describe mine . I go back a 1/4 turn for a glove 3 and go the other way for glove 1 and 2. Hopefully somebody will come in and describe it better then I do .
  6. Will have to think about it might be a few things going against it.
  7. Gloves are definitely broken but we did manage some very nice heelwork at the oval x 2.
  8. Kenz will be 2 in April - so yep will be old enough for the ET.
  9. I should try with my youngest. Oldest is to old now ;) . Not sure I could do 20km on a bike though .
  10. They always do kathq - sometimes having them videoed is the only reason you can appreciate how nicely they have worked .
  11. The one that I could never get over and the guy got a serving and a half was when we were at an off-lead park. My girl (a BC) was minding her own business and his lab came over and things turned nasty - his dog decided to go at mine and their owner decided to kick my dog. Never mind the fact it was all noise and I was there and took mine by the collar all within a few seconds with his dog still trying to go mine and him trying to kick mine. Did he cop a serving and a half from me that day. My view is kicking is never acceptable if you have alternative means to prevent the dog getting close. I would prefer body blocking the approaching dog and yelling to the owners if its for all intensive purposes friendly but mine would rather not interact with it.
  12. Hmm can probably help you out on a stand stay without jumping forward and possibly a sit stay - sorry might have to try somebody else for the gloves .
  13. I was reading the the desexing thread posted by SecretKei and thought I would post this one as a bit of a spin off. My question is how many people find that their desexed bitches go through periods of weaker nerves around the time they would have otherwise been in season. My girl was desexed around 13 months after having had 1 season at 8.5 months. She is on the timid side and if I consider some on of the periods when she has been at her worst these would have conincided with the same time she would have been in season if it wasn't for the fact she was desexed. I know from talking with people I am not the only one that has this problem and wondered if any others on here have and how they have dealt with it. Does the level of response change over time i.e. do they worsen or improve as they get older or is it always the same. If you wanted to trial such a dog would you take account of this potential as you would if the dog was still entire and factor that in to training/trialling or what you might do at a particular time?
  14. Urggghhh - first UD trial for the year in just over 3 weeks and most of it is looking pretty pearshaped . Not sure we have a hope in hell of it all coming together before then. Wanted - one trained UD dog in exchange for a very broken one .
  15. Thats the theory . I managed to break my open COP tonight by thinking I had her sitting up problem resolved so thought I would go ahead and reintroduce a stand ala UDX change of positions. Er nope then I was getting drop to stand rather than drop to sit - bloody athletic midget BCs . I wasn't even doing drop to stand only doing sit to stand .
  16. Did you read the post on this in the youtube thread Tiggy??
  17. Or maybe not - think that was one of the things they were trying to amend in the new rules to be discussed.
  18. I thought it was a round the back return in CCD Tassie - like you would in stays.
  19. Have you backchained the retrieve from the sit in front Zug Zug. I spent a session today while I was watching the winter Olympics open ceremony of sitting perched on the front chair with my legs in sort of a v-shape and placing the DB or article on the floor and asking Kenzie to pick up whatever I had on the ground and present it. She needs very little encouragement to come in close now but it can help them come in closer. I have done it previously without the article to get her in nice and close so I just extended it to having her pick up and present the article. Just back in from doing a set of articles with Ness and I better do some work with her as well because her presents are all out marginally further then I would like.
  20. http://www.avca.com.au/search_results.php?...&search=VIC There is a list of the ones in Victoria. I am sure people have also started thread in the past so you might be able to search for recommendations from there.
  21. Might be worth taking Shyla to a good chiro. I had one of mine who was intermittently lame and the chiro was able to treat her and resolve the muscle spasms and get to the bottom of her lameness. It was thought to be a partial cruiciate tear. If either of mine have an episode of lameness the first point of call is now the chiro and not the vet unless I can help it.
  22. Not sheltie specific advice but 2 dog advice the best suggested combination is usually 1 of each sex and that you leave sufficient time between dogs that the dog is trained to a level you are satisfied with before adding a second. The suggestion given is usually 18 months to 2 years ideally slightly longer. It means the older dog has enough training to be pretty reasonably behaved (if you have done everything right). Two dogs means only half as much time to devote to training so its easier if one has solid basics before introducing dog 2. Also a friend did mention she had 2 pretty close in age and the sad fact is that when they get to the other end of their life you can find yourself losing them both in a short period of time. Sometime else to consider when working out when to get a second dog.
  23. RubyStar - Ness was called off the a-frame cos she went before the judge had said are you ready .
