Can Somebody Explain Obedience Trialing To Me Please?
ness replied to Bonnie Pup's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Yep RubyStar - Qld ANKC is a world unto itself . -
Well RubyStar - the other alternative is find me a job in WA and I'll move in with midget and enough agility and obedience gear to keep us both busy .
-
Thats the 6m one - the one that is standard ANKC size.

Photo time

Tunnel is good but it needs another method of staking it to the ground for a fast dog.
-
The airlines would possibly hire a crate for the day but not sure what price they might charge.
-
LOL I watched that video amypie and went that must be amypie and kyzer . Do you know if that super fast 400 BC at the end of the clip Spryte?
-
LOL it will do what I want it to but won't get to give it a test run until later tonight.

I am presuming the spot is reserved pending payment cassie. I was going to do paypal but was worried about additional costs so opted for a bank transfer. -

Ness just doesn't do waiting around doing nothing for long and if I have one or other of them out and the other in a crate then whoever is in the crate is likely to scream the place down . Maybe I might train them to be quiet before the workshop . -

Thanks Steve - looking forward to it. -
Well I just checked the order status of my tunnel and the Australia post tracking system has it logged as on board with the driver so hopefully it should be arriving anytime soon .
-
Way to go CK - all achievements are worth bragging about in my book .
-
Somebody in Qld has received one and for what I want it should do fine - they are long and ok quality.
-
I just decided what with agility and obedience to keep me busy (and herding) no point in trying to fit in tracking as well although I think Ness would like it.
-
so take it Pele had fun then Bully. We skipped it and went to the beach instead .

Some lovely work RubyStar - just watching your videos now . Fantastic COP. One tip which might help with the ROH is to spend some time building value for taking the jump in the absence of asking for a retrieve. Like you would if you were training for agility. C/Ting the dog for offering to take the jump with you standing near it. Ness had been trialling/training in agiltiy for years by the time I thought about training her for Open so already thought jumping was a pretty rewarding activity. Even Kenz who has been trained with agility in mind the moment you place her in front of a jump knows that she is going to be asked to jump it and with drive over. Having value for jumping will also help with teaching the UD directed jumping exercise . If they think taking a jump is rewarding they are less likely to decide to run straight up the middle, or at least in my experience. ETA. I'd also be picking up your slow pace a bit. I think its a tad slow which is part of the reason Ruby lost attention.

Well done Dova and Pebbles - onto Open now .

Distance is stipulated in the Rules huski but from memory its possible that its worded such that its a minimum given - would have to check a rulebook and busy watching Crufts .

I presume it will go out with the workshop details Cassie. -
Loved the Pap but yeah the little dogs are super.

Hope your out sharing it with the world Nik. Jedi is one very special doggie. And to think when we were there in December he couldn't do anything without itching to be able to get through an entire obedience routine without so much as a scratch is a moment to treasure - never mind the pass that was a bonus. He will certainly do you well in the future he is a lovely little worker.
