amypie - well I was dosed up on pain killers before the last obedience trial and that did nothing for the nerves - even the valium I was taking at the time. Least you have a support team of equally nervous people. I tried to talk Tassie into coming to Adelaide for the trial but she decided staying in Melbourne for the BC club event was more exciting then being around to offer me support at midget's first agility trial .
-
Hmm do you want to know how many years its been since I walked a novice course amypie - try over 8 years and I don't remember Ness being as feral as Kenz was although I do remember Ness's first trial and her deciding that a magpie in the middle of the course was far to great a temptation to refuse . I do remember we were running under the old heights and I had her in both jumping and agility . In agility she refused the table - story of our life . She for her first pass at her second trial and very nearly another pass but with very shitty lighting she knocked the spread . Her JD title came pretty quickly though. ETA. And they were the days when I knew next to nothing about handling .

Hey I felt sick walking the novice jumping course last weekend and I wasn't even entered .
-
you will be fine amypie.
-
Oh but the walk was for Kenzie's benefit who was driving me insane!!!!!!! She came home from the trial Saturday and was feral. Ness's UD might be in the unobtainable basket (along with this remaining ADO pass!!!!)
-
Zug Zug. Yeah I probably could have gone but had no real game plan so wasn't worth it.
-
Vickie's course is supposedly nice not worried about that I have her in her JDO course too . Although my fear with hers is it will be like a race track and all the bars will not be standing when we have finished. Kenz has time, Ness just needs to finish this leg off ASAP so I can focus on the obedience. Least Kenz can cope with Vickie - hmm Brian not so sure.
-
Hmm judges next week are Brian and Vickie are doing the jumping can't remember who is doing the agility . Never mind the fact we have to get through UD on Saturday - eeek maybe I should have been at the mock trial this morning :p . ETA. I know I just didn't pay Keith enough for that scramble yesterday afternoon . Might have to up my bribes for next weekend :p .
-
Well if they don't Ptolomy - just tell the pilot to eject Scoota from the plane over SA on the return trip and I'll be ready and waiting for his arrival . Actually tell Deb - same deal goes for Brookie - I'd happily take either .
-
yes but after walking the course yesterday Xena98 all I could picture was how many bars the stewards would have to pick up again when we finished . Would have been easier if a certain somebody had finished off their bloody ADO yesterday too :p .
-
Well xena98 I didn't wake up until 9:30 . Ness wasn't to perky and I wasn't really in the mood after yesterdays oh so close to being able to retire her run, one bloody mm more on that bloody scramble is all she needed :p and I'd already done a Novice round under Julie with Kenz on Tue night so was no point in paying $5 to do that again . Had considered trying open with her but then decided I might be biting off more then I could chew and we had more important things today to go and practice ready for next Sunday . Yes somebody is getting a wee bit nervous already and is seriously wondering if I should have done more training :p .

Sounds like a good day Zug Zug. I slept in so didn't get there today . I did do some ROH practice with Kenz tonight and painted my solid jump. Well one side of it and then ran out of white paint so will have to paint the other side another day.
-
And probably the reason I need to practice with her more at 400 if I am intending on trialling her at 400. Her commitment point will vary depending on jump height. For what its worth my box work today was at 400 and I think I have less thinking time .

As best I can TSD . I wouldn't call myself a strict anybody system but I have watched all his dvds . Put it this way with Ness I don't walk a course with the GD system in my head I just go with what works in a situation . Yep when I stood still and rewarded her for clearing the second bar no issue but then next time when I tried to add the pivot back in the bar came down. I tried turning late but the ruddy bar still came off or she will then plow straight throw the third bar. I jump lead out I wouldn't beat her to the correct position and we would make an even greater mess of things .

;) caffy. Must have been the day for sleeping in. I slept in and missed the mock trial I was intending on going to. Ah well think both of mine much preferred the nice long walk up the bush track with a swim thrown in since the creek is now flowing again higher up much to their delight. Then we finished up the day with an afternoon agility session at the park (well Kenz had one, Ness supervised ). Jump grids and then some front cross practice. Argh not sure what is happening there I had 4 jumps set up in a box and then an extra jump in the front. My very crude diagram pictured below (ETA jump 1/2/3 are suppose to be in a straight line and then (a)/(b) the sides of a box but it refuses to cooperate and I am to lazy to import a gif picture ) : _ (3) (a)| |(b) _ (2) _ (1) I was working at leading out down all three middle bars - that was fine except for occasionally pulling the first bar. Then I would lead out 2 bars and turn to send her over either bar (a) or bar (b). Bar (b) she had no drama with except for once deciding to plough straight through bar (b) rather than jump. However with bar (a) she was rountinely dropping the second bar. Think it was something I am doing though. If I lead out past 2 and stayed put and just released her with no movement bar 2 stayed up. If I tried to turn then bar 2 would drop but she would clear bar (a). Wish I'd been able to video it. In the end I gave up trying to fix the problem and put it into the better sit down and analyse because whatever I was trying wasn't working. Crossing closer to A wasn't working, delaying my cross still bought bar 2 down.

I'll be there with my two feral black and white border collies - should be a good day and looking forward to it. Have known Ann for a number of years through her posts on some of her yahoo groups and was fortunate enough to go and visit Camp Tailwaggers (abet dogless) and attend one of there Saturday morning training sessions.

thanks Bully. Hope there weren't to many spiders in there. -
Ptolomy just let me find a job and I'll be over there and I'll handle miss Cider Bear in agility ok . Although don't hold your breath they keep sending me rejection letters.
-
Well I have a training brag - just took my new spiffy solid jump I made over the weekend out the front of my place for a test spin. Threw Kenz's DB over it - sent her over - hmmmm its narrower then normal so first time she ran back around it. We did a few others and she was 100% wherever the DB landed she would go out over the jump, race out pick up the DB and then gave me rock solid presents . Just for good measure she also managed an open COP - drop/sit/come . Hmmmm only means we don't have a DOR happening now or stays.

Waiting for Steve to get onto sending out an email (well his office people ). My suspicion would be it would be mostly DOL members attending or at least somebody who knows a DOL member but until we hear from from Steve (via email) I am not sure. I don't know what the numbers are either maybe 20-30. I had heard there were only 1 or 2 spots available. -
Kenz runs off to the nearest contact obstacle and puts herself on it in the hope of a treat . ETA. RubyStar - why not - HTM is just essentially obedience to music . Truthfully it is.
-
amypie I was running agility at training last night thinking maybe I should have entered NA too.
-
Ness's name for a long time just had CD JD . RubyStar you should do DWD with your girls then you could have less lonely looking names . There titles are nice and long and impressive looking . ETA. Just look at midgets 1 title is DWDF.S (so 5 letters ) then you have HTM.S (4 letters).

- got to start somewhere guys .
