  1. :D check out the Canon version in the link (was underneath the Nikon blog post) - least the lens is cleaner ;) http://www.petapixel.com/2010/03/31/sweet-...d-mark-ii-cake/
  2. I paid $105 or so for my Cool Champion 61cm coats directly from Silver Eagle.
  3. Xena - the judge said she knocked/tipped the BJ not that she refused the BJ which is why I was a bit confused. If she had said she had called a refusal on the BJ I'd have agreed totally but there was no refusal called. :D :D Ah well not about to lose sleep on it - pretty chuffed with that run, especially if you compare it to her sisters disaster performance which wasn't really a disaster only it was so much slower and less fun . Kenz has plenty of trials ahead of her to qualify. Very pleased considering she was happy, drivey, midget and didn't seem spooked with stewards, the judge, timekeepers, or people standing around on the edge of the ring. In fact I am not even sure she noticed they were there which is great news. RubyStar the only jumping class with weavers is Open Jumping.
  4. Not Ptolomy or Bedazzledx2 but I had a conversation with Sue H about working dogs in the heat and her view now was she use to get out there and proof them against working in really warm conditions but over the years decided it wasn't worth it. If its hot and the dog isn't happy then she doesn't worry. Some dogs cope better in the heat then others. I do think the cool coats help some if Ness's Saturday performance is anything to go by as she is certainly one for lagging and getting slow in the warmer weather.
  5. Ah Di's winpara ferals - Flyte, her youngster is Kenzie's handsome half brother .
  6. :D Ptolomy at the needing to wear gloves when holding dead things but yet you have no issue handling assorted raw meaty items and having them loose in your pocket .
  7. :D bedazzledx2 you and ptolomy seem to be developing a reputation .
  8. Ok here is the video link - I presume the quality will improve with time after being uploaded: http://www.youtube.com/user/ness#p/a/u/0/LkRE6iyYxHk
  9. Hmmm ok maybe I shouldn't have watched the JDO video I don't think she tipped the BJ at all :D . Ah well not going to lose any sleep over it its a lovely run and she did very well . It was possibly worth a refusal call because I had to send her around me but definitely didn't tip the jump.
  10. Ptolomy - its the story of my life with Ness - 1 bloody colour!!!!! Note to self Kenz will never be allowed to miss a colour ever without a consequence.
  11. Yep DSO Kenzie had her debut agility trial today and ran nicely but with no quallies. She is more dog then I am use to handling - her two JD runs weren't bad. A few dropped bars and some refusals due to me not handling her quite right. My brag for today though would have to be her absolutely stunning JDO run. I handled Ness around the course first and made a total mess of it. Kenz came out and other than a few desparation bits was flying. The only fault she made was she tipped the Broad Jump and I suspect it was handling related as that bit got seriously messy. Her weaving entrance however was stunning . In fact she had a few people comment to me after about just how nicely she handled it for a baby dog. It certainly wasn't the nicest of entries and she really did nail it. Extra special since the weaving poles aren't the normal ones we train with (we usually train with white base plates or white stick in the ground) and these were black and white striped stick in the ground ones. Not the nicest poles. Was well and truely under STC (~31 seconds on a 37 second course) and with me stuffing around with a few jumps. Heaps of potential. Any way will upload video later - so pleased with my little midget. Huge thanks to Rivsky who wasn't entered but answered my plea to come so I could have somebody available to video without having to worry about nabbing somebody at the last minute.
  12. Actually huski if its worth anything - my first dog Ness had her CD and JD before she was 2. Started trialling at 18 months in agility. Got 4 passes from 4 attempts in Novice under the old rules including placings. Kenz has only trialled in the DWD comp in Sydney and she was 2 nearly a fortnight ago. She has yet to enter the obedience ring and has her first agility trial tomorrow. So I guess in some respects Ness has been easier but I wouldn't trade Kenz for the world and when she gets it together there is no question she will surpass her sister.
  13. we have done it twice and agree Adelaide/Perth is a no brainer. I just need to find something to come back to and a money tree in order to fund it . If only the Nationals and been the end of the year I might have had a dog ready. ETA. Failing that I have been trying to find a way to lure Ptolomy back to Adelaide for a trial but not sure she likes our company over here cos so far all attempts have failed miserably .
  14. Hmm huski the kidnapping plan was suppose to be subtle remember . And Ptolomy your really not that bad to spend a week with (or two) . Although mmm maybe you didn't pick on me enough and that is why I had such a good time . ETA. RubyStar I should lend you Ness to run if I ever get my act together to get over to WA - she is sooooo easy and reliable .
  15. Well done DSO and Jess . Was a tough ask out there considering how warm it was for some of the dogs. When is it time for some agility trials .
  16. I think Kenz needs to join the remedial sit stay training so I think since Scoota is the oldest we shall blame him for having words to all these younger dogs who think dropping is a good idea .
  17. GOOOOOOOO Ptolomy - hey that stick is even effective all the way in Queensland. Suppose she is use to using it on me over long distances so its not that much extra .
  18. RubyStar - Kenz has been training agility since she was 8 weeks (well obviously only proper height jumping from 12 months) and I am still not sure what possessed me to enter her. Not convinced she is ready.
  19. no video TerraNik but she thought she would through in a few freestyle moves like DJ but coming between my legs instead of sitting in front and then going directly to heel. Ah well maybe I should have guessed when she spun and backed through my legs at training on Tuesday night (at least that was between exercises ). Hope I have some proper brags tomorrow - will see what happens . Will have to see if I can hold it together.
  20. I am going to brag not because we managed to pass but because both the judge and I were in fits of laughter. Had Ness in UD this morning. Anybody who knows Ness knows that she isn't really the most driven dog in the world and will often go through the motions especially when its midday and she is second last in the ring and its just plain HOT. My friends sheltie who is usually more up then Ness on a good day and doesn't mind the heat didn't even manage to get through much and was clearly suffering. In I go with Ness expecting to be out of there. Well blow me away not only was she "up" and "drivey" but hmmm a bit too OTT. Subs galore for too much enthusiasm and anticipation . You would never guess she is 10 later on in the year she was loving every moment of being in there. Ah well always the next trial .
  21. Way to go amypie - good luck today .
