Yep have watched the running contact dvd but not gone anywhere further than watching it. Ended up deciding I would attempt a 2o2o instead .
-
been a while since I watched them - ok I have 4 on the floor modified running contacts; reliable running a-frames; running contacts; and training running contacts with stride regulators .
-
Yep I sure do RubyStar . ETA. What do you want there are a few out LOL.
-
Robyn finds homes for the extra feral ones - I think she just keeps the sane ones . Pretty sensible of her really . ETA. The feral in action http://www.youtube.com/user/ness#p/u/6/07bfmnNPYI8

mirawee - Kenz is Spryte's half sister (same mum) do I need to say anymore . So yep typical fast Winpara 400 dog who at the last trial thought handler was optional. Have lost count of the number of novice jumping passes that we haven't got due to a bar or two dropping especially on curves and out of tunnels and after broad jumps.
-
I dunno it doesn't make much difference to Kenz she still pulls bars when I run her at her correct 400 jump height. Bloody lazy borders . I swear if the jumps were at 300 she would still find a way to pull bars.
-
I have trained Kenz at 500 for convenience and still do one night a week (for my convenience I kind of don't appreciate a class starting at 9pm so opt to run her in the earlier 500 class). But then I mostly just do the agility course and we just focus on contacts. She is also borderline 500 anyway .

:D I love Ptolomy's black hand bag. I got to try it on for size when I was there. She is a dear thing is miss Lara :D .
-
Wahoo finally I win at something :D . Nah I won tonight already - first up I had a UD round full of attitude - good girl Ness. Then Kenz gave me a novice round again full of attitude - clever girl Kenz. Had an absolute blast with both of them and a night I want to bottle.

See promise of cake brings everybody out of the woodwork. Hmmm pity I suppose I could start walking now and be there by Thursday hmmm 2020 - will you have cake for me.
-
Awwwww Ptolomy needs her whip icon hang on .
-
Not to self make sure brings own supply of cake and wears very baggy pants to stash toller .
-
I know you are RubyStar - I am madly putting out feelers for a job . I'd do anything for cake on a Monday night .
-
I came from Adelaide twice - think I have travelled the furtherest to get to K9 . - man I should find somewhere a little closer to live so the commute isn't quite as far.
-
Hey RubyStar - get a look at the Silvia Trkman video if you can (I know Bedazzledx2 and Ptolomy both have a copy - or will shortly ). Its not overly technical but I discovered some steps I was missing with the whole rear end awareness trick and am now going back to it with my two (well ok at least one Kenz is being worked through it from scratch ). ETA. No Ptolomy on holiday is great - lots of time to be her constructively critical self - is much appreciated I have a million things to work on tonight.
-
Yep sure do Mason2009 - have had a little patch of that recently I think . Agree with what Ptolomy has said though. Helps if you can plan to catch up with somebody a little more knowledgeable then yourself for a training session. I have to make do with hassling my somebody more knowledgeable online - but think its working a little I am feeling a little more motivated ;) . To the extent of even making plans this weekend to go and help somebody else who is having a few issues . Its been a while since I have felt motivated enough to go out and train on a weekend.

Not sure I have 2 but thats more for me then about them. They don't play but then one is 10 and one is just over 2.

http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/mature/border-collie.asp There is a list of the mature dogs available from various breeders on DOL. Not sure if thats any use to you or not.
-
Ok had a rethink reckon you should get the green checkered one for Soggy .
-
Hmmm don't like sky blue - does that help you narrow down your choices .
-
I use it for training treats but both mine like it as well .
-
Well done Sue and Cindy and also to Kavik .
-
Well done Brookie and bedazzledx2 . He is such a good boy.

Agree with both Vickie and K9Pro with the tugging is a science - who could have thought a relatively simple concept of playing a game with your dog could have quite that many variables. As Agility Dog said there needs to be interaction and the dog needs to be putting in most of the effort the minute you start pushing the game onto the dog its highly likely to disengage the dog (well at least in my limited experience ).

Enjoying reading the progress and watching the videos .
