The Star Mark foam balls fit into a chuckit and seem pretty durable. Probably cheaper places then this to get them but this is what I am talking about - http://waggle.com.au/starmark-b11/fantastic-foam-ball-p94

There you go RubyStar - here is the link to the page containing the free sample issues http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...category_ID=135 -
Hmm doesn't have to be a cone - what about a jump upright, a chair, a small plastic bin, a pot plant. Our usual one is the football goal post at the school oval or even a tree trunk .

There are a few sample issues listed where you can test out how it works - if you haven't already found them. -
holiday mode I think LOL. Will have a little look later RallyValley. Hows the sending around the cones game coming along?
-
Yeah a friend gave me one which she got by mistake and couldn't use and I think I quite like the design. Only problem is I think its a fraction big for my girl and probably need the next size down for her. Fits my other one ok but she doesn't really need a harness.

Fantastic work Ptolomy and Scoota and thanks RallyValley for uploading it . Was lovely to watch - Scoota is a star and you could tell he knew he had done well .

Wahoo well done again Scoota and Ptolomy - hope there were lots of jackpots for his performance . Sounds like Lara had a ball in rally - well done RallyValley and Lara . Hope the video gets posted Ptolomy - I'd love to see it.

Not sure if its the same in WA but the last two SA trials seem to have had a huge influx of Novice entries. Often novice is the last class left standing. Just by way of example the last trial for the year here had 36 Novice dogs entered. Another trial had 29 Novice dogs but that was split into 2 rings. Another trial had 30 Novice Dogs - 1 ring. They are just three trials I can find the catalogues for on the laptop in my quick hunt for numbers.

Just in addition to what xena said some of the clubs still do informally have an Open A and Open B from what I have noticed even if its not listed. I notice some of the time there is all the "Open B" dogs in the one ring and titled dogs just used to make up the balance in terms of numbers. But then also most of the clubs here in SA have that option because there are always 2 open rings. Judging by the number of dogs competing in Novice they just about need to go back to putting on 2 Novice rings as well - feel sorry for some of the judges having to be there for ages because there is only 1 ring and more dogs then some of the other classes.

Happy Birthday Lars .

Whats The Best Gossip You Heard About Yourself Or Your Dogs?
ness replied to MonElite's topic in General Dog Discussion
:D oh but you are totally huski - you should not tease that poor Beagle by making her work for Krispy Kreme Donuts. I heard you even made her work for a lesser brand donut - thats just plain horrible and cruel. -
I also had this link come through in an email today - its an Australian site and they appear to make sheepskin toys with a handle. http://www.ykdogproducts.com.au/yktoys.html

Yep I have had things with "fur" in them - dog toys ordered from the US and had them opened by customs but nothing has ever been removed.

Yep Tiggy the French linen ones are fairly soft and seem to soften up a lot as well with use. I have tossed mine through the wash a few times so that probably softened it up as well . Our first french linen one is looking a little worse for wear after tonights training session though - think Kenz has been watching one to many schutzhund dvds as I called her over to me and presented the tug and she launched herself at it . Had me a little worried for a sec but all that seems worse for wear is the tug. She has had this one for ages and ages though and we have done a fair number of training sessions with it. Its the favorite one because I can throw it in the wash when it gets slimy and it comes out good as new.

Plenty of good quality tugs can be bought from K9Pro's website: http://www.k9pro.com.au/categories.php?category=Tugs My youngster loves the french linen ones but also loves the rolled leather ones. There is also an article there about selecting a tug. They are a little more expensive then some tugs around but they seem to last a reasonable length of time for the amount of training we do. If you look at the home page there appears to be currently a special on them at the moment as well - 15% off. http://www.k9pro.com.au/

SA are just backward when it comes to new sports - one of the few states who hasn't jumped on board with the DWD yet either much to my frustration. My guess is SA just won't take it up like they have failed to take up DWD in reality. It is a bit of a shame that the club that I am pretty sure were going to organise the Rally-O workshop fell through.

Does she do the same at training = have you tried setting her up, taking her into a ring and NRM and putting her away if she looks away as you step off??
-
I might also throw this one in JulesP - Poppy might be watching you but is she actually engaged with you when your at the start peg. Is it possible that she is watching you but switching off a little by sitting there so when you do go to take off she is caught off guard rather than ready to go. In relation to your fronts - have you tried through food between your legs and having Poppy run through your legs after a bit of food. That tends to bring them in a little closer and if you keep them guessing then you might find she comes in closer at a trial.

These ones look pretty nifty: http://www.gameondogs.com.au/dog-gear/comf...rt-harness.html
