extreme Soakie gave energizer battery Kenz bear a good workout when we stayed there. Although Mitch the other lappie also gave them both a run for their money. All three of them were on the go almost constantly all day.

huski so where is this video of a ring round after a few glasses of wine - I want to see if you can walk in a straight line . Notice I didn't say still I think I struggle to walk in a straight line normally heaven help it if I had anything to drink before.

I really have to stop recommending him - he will get to busy and then I won't be able to get an appointment when I break my dogs .

There was a lovely TT trialling in obedience over here. I remember it competing at the Royal one year. Pretty sure they also did agility as well. Nice little dog.
-
Piper sure you could find room for one. Hmm wonders were I can find room for one .

I think the toller people would murder you for comparing them to a border . Actually as a border person and somebody who spent a few weeks living with a clan of tollers I would tell you they aren't really a like at all.

I remember losing a mobile phone charger when Kenz was hmmm 13 or 14 months . Teach me to go back to sleep. Gawd bedazzledx2 - obedience, agility and 3 sheep trialling when do you intend on finding the time. Oh wait do you not intend on sleeping LOL. I struggle to find enough time to do justice to both obedience and agility. Kenz would love to do some more herding but even with my schedule I can't seem to find enough hours in the week.

Here they went through a stage of just adding whatever title you just earned immediately after the name. Ended up with some very complicated orders with no real common sense. Not sure what happens now when I applied for Kenz's JD it was added after her DWDF.S so will be interesting to see what happens when she eventually gets an AD as to where that ends up.

Atopica Or Cortoisone For Obedience
ness replied to LabRat32's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Would an over the counter antihistamine help? Plenty of human ones that you can use on dogs. I have used one on my older girl for seasonal itchiness and mostly I only use one when I know we are going to trial so in a similar situation to you. -
Congrats bedazzledx2 - he is one very cute little pup and sounds like he will be an absolute blast to train.
-
Nawww look at her Ptolomy - very cute party trick ;) .

;) - yes can't have Daisy getting to comfy I saw the photo you posted . If you have anything you can use as a ramp, even a short plank floating round and prop it up on a brick or something inside you then have yourself a makeshift contact trainer . I have even been known to prop my plank up on the lounge .

Hmmm what about teaching a nose touch and working on some 2o2o in the house huski ;) .
-
great that you had a fantastic night RubyStar and yep definitely sounds like you shoulda stayed home Ptolomy although nice to see Beans came through eh .

OSS - there is no returning around after the recall anymore (as of 1st of January 2011) - the recall exercise in CCD now finishes when the dog is sitting in front and after the judge says exercise finished .
-
RubyStar that is what Ness use to do with the box when I taught her. She kept trying to retrieve it to me since we spent so long shaping a retrieve on her.

Here we go another herding one: http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/8239967/

I have no idea what hand I use for gloves - think I use left hand for all three :D .

Hi Cosmo - I am not sure what trialling has to do with it - but my kids always get rewarded they just never know when. Agree with Ptolomy - Kenz and Ness are always rewarded when we train they just never know when they might be rewarded. While they are learning they are obviously rewarded more frequently and I don't start stringing exercises together until they can do each of them separately.

Well there you go apparently I consistency use my right hand when I send Kenz which is the total opposite to what I do when I send Ness to the box and yes I do use a signal for her and its given with my left hand. I also seem to stand Kenz with a right handed stand signal when setting her up despite the fact my normal stand signal during heelwork would be given with the left hand :D . ETA. So Ptolomy what do you do - save me going off to look at your clips on youtube to find out. Never mind was impatient so went off to look anyway.

Kenz has the foundations thats not the problem - its just frustrating comparing her enthusiasm for UD compared with Ness who is pretty much now retired. Kenz has only been doing things like seekback and sendaways this week and is doing them reliably better then Ness. Funny since all she has is one CCD leg to her name :D . Ah well 2012 it will have to be I have a date with the UD ring and the mad midget all things going to plan this year . Got to get through Novice and Open though. Just have to put my head down and actually train things like a DOR for Open LOL and enter a few trials and hope she works her black and white socks off as she did in her first obedience trial. ETA. This morning's training session - excuse the heelwork it was majorly messy (yes Ptolomy I know I know) and we are going to have to have words about it starting tomorrow. Still not bad considering before Monday she had done maybe 3 days of seekbacks (so 12 seekbacks total) months ago and not that many more days doing sendaways. So this is just basically where we have got in 6 days. The DOR and COP video at the end is just to see where things are at. DOR is a work in progress and her COP is coming along alright so long as the reward is behind her.

OMG Tiggy you did what . Must have guilted you into it. So where is the video to prove it eh. I did some perch work on a skateboard this afternoon just for something a little different to the normal phone book. Yep Tiggy that is how I started with Kenz in front of me then progressed to having her come all the way around into heel and side :D . Yep Tiggy when you have your hand out the dog is suppose to be wide and targeting the hand. When you bring the hand in to the normal heel position thats when the dog is suppose to be in close.

Its such a pity you have to get through Novice and Open before you can play in UD - sigh. Should stop playing with the fun exercises and get back to some of the more mundane ones otherwise we will never get there :D . Em looks so full of energy and enthusiasm TSD - you look like your in for a lot of fun.
