  1. I have an aeolus and love it. I use it with 2 BCs and pretty regularly. First one lasted 7 or so years. Just picked one up new from Crazy sales for less then $200 since it died recently. I think you would be fine with one of those and they currently have them for just over $200. Definitely value for money.
  2. I agree my puppy pen is a godsend. She spends her day in it while I am at work and I know she is safe and not up to mischief. She does get a little more free range at times now when I am home but she still gets put in her pen when she needs a break. At night she is in a crate in my room out of harms way.
  3. Might also be worth approaching DogsSA if you haven't already or go out to the grounds on a weekend and have a chat to some breeders. You might get a better response that way. Maybe even see about something in the DogsSA canine journal which goes out monthly to members.
  4. So sorry huski - you and your mum have definitely had a tough time lately. Run Free Micha.
  5. We train up at Murray Bridge. Herding South Australia on Facebook.
  6. Do both biker girl. Nothing to say you can't have two routines .
  7. My 14 year old girl BC before passing was still having 2 walks a day and reasonable length walks and out walking my young girl . In fact 2 days before she died was about the only time she slowed down.
  8. How exciting - I just got my new little BC girl a fortnight ago and she is predominately being fed raw since that is what the breeder fed them. I do give her some dry and at the moment she is having holistic select puppy. I have just mostly been using that in her day time treat toy which I leave in her pen while I am at work. Some days she doesn't touch it whereas other days its been finished before I have left the house.

    Crate Training

My youngest girl who is 10 weeks Sunday came crate trained to. Her breeder had them sleeping in crates overnight from 7 weeks. I think they were started before that though.
  10. Thanks everybody - been a month yesterday since she was gone and the house is definitely feeling more empty without her. That should change come Friday though as my new baby girl flies in. Ness will never be forgotten but hopefully my new little girl will help me move forward. I am sure Ness will be looking down and keeping an eye over the situation and no doubt sending messages on how to push my buttons when it comes to training .
  11. Ness got a new home tonight. She now has her plaque finished and is where she belongs.
  12. I don't mind the silver eagle coats but hate the fit of them with both of my BCs so hardly use them.
  13. Ah ok thanks - I might try tracked focus and see if that improves things .
  14. Its been a fortnight since you passed away. This time two weeks ago you were just about to take your final breath . Life hasn't been the same without you. Your little sister, for as much as she seemed to not care about you will occasionally stop in the middle of playing and start looking around as though she is trying to find you. I hope rainbow bridge is being kind to you and you have located a never ending supply of roast chicken and dixie cups and are back to chasing jet skis like you always use to when you were younger. Hugs to my gorgeous girl. PS. Please stop crate mailing your friends and telling them to be naughty - not sure Aunty Karron wants the boys to roll in any more disgusting things . You can however keep telling your sister to manage the stairs. Its lonely with no dog up there to keep me company. She surprised me last night when I found her on the couch when I emerged from the shower.
  15. Thought I was doing ok but actually thinks its worse then it was. Lucky its the beginning of a work week. Being home seems to cause more problems as Ness was normally sleeping next to the computer desk or under the bed or something. Kenz can't get up the stairs unless I carry her so its a little lonely up there. She sits down the bottom of the stairs and whinges at me but I bring her up and she normally ends up back downstairs shortly after . I am going up to my parents place for the long weekend and mum has asked that I bring Ness as well. I am sure that will result in more tears but she was the family dog.
  16. huga. Still worried I have the darn thing shut up properly so its waterproof. What focus setting do you guys use. I got a stack of photos and the focus wasn't great at all .
  17. I would have been annoyed to. I had a similar incident with a specialist centre. Was assured the dog was x-rayed 12 months later I pushed the point as we still had no answers and was told yes she had been x-rayed before surgery and everything was fine. A few months down the track when her case got handed to another specialist as the first one was leaving they went through and couldn't locate the x-rays . In the end they agreed to pick up the x-rays at their cost if she needed to be sedated for any other reason but there was no good reason to sedate her in their view so it never happened. Clinic eventually closed down towards the end of last year. The dog finally ended up having full x-rays last week through a normal vet last week but luckily for me at no charge since its part of a study. My issue now is the x-rays actually showed something and whether the specialists should have taken them when I was told they did and whether we might have saved 3 years of unnecessary specialist consults is up for discussion.
  18. This is what I think I am going with. The text will go on the side of the box. This is the box she is in currently (although she will be moved when they deliver a replacement one since this one has a crack in it). Will get the same box though as I am super happy with how it looks and the photo I picked.
  19. Not an easy decision thats for sure and I hate making decisions at the best of times.
  20. Ness is home but in temporary accommodation. Her special box has a crack so they will bring me a replacement when they drop off her engraved plaque. Having trouble working out the text for it though .
  21. Picked up an Olympus TG3 a week and a bit ago but haven't been game to use it underwater yet .
  22. Ness comes home tonight . Going to be a very long day at the office.
  23. Ness is going to spend time in front of the dog door and then she will be moved to a window so she can bark at the postie if she wants to .
  24. Three for sleeps and Ness will be back home for good - seems to final .
