  1. I get my girl's losec( for reflux) from the pharmacy on a script written by the vet. it is a human drug and costs me $12.00 for a month's supply Originally the vet gave me 7 tablets for $17.00
  2. My girl does this when her anal glands need emptying. She doesn't scoot but becomes very restless
  3. All Natural Vet at Russell Lea, near Gladesville.
  4. Thanks HonBun. She had them in her VERY long ears, sticking to her chin and caught up under her top gum I thought at the age of 8 1/2 she wouldn't bother with this nonsense. I forgot she was a Cavalier who lurves her food :) I will stay home to watch her today. It's the last day of my holidays and I was going out to lunch but don't think I'd be able to enjoy it
  5. My Cavalier has just eaten approx. 40 gms of sunflower and sesame seeds. Just wondering if anybody has had an experince like this with their dog. ****I have rung the vet and they said she should be fine but may end up with diarroea. If she becomes lethargic, I'm to take her up***
  6. All fruit and veges except orange and tomato...it must be too acidic. She eats way more veges than I do :D
  7. My girl would welcome them in and then help them select what they wanted to take. She'd probably open the door for them on the way out She has barked 5 times in her nearly 9 years and that was at a full moon :D she's spechial!
  8. My girl is getting over biceps tendonitis and has been having traumeel which is a homeopathic anti inflamatory. It's worked really well for her and now she is on Zeel for maintenance

I live on the North Shore and also take my girl to Hornsby vet for acupuncture, PM me as I have a dog with HD and have been through all the options of "alternative" therapy

  13. I swear by the Cranberry tablets. My girl was getting UTI"s every 3 months and had struvite crystals as well as a very high Ph level. Had her tested 2 weeks after starting the tablets and back to normal She hasn't had a problem in nearly 2 years
  14. My girl went through this at the same age. She was becoming a "teenager" and was testing the boundaries
  15. http://www.travmed.com/health_guide/ch10.htm Beware of scare-mongering on the TV. Why would you say this is scare mongering? I know the teenager and his mother and it is real enough. It has been the most devastating 18 months of this family's life
  16. *gasps and faints* (about time) I know ,I know. We should have done it when you were grooming her ;)
  17. My Cavalier used to get something similar and she had endsocopies etc and it was found that she had some sort of allergic "thing" going on in her nose and throat, she had her tonsila out and is now on an inhaler....seems to be doing better
  18. Seeing that our groomer moved,we have to do our own cutting now I was just thinking about you and Lani yesterday! Was wondering how you got on with a new groomer and your 'Lani Styling'. Not too bad.....but not the same as you! We went quite short but not shaved. It's much easier to check for ticks now. And she seems to like it Kept her ears and tail but feathers trimmed and thinned. hope all si well with you
  19. Good tip! Seeing that our groomer moved,we have to do our own cutting now
  20. I had the same problem with my girl. It turned out that she was sensitive to the chicken that was supposed to be helping her I put her on white fish and potato. This stopped the dairrhea and she has never had chicken since and has had no problem
  21. Definitely go to a good chiro or canine physio. My Cavalier was limping on her front left leg and I spent thousands of dollars trying to get a diagnosis. The physio discovered she had HD and was getting trigger points from walking incorrectly
