  1. DDD, Thomas Dux don't have any of the raw honey
  2. I fed my girl raw and a little kibble all her life and she was fine. If your other dogs are healthy and happy with good poos etc I can't see why you can't feed the puppy the same diet
  3. Oh that would be great,CavsRcute. I did start googling earlier, but got sidetracked. Will let u know DDD. I did see some "raw" honey at Thomas Dux Hornsby. Might be worth investigating too
  4. Thanks for the info. Maybe this would be of some use to my mother who suffers from IBD. You can always learn something new on DOL :)
  5. A lady at work has her own hives and lives at Kenthurst. I will ask on Monday if she sells it. I know she brought some in and if had the honeycomb in it but don 't know whether that makes it raw
  6. As I fed my girl exclusively on chicken and kibble based on chicken, it was easy to work out that she had the sensitivity to it. Once it was removed from her diet all was well
  7. I found that turkey was just as bad as chicken for the tummy problems. Any poultry was a no no
  8. I wonder if Protexin would be better for Danny than Carafate? Another question for my vet LOL. What's the function of Carafate?
  9. My Cavalier was exactly the same. As son as I took her off any form of chicken, it improved. Took about 2 weeks to firm up . I also gave her Protexin, to help with the lining of her tummy and bowel
  10. My girl used to do that when she had a spasm in her back leg , hip or back. She would jump up , yelp and sort of look around as though she didn't know why she was awake! It always happened when she was asleep Trigger point therapy fixed it
  11. I had a girl who had HD. As well as having acupuncture and supplements, she also had trigger point therapy. She used to get very painful trigger points as she used to have a compromised gait due to the bad hips. Supplements and anti inflammatories did not help as it was a soft tissue problem. The only thing that kept her mobile was seeing Mark Hocking at Gladesville vet for the trigger point therapy. He palpates all muscles and the uses a TENS like machine to dissolve the knots. May be worth thinking about
  12. I think you're referring to NEVS - it is an existing after hours / emergency hospital that has just moved to a new location. They don't have specialists or do GP services. At least it's closer than SASH in the case of emergency. The local paper said that it was a co-op of 30 vets in the area. If it's replacing the one at Forestville, that's a good thing. NEVS is the cooperative hospital but it has moved to Terry Hills from its location within Forest Animal Hospital (which now operates as Forest 24/7). However NEVS did temporarily exist in Forestville Animal Hospital for the last few months, just to confuse the issue. My goodness, that is confusing :D I used to take my dog to Forestville. I only lived 3 doors down from them. Loved Roy Matthews there. A very gentle , caring vet.

  14. Has he been to the vet? Maybe an antihistamine or cortisone injection will help. It will have to be more than one injection. It's in the blood and designed to last for a month. The allergic reaction will continue until the body can break it down. They have given him some antihistamines. They're trying to keep him cool and quiet and putting on cream. They nearly lost their Maltese to a tick, just before Christmas, so they thought they would try the Nexgard, as they are now paranoid about the little blighters!
  15. She is always on on Saturdays and I would NEVER have her for a consultation. She is the one who, if she cracked a smile, the world would probably end. That sounds awful, but how you can not greet someone with a smile (all the others do) is beyond my comprehension. She also told me I was crazy to have "a rescue dog" given an operation to restore his sight . She said she wouldn't even do that for her own dog. How a vet could even think that let alone say it is gobsmacking. Yes, she is a witch! I'm surprised she even has an animal!
  16. DDD, just thought I would mention that there is a new 24hour emergency vet that has opened at Terry Hills. It's just past the intersection of Forest Way and Mona Vale Rd. Not sure whether they specialists as such, but it's good to know that there is an alternative to SASH, especially after hours.
  17. My friend's Bichon has been scratching madly, since he was given this product on Thursday. He is at the red raw stage. Didn't have any problems before
  18. VERY diasppointed to hear of your experience this morning. It's a shame the regular vets weren't there. I think I know who you saw and I wouldn't let her touch any animal that have. Go and have something nice to eat, keep up your fluids and give Danny a big hug
  19. My girl used to do this. I also used to feed her between 6 and 7 at night. I used to give her a biscuit at bed time( not kibble) and this seemed to solve the problem. I also used to give her some probiotic yoghurt
  20. My girl had a sensitivity to chicken. Had to put her on white fish and potato to settle her down and then beef and lamb only
  21. Almost 100% that it is a hot spot. Needs to be dried out. Found that Curash or Betadine is best
