"If you have a pup who goes into drive when mouthing, be aware that they get chemical rewards in their brain at that point so simply ignoring them or redirecting them will often not work. I see this most often in the gundog and herding breeds. " So help me out here- i have a gundog and she will be in the showring- i dont want her to be aggressive in the future.............

i am just swapping my arm/body part for a toy at this stage, and saying buh or uh uh

She is doing a bit better- but she still doesnt sleep very long. I have found the crate cover to be a good idea as she seems to settle better in the dark.

My young kelpie x ate 2 sheets of my anti inflammatories a few weeks ago- we gave her salt water to make her vomit and most of them came up. The vet said plenty of fluids to flush her out- hope your dog is ok

I have done the yelping and uh uh bit and given her something else to chew- she just goes for my hand or face again. Yep Im hoping the Irish do tell her off too but, they only growl out her and she doesnt listen.

I have a 9 week old irish red and white setter pup. Since her being here( i live with 7 adult irish setters, their breeder and my 3 x bred dogs, she has bitten my housemates face and attaches herself to the bottoms of my pj pants and wont let go- i have tried yelping, "bah", and tapping her nose- even time out in her crate( possibly mixed signals for her)? I dont want her to bite the wrong dog- they are all show dogs

My new pup was vaccinated at 6 weeks then i have been told needs another 2 shots? However when i get her 2nd shot done ive been told to make it a c5 then she wont need another- is this correct? I'd stick to C3 and give one more shot at 12 weeks. You only need KC shot if you're going into kennels. So as she will be a show dog a C3 is sufficient? From what i just read om some other threads it would be better to get a C5 or C6- as Kennel Cough like most things is going around. And I've seen many show dogs get it anyway... Better to build a strong immune system so that if they do catch it, they get over it quickly. I show mine and he's not vacc with KC and never will. Thanks Tess

I bought my new one a Snuggle Puppie - is a soft fluffy toy, has a heartbeat, heat pads and a renewable heat pack (rice you heat in the micro). If you google snuggle puppie you'll find it. He turns up tomorrow so don't know if he likes it or not yet I bought it direct from the company online, fairly slow delivery (but I am in the middle of nowhere so that is probably why it too a little while). Ahhhh thanks for that- I couldnt quite remember the name!!- Brilliant will check them out.
