Slicker And Pins - Advocates Of Each
Weimlover replied to malsam's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I actually use both ;) I use the Chris Christensen pin brush for in between coat changes. But when she is dropping coat I use the slicker, I love the Lawrence Tender Care slicker. It's really soft unlike some slickers, and she love's it. I find the slicker gets the undercoat out a lot quicker than a pin brush IMO -
Has Anyone Done The Tafe Dog Grooming Course In Adelaide?
Weimlover replied to Sally's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I haven't done it but I am interested in doing it myself -
The same thing happened to my old girl, they kept saying it was a fatty cyst until they finally did a biopsy and gave her a month to live (She made it to two years) . If possible I would get a biopsy done just to make sure. It's not worth taking a risk.

Tango...great News.....
Weimlover replied to TangerineDream's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'm so sorry to hear about Tango Hugs to both of you :D It's so scary, I have been through it with Bailey. Although they haven't put him on meds. Hang in there, I'm sure with the med's Tango will improve. The links Puggles gave you were very helpful for me ;) -
Congratulations

Yet another Aloveen fan here too Oh, and Squirt Shine spray for between baths :D -
Good Choice Eagle Pack is great food IMO When she gets a bit older try giving her a Turkey neck (or just buy small ones now), my dogs love them
-
What CavNrott & gareth said Personaly though I would chuck the chilli plant out though IMO It's not worth your dog getting sick over
-
I use the Eagle Pack Holistic range for Bailey (2.5 years) and Keesha (2 years) I highly recommended it. I've used the Chicken then the Duck and now are using the Fish. I have got them on the fish now because Keesha had sore ears on the other two but the fish seems to be okay (*touch wood) Their coats are lovely and shiny and Keesha's coat has improved even more since being on the Fish
-
I changed Keesha over to the EP Fish about 6 weeks ago (was on the duck) & her coat is looking amazing now & no more sore ears Bailey Hasn't done as well on the fish so I am going to swich him back to the duck once he is feeling better Sheridan I use the Aloveen which has been great for my dogs, maybe that might be more gentle on your dogs skin ;) It's very good stuff for allergies :D

Aloveen fan here too I agree that it is cheaper to buy online I use the Squirt Shine spray for in between washes if they start to stink -
I think it would be safer I'm Soooooo parinoid now Thanks for asking Jodie. The surgery didn't go ahead because the vet decided to go on 'stress leave'. I had no idea he wasn't making an appearance until Faith and I arrived early that morning, as arranged. I was informed there was a locum on duty who would do the surgery. Not bloody likely!!! The surgery is complicated and all they seemed to know about it was I was so angry I could hardly speak. The vet rang me the following day with an apology and he is now doing the surgery tomorrow. I must say I am more than a little worried and have lost confidence in this vet practice. There seems to be a constant and rapid turn around of staff and no one seems to know what's going on or what they are supposed to be doing. Faith (who is a keeper, not a foster) has had a number of assessments done by this vet who felt that she was not in a healthy enough condition for the surgery before now. He is a good surgeon who knows Faith well and she is comfortable with him. Otherwise I would not be going ahead with her surgery at this practice. In addition they have the results of all her tests. Not happy Jan :D . I was stressed out enough about it in the first place and now my stress factor is off the scale. Please send healing vibes to Faith tomorrow morning. Sorry to hijack your thread Weimlover . I really hope everything goes well for Faith today, fingers (& toes) crossed for her & hugs to you both Please let us know how it goes. ;) Oh and don't feel bad about hijacking my thread, I don't mind one bit

Just wanted to update you all :D I brought Bailey home yesterday afternoon because he was too stressed at the vet so she thought it would be better for him at home. He was left over night at the vets Sunday night and hurt his paw trying to get out of the cage he never does well at the vets. He is still very sick at the moment but is keeping his food and fluids ATM, thank god Will keep you updated I think it must have The poor little thing, I'm glad he made it. Bailey was so lucky that his corrected it's self
-
Thanks again everyone for their wonderful wishes It has really helped me to relax a bit. They must have worked because I got good news Bailey intestine had gone over on its self but when they opened him up it corrected it's self while they were exploring. He does has a very bad case of gastro so is going to stay in the hospital for a few days on a drip & pain killers. It is much better than I thought, I'm so relieved ;) OMG 2 times in 15 Days the poor thing, once would be plenty I would have been a stressy mess twice I'm so glad she is doing well, especially with major surgery. Dogs really are amazing animals at how quickly they heal & get over things. poor little mite, 10 days if an awful long time :D you must have been missing him being gone for that long. I've never heard of the rota virus ( I will have to google it) Thank god he is feeling better

I'm glad the pup is okay -
Hi guys Just freaking out totaly at the moment I had to take Bailey to the vet yesterday with major vomiting and abdominal pain. They took xrays thinking it was a bowel obstruction and found apricot seeds in his intestines (bye bye apricot tree ). The vet decided to give him a enima which she thought would clear him out. They looked at him after & everthing looked okay so I took him home. During the night I woke up to Bailey vomiting fecal matter & in pain Which totally freaked me out So waited for the hour until the vet opened this morning and took him back. She thought he might have a blockage or the bowel might have folded on to it's self (sorry but don't know the medical name for it). The xray showed that the Intestine was full of gas and looked like there was a problem so they decided to operate I find out in a couple of hours how he went

I'm so sorry ;) I wish the news could have been better

Dog Having Seizures Or Maybe Hypoglycemia
Weimlover replied to Isabel964's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I haven't heard of seizures like that either :p Bailey has been having seizures (petit mal) for the last couple of months similar to what puggles described in the last post, the vet seems to think that it is epilepsy. IMHO I would take him to the vet so that they can do some test's e.t.c to try and find out what's going on
