If you're going to get a new puppy, then I think you're going to have a difficult time getting to and from work to feed him during lunch break. That would be fine if you live close by, but if not, well, that's a different question.

Does it seem to apparently bother your dog? Is there any tenderness? You really should get him checked out by a vet though.

If you don't seem so sure about what you're supposed to do, you could just go visit a vet and have him take care of the swollen foot. Remember that you can do some home remedies but if you aren't so sure, then you might as well seek the help of a professional as opposed to doing something that could just harm your dog more.

Awww, poor dog. Maybe you could use some of those techniques that families of blind people use like don't move around furniture, give them food and point them to the right direction. Loss of sight may be a challenge at this point but give your dog a few months and he'll get used to it. :)

Try giving him raw food. Maybe some raw fresh vegetables maybe? :D

You said you've taken her to the vet, what did he say? He knows your dog more than we do, so unless there is any more information you can give, I'm afraid we won't be of much help to you at this point.

Poor cat. The best thing you could do is separate them and make your dog understand no. Growling no at him wouldn't help your cat unless your dog understands what it means. Putting a leash on your dog may also be helpful.

I agree. I couldn't stand hearing people say they did terrible things to their dogs just because they couldn't take care of them anymore. Dog owners should be more responsible with their dogs.

I saw a pet cremation center once on television. I just couldn't remember what country that was but they also offered a place where the ashes of your pets could be kept. The owners could even place flowers, letters or the pet's favorite toys in a box for the deceased pet. It's actually cute and helpful, especially for those people who were really attached with their pets.

Oh wow, that's a tough situation. But if I were in your place, I would go with the note rather than confront her personally about what happened. I would also pray that the cat come back home without bad injuries. *fingers crossed*

My dog used to get so hungry like your dog. We'd feed her during breakfast, but since there are carpenters working in the backyard, she'd cry out to them and ask for food when she had just eaten. We didn't really know what to do because she just wouldn't shut up until such time that we told the carpenters to eat around back and just ignore her screams and cries. It eventually worked, but she still would bark a lot. That's another problem in another forum though.

If your Christmas tree could be placed on top of a table top, then do it. Place the presents in a place where your dog wouldn't be able to reach it. Or, you could try putting a fence around the Christmas tree so your dog wouldn't get to it. Of course, you have to make sure that your dog won't be able to leap over it.

Yeah, I saw that too. Poor pup. Maybe a little more rest next time. Although he's such a driven dog, he shouldn't be pushed way beyond his capacity. If he seems tired, even if he's as active as before, let him rest. :)

Ideally, you should train your dog within 5-10 minutes. Any longer than that and you could just lose your dog's attention to particularly anything, so I stick to that. I train my dog every day but sometimes it would be every other day. But no matter when I train my dog, I always pay attention to the length of the training.

Maybe you should clean it up with a saline solution as suggested by the other users here and then take him to a vet. It could be anything so a visit to the vet could be really helpful and it could possibly be the best approach you can have.
