  1. Simple is as simple does. I have followed this thread thinking you were doing the right thing BUT you have just sunk your rescue group before it even started Good luck Greylvr I would NEVER recommend a rescue group that has anything to do with PR. No problem its not like you would have given us a chance anyway. The whole PR thing is understandable and I will be off to read the whole thread.
  2. The rescue world is like a battlefield sometimes. Sad but true. I don't think you should be judged on taking a PR dog - I think that can happen to most people with good intentions. And even most of the negative things people will say about PR can't actually be backed up with proof, so it comes across as hearsay. But I think you're definitely armed with a lot of information about them now to make a judgment call and there are a lot of people you can talk to about them who are willing to share their experiences. People tend to forget that mistakes happen, regardless of how much you try to avoid them. It's how we learn from those mistakes that define us - whether personally or as a group. Thank you, I do understand though how people are saying here, most are trying to offer help and suggestions but some just really need to walk away and play with their dogs to work off some hostility. We will be fine I do see now why most rescues dont visit forums so thats another lesson learned.
  3. Actually I have taken in everything people have said, and made contacts with other rescues who have been doing this a long time, who are willing to talk any time I may need. I have taken what was said today in too. This person is on some kick there is no need for it but I guess its all in fun for her. I have no problems with people talking to me, asking questions but she doesnt care or have questions she wants to attack and belittle
  4. well I hope they at least get a muzzle for the non cat safe one, fancy taking on such a dog when you have a cat and not have a muzzle for it. Goes to show how well thought out this all was when they are asking for food, bedding, coats, toys, collars, muzzles. We do have muzzles 4 in fact. You obviously have an issue why dont you just not read the thread or stalk the facebook page if it upsets you so much. You have way too much time on your hands so your plea for someone to donate a muzzle has worked. Bet the cat is glad of that. Actually we had one for Ina already here waiting for her. Your pretty rude and its very disturbing how a grown woman stalks people then attacks them on a forum to fill in their day. That's not what your FB page said. Report me if you think this is an attack, easy to do. There are places that sell them here. We found some really nice ones

  7. I already started with a handicap just from posting on this forum what I wanted to do, got a great welcome into how crappy some people can be involved in rescue just glad I found some greyhound rescues that are ok with helping, sharing and networking.
  8. Yes you have been really great actually. Thanks dont really want to start behind the 8 ball. Ok so we have PR issue on one side and then on the other hand we have a group of people stalking the page just hoping to find something bad so they can run off to the forums and down us. Looks like we are off to a great start
  9. WOW that is a beautifully put together pup very nice
  10. I understand that but some of the attitudes here are just un called for, the snide comments thrown in with advice isnt going to make someone say "Oh your so nice I see you are trying to help let me talk to you more" If you know what I mean. Ina came to us from them directly, they had her for a bit. Lucky came to us from a guy who was told to have her put down and he wanted her saved. He asked PR if they new anyone who would take her so they paid her shipping down to me.
  11. Everything is sorted Ina is de sexed Lucky is not but she just had pups pulled off her so the vet we took her to today said to book an appointment after Christmas.
  12. So you aren't fostering this dog for PR? No I am not fostering her It will likely have kennel cough attached (at best) so hope you have a good quaranteen facility set up. She isnt fresh from the pound she actually has been in their care for some time now. It will likely have kennel cough attached (at best) so hope you have a good quaranteen facility set up. ah too late - I see she is in the house on the human bed? Yup thanks for following us so closely
  13. I said I wont foster for GAP or GSN or pound rounds actually? If I had room and any rescue contacted me to take a dog I would. If I had room and one of the rescues that I have been in contact needed to have someone foster a dog I would for them. You guys are getting to the point of acting childish
  14. How is it involved, we simply took a dog 1 from them and 1 from a trainer.
  15. there's always strings attatched with PR. You need to read the whole thread...every page. Or more to the point, they don't have strings attached and that is the problem. If there are issues with the dog, or you have problems - they will not be of any assistance. You will never hear from them again! Which isnt a problem since we are not fostering, when you take in a dog as a rescue you then become responsible for that dog you dont dump it back into a shelter or back onto the people who surrendered it 100% responsibility is yours to do the right thing for that dog.
  16. I thought you were rehoming specifically from one trainer only? No I said the trainer was a starting point for the retired greyhounds I did say I wasnt only rescuing from one trainer a bit back. This girl needed help so I agreed to take her.
  17. I have read some of it, but they needed help with the dog and are sending it down to us no strings attached
  18. Pound rounds had a greyhound sitting in a kennel facility so we agreed to take her as we were waiting for her another person had an 8 year old due to be killed so they asked if they could send her down as well let me guess you guys have a problem with this too
  19. Poor cat and poor owner. Our cat is never left around the dog when we are out too risky you just never know.
  20. I would think it would have a bad impact n the dog being shuffled around home to home
  21. I feed once a day at night. Dont have a set time usually after everyone is settled I feed so between 7-9 usually
