It's possible, but do you honestly think she is smart enough to organise all this and ensure it turns out the way she wants it to? Or do you think it is now out of her control and she didn't mean for it to go this far? I can't think of anyone that would want to put themselves in the position of facing charges. Does that mean the RSPCA raid was just coincidental timing or are you suggesting she reported herself? Not having a go at you at all so sorry if it comes across that way, just can't fathom someone doing that to themselves? -
So glad to hear a Roo update. Thanks for the photos- she is as gorgeous as ever!

Thanks MRB- I didn't know about that website, will come in handy :)

The photos have been reposted on the truths & deleted content page. How could anyone in their right mind think the cats were being handled the right way or that they were enjoying being handled that way. You can see how bloody terrified the poor things are and how hard they are trying to get away from the kid -

It is and I feel really sad for the volunteers, they don't deserve to be treated that way. When I met her that is exactly how she came across - tough as nails and didn't care what anyone thought about her or what she was doing, just did what she wanted. -

I get the impression that Lola may be as blinded as the rest of Mark's supporters. If she could see just how much damage he is doing I am sure she would have shut him up by now, especially considering the way he has obviously been acting and speaking towards the people that have stuck by her for so long but there has been nothing. That would be even worse. And I'm not making excuses but she is an older lady, living in the country spending most of her time out in the shelter and this is a huge generalisation because I've just gotten back from visiting country relatives who do have emails and internet etc.....but that generation don't always 'get' social media. They don't get the nutters, the grandstanders, the viral nature of it or the damage that can be done when things snowball. Up to this, it was probably just a useful medium to advertise the animals. Now it's a campaign with legs of it's own being driven by one guy and his new fans. Here's hoping that a fraction of the ones who shout the loudest are getting off their bums and physically helping those animals instead of just talking about it. Mark maybe you could put the cowboy boots aside and go scoop some poop. :D I agree that Lola probably is not overly facebook savvy, but it's not just happening on the internet. She would have to know about the volunteer shutting down the website and why. She would have to know why 3 or 4 of the long term volunteers have left. If she honestly has no idea what is going on and how much damage he is causing I would be pretty surprised. She might not know the full extent but you would think you would have some idea that a person is not doing you any good when he is alienating the people that have been by your side the longest. -

This is not correct. When I got my boy in October, he had only been desexed three or four days before I picked him up. He still had his stitches in. In regards to the 3 days in the trailer/van thing.. when I picked up Gus there wasn't a trailer, but he was the only dog that was there when I picked him up. He had come down in the van and when I got there he was wandering around out the front of Lola's daughters property. The daughter had a GSD that did not like other dogs and was going of its head at Gus from the other side of the fence. So if animals are staying at Lola's daughters house, they are definitely kept in either the van or the trailer overnight, there was no where else for them to go. -

That's pretty disturbing.. especially being left in the open.. what if one of the roaming cats decided it would be something good to play with? The website message has changed again. -

Lol Jo I suspect you are right. Then when that doesn't get him anywhere he has a huff and storms off to crack a tanty, muttering under his breath the whole way  I feel so sorry for the poor volunteers that have been there through thick and thin and are now getting kicked to the curb -

Lol very grateful, thank you :) It will be interesting to see what he has to say and if he ignores the organiser and pushes his own agenda anyway, which wouldn't surprise me. It will be good to see how he conducts himself if he says something that others do not agree with.. he won't have a computer screen to hide behind and a keyboard to hit delete on.. When I met Lola she came across as a tough old chook. Weak and frail are not words I would use to describe her at all, in fact are quite the opposite. The website message has been changed again. Hopefully my attachment works - I don't know how to put screenshots in my post like you do. -
I wanted to reply but everytime I started typing I gave up and went back to lol

There is a Petstock just up South Road in Melrose Park. Across the road from that and a bit further back towards Plympton is a great place called the Meat Market - I haven't personally got bones or dog meat from there but I'm sure they would sell it - they have a huge range, order stuff in if it is not in stock and are pretty cheap too. Closest Woolworths would either be Glenelg or Mitcham.

Happy to help foster at no cost, but not happy to donate blankets or food as the RSPCA can surely cope with their spare 14 million. -

I'm so grateful for DOL.. I've been away for a few days without internet access.. without this thread I would have missed all the going ons and deleted posts  The councils attitude towards dumping animals on Lola because it is "too expensive" for them to euthanise is disgusting. I have heard it from several people, including riverland residents, that the Riverland council's euthanasia method is a bullet at the local dump. I don't think they are worried about the cost of that, I think it is more that they are lazy and it is easier for them to dump the animals on Lola and save the backlash from the few people in the riverland that actually give a c**p about what happens to the animals up there (there don't seem to be very many!) LOL at Mark's facebook post that Snook put up about the shortfalls on social networking. Pot calling the kettle black, anyone? I would love to find out who is doing this media story and point them towards Mark's fake facebook profiles! Disturbing that the BSL group have asked him to speak. Something so important and they are going to use someone like him. If at all possible I would say there is potential for him to cause the BSL issue more harm that what he has already done Moorook. I hope whoever is organising the event realises what he is really like before it is too late. I hate that he keeps playing the elderly card. Who cares if Lola is old. She's not that old. And regardless, when you get older, there are things you can't do anymore and if you can't do something because you can no longer keep up or it is unsafe, you shouldn't try. If someone is old and isn't capable of driving a car anymore, you aren't going to let them go out and drive just because you feel bad because they are old. If Lola is at the age where it is too hard for her to keep up with all the requirements and needs of the shelter and animals, then she shouldn't be doing it. So glad to see people are starting to realise how dodgy he is. It is disturbing that Lola doesn't seem to care that he is pissing off the people that have stuck by her for so long... without them she will have no one as soon as the media circus and Mark are gone and will be in a worse position. As soon as the media has died down and Mark can't get any more publicity out of Moorook and Lola he will be gone and she will be left to pick up the pieces. I really feel for the long term volunteers that seem to have been put on the back bench rather rudely. I can't believe he actually tried to say that Star Force got called out for some cows  that is the most ridiculous thing I have EVER heard. As for the police being out there, the only thing they would have been called out for is to direct traffic. Police are not called out to euthanise animals that have been hit by cars, I don't believe they even have rights to do that. Not in the metro area anyway- there are a couple of specialist shooters that have special permits that are called out to put an animal out of its misery if it has been injured by a car. And they would not shoot cows anyway lol. I love that Mark's wife is actually arguing with someone that was there and is providing a first hand account. Seems even she believes Mark's bulls**t spin haha. I hope Mark is forced to explain about the website statement. I would love to hear what he has done to make the volunteer do that. On the other hand, I hope he keeps digging his hole deeper, so the emails are posted for all to see. Finally - minimax - LOL, hit the nail on the head, just perfect. -
