YES YES YES !!!!! That is just what it means Tracy !! and I have just such a pup here now with brand new papers Linda
-
You know after a conversation last night that jogged my memory I may be able to shed a little light on why they use the window envelopes? MANY years ago I transfered my very first registered dog into my name and the papers never arrived. Anyway over a course of some months and many phone calls none of the papers they posted arrived. In frustration the lass on the phone printed a new certificate and stuck it in a next day envelope and hand addressed it as I told her my address. It arrived the following day with a name and address of some one in Victoria on the pedigree. Some where between the computer screen she was looking at and the printer the dog was given to some stranger. Papers went back yet again and that time they did come back all correct. A happy ending for sure but a royal pain attempting to get his certificate.

Oh dear I actually thought that some one had ordered the wrong envelopes and the format was changed rather than waste stationary. Either way I do NOT LIKE the new formatte at all. It looks unprofesional and badly laid out. Cheers Linda

And here we have yet another idea. Last night I took 2 Maremma Sheepdogs to Hillsbrough grounds as they *ostencibily* wanted dogs from group 5 to go over. I was there over an hour and not 1 person had the deciency to speak to me. Not 1 person had the deciency to let me know what they would need or for that matter IF they still wished to have Maremma or for that metter ANY dogs to go over. With this kind of plain ignorance is it any wonder that new people don't stay long? I personally struggle to come up with any kind of a reason to tell my puppy people they will gain any benifit at all from being a member of their state body. After 10 years I am still a newbie and I have been happy being a newbie, BUT, people IF you want help, new members or just plain folks to enter shows, then how about making an attempt at showing good manners? A smile? Would it kill you? I can promise you I can think of way more interesting things to do with my dogs. and I just may do them instead of showing a lot more often in future. End Rant Linda

Double Digets For Puppies Expected In Next Litter
zoiboy replied to Tapua's topic in Breeders Community
It was a supprise to me as well!! Worked out that over 8 weeks when Wombat had 14 pups last year we used around 6 kgs of washing powder a week. I am afraid to actually add up what I spent on cleaning alone. Cheers Linda -
For both litters we have had here the vet comes to us for the post whelping check up and also for microchiping and vacination. I get the vacination book a couple of days before so they are all filled out ready. The pups are confined to the whelping area until they have had their turn and then out in the yard with them until all are done. The first time round it was pretty quick, as with only 8 it really was easy. The second time we had 13 and that took a bit longer

Hi Irish Lassy, I know your excitment well, with Freya's litter I could pick up heart beats at about 6 weeks I think and it was amusing to listen to them beating away. Freya also enjoyed the extra attention I beieve. Fast forward to last year and her daughter Wombat was in whelp and not for love or money could I pick up heart beats or for that matter much in the way of movment (compared with Freya's litter at least). Turned out that Wombat had a very crowded situation going on with 14 big whelps jamed in there like sardines in a tin. Wombat was not quite as happy to have me listening as Freya had been and with the wisdom of hindsight I think this was due to her being so uncomfortable with the bellie full of pups. (the pups alone weighed 9.2 kgs at birth). Cheers Linda

Oh boy what adorable little mites you have there. They look like they are having a great deal of fun playing in the grass. CONGRATULATIONS Linda (who is off to wash the next of the brood to leave home today)

Oh I am so sad for the family and the puppy. I have been on the recieving end of this particular kindness. I actually had a few offers very early in my grieving that I politley refused. Eventually after some weeks I was offered a pup from a litter that had not yet been whelped. I was far more ready to think about a pup when the offer was made and the fordging of that friendship during the last weeks of Bri's pregnancy is such that 10 years later that breeder and I are still great friends. Talk as much as the puppy buyers want and make the offer when it feels right. My last litter was such a litter as well. There was a puppy buyer that I recommended to another breeder and they had a pup they believed but it turned out not to be so. They came to play with my guys the day they were to have picked up their pup and during the conversation I promised them first choice of the males. I could not be happier with the home that boy has and the family. He is well loved and has brought a great deal of joy to them. Oh and the pup they chose was number 14, kinda explained why there were so many Cheers Linda

Hi All, I realise that this topic pops up often and I have spoken to Applecross Vets already. What I am wondering now is, are they the only vets in Perth who collect dogs? Are there other vets, preferably south Perth or south of Perth I could look into? Cheers Linda

Wow being at the top of the central coast am I pleased with my vet. I stay at least until my gys are sleeping and often for the whole operation / xray ultrasound or what ever. Never do my guys *get admitted* early in the day and just left. I arrive with em at the right time then just stay.......... I had 2 home visits in the last few weeks (13 poopies is not a vet trip I want to make for vacinations and microchips) the bill was the nicest supprise out as that was way less than I expected and we had 2 vets and a nurse in the house wadeing thu the great white wave of death and distruction. Cheers Linda

Hi, I am *living* the large litter just now. Womby whelped 14 huge healthy pups 4 weeks ago weighing between 530 grams and 670 grams. This was a natural delivery after a long week of my worrying about her as she was so uncomfortable. I gave her melted icecream between whelps (as she wanted it) and I did suplement a couple of the pups with divetalac for 2 or 3 days. This annoyed the Bat so I took to just making sure that the couple I was concerned about got a fair shake at the milk bar. We did loose a fat healthy pup to being sat on by his mother on day 4 but aside from that it has all gone well. I have not split the litter at all as that annoyed her so what I have done is just sit and watch when I am not feeding her. For the first week or so the Bat was drinking 10 liters of milk a day (that went up as did the bowl count when the pups found it) along with 18 eggs as much meat as was on offer, cat bikkies, dog bikkies and table scraps. The Bat's milk supply is up to the task it seems as all the pups are now at around the 3 to 4 kilo mark, eating meat and bikkies 3 times a day as well as milk. So far so good. Next time Chris does an ultrasound for me I will make sure he looks at *both* horns Cheers Linda

Well what can I say other than WOW. I sat for a very frustrating couple of hours doing poopie regristrations online on wednesday (most of the frustration was due to interuptions from the phone (wretched thing seems to know I want to pay full attention). Today in the mail is a great big envelope from DogsNSW with all the official rego's. Brilliant service to say the least and I am left to wonder how much quicker it could possibly be if you want a rush service? So to the staff at DogsNSW :D Cheers Linda and the great white wave

You know what I find interesting, the fact that I post the message above and within 24 hours I get an email from Gt to ask if I wish to make alternative arrangments for the collection. Now to start new research. Cheers Linda

Has anyone else had an email from Frozen Puppies? Cheers Linda

Womby is VERY maternal and she is VERY protective of them, just the perfect mother. Now I can not be certian but my fingers tell me she is sure not looseing any weight and may even have gained a little. Pup's have had 2 feeds of her meals as well today so they might start to sprout more? Cheers Linda

Womby is FANTASTIC and now the poopies are eating her breakfast as well. It'll make the butcher smile for sure. L

Ok after a nap and a small tantrum (on my part and not in that order), here is todays photo.

i give up for now. i can not for love or money make a gigantic photo small enough for DOL just now.

Precious little really. The whole thing went live on ustream (that was not quite intended, but s**t happens) and apparently I should have helped a lot more according to some. I rubbed the odd pup and put them in reach now and then. As the next pup arrived I took the last pup, weighed it and coloured it. Provided milk and or icecream between whelps. Mostly I left it to the bitch as thats what she does. Since whelping I seem to feed her often, wash her bedding and butt. Yesterday I put them out in the yard for a few hours and that will continue now. Cheers Linda

Well you certainly have your work cut out for you! :D Here's me thinking 4 - 6 possible little CKCS babies was going to keep me running round in circles (it still may) but you're going to have far more fun!! PS. You'd be wanting a "Milking Goat" not cow LOL OK OK 2 milking goats but the milk maid request still stands!!! Oh Steve you crack me up!! I have party coloured marshmellows there are blue ones and green ones and red ones and aqua ones and yellow ones. There are 2 tho that are just white!! Ran out of colours and options so it was just as well the last 2 were one of each :p Cheers Linda
