Barron's dog training bible by Andrea Arden is brilliant. covers everything from understanding your dog, positive training, house training (including crate) and socialisation to behaviour problems and how to correct as well as teaching tricks etc. Around $27.00. Perfect book for someone getting a puppy :)

Thanks for that wreckitwhippet - much appreciated, they were who I was leaning towards. I am still not sure on how he will go in a kennel, he is an inside dog who sleeps on our bed with us ... anyone kennel their dogs before who are use to this sort of environment? how did they go?

Hi Guys, long time lurker, first time poster! I really need some help finding a good boarding kennel for my puppy (6 months old ) for just overnight and a doggy day care for the day before and after. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have Googled and found two that look O.K, but also found one with two really bad reviews .... involving the return of a very skinny dog and a lost dog never to be returned it has me worried because I can't find any reviews for the other kennels in Dubbo. So if anyone has any experiences or suggestions it would be much appreciated!
