  1. Thank you so much for those kind words, I am not expecting the same from our new boy in fact I think I have talked myself into the complete opposite lol so anything better than what is in my head at the minute will be a bonus :) I can be honest and say that I still have terrible bouts of sadness about Molly dog she really was my soul mate and I miss her every day but she is on mantle overlooking the daily household ins and outs and still feel her calming presence every day. We live at the beach so once Harry is fully vacinated we will venture every where including puppy school, the difference between a socialised dog and not is huge so this is a major priority to us. PS ....... I have the wine all stocked lol
  2. Your Black Cockers are beautiful, I love the gold as well but after having Molly I could not have another gold especially a girl so Black boy it was and I am just a little bit excited.
  3. Thank you everyone!! My puppy Harry is a Black Cocker spaniel male, the breeder this afternoon sent through a fantastic check list and puppy pack so made me feel a little calmer lol. I will definately start how we mean to continue with the training as this is what we did with Molly and honestly she was the most polite dog you could wish for (I know they will be differnt). Have booked puppy school for when he is 12 weeks at his new vet. And should I really let him slepp with us if he wont settle at night, I remember Molly screaming the house down and we put her bed by our bed in our bedroom and she settled and was fantastic from there on in. I will post pictures and a bit of a story when he's been home a couple of days, good luck to all the other expecting puppy parents I think giving birth to a human is easier lol
  4. Feels like the longest wait ever..... like finding out your pregnant the first week of pregnancy and having the longest pregnancy ever!!! As some would know we lost our beautiful Molly dog at 12.5 yrs and have had a puppy picked since the day he was born 4th November. Now he is flying in on Weds arghhhh. Any tips for first few nights and any general settling tips?? Been a long long time without a baby around. Have the list ticked with food from breeder, puppy pads, new bed, play pen, puppy safe toys, wormer and flea treatment?? Feel like a nervous first time Mother
  5. Hi We live on the Central coast where tick and fleas are terrible due to sand and bush. My vet has said the only product to use for ticks is a preventic collar and whatever spot on treatment for fleas without the tick repellant. They say they last 2 months but he said to change them every month in high tick season. :)
  6. You will always miss your Molly Dog, Sheenat. I have 10 urns on my bookshelf and I still think of just about every one of them just about every day. There does come a time, when, if they have lived to a good age like Molly, you start to remember with a smile instead of tears. And even when there are tears, there will be smiles because you will see Harry hooning around like a likely lad should. :) Thank you that made me teary lol!!! I know and we have been laughing about what a terribly naughty puppy Molly was and still was VERY naughty right up till 3 months before she passed away. She stole things like you would not believe, she did it very honestly and just buried them in the garden, last year she stole 4 presents from under the Christmas tree we found the last present in May in a spot she had never used before. The most clever dog who did so many tricks (years of puppy school.... she loved it and was the star pupil) and was soooooo obediant but was a total cleptomaniac (sp??) lol
  7. There will be lots of cute pictures yay. I feel happy-sad still soooooooooo miss my Molly dog!!!!
  8. what a fantastic description!!!!!! I so wanted gold hence Molly but looking forwards to a black smudge!!!!
  9. Have to agree with the cocker bit we will see about the black lol but your black looks stunning, we loved our gold!!!
  10. Sure there will be photos galore ad thanks for your kind comments.
  11. Thanks for that and I did contact Jed.
  12. Thank you, after everyones comments last night I am going to keep Mollys beds, I am sure we will go through some puppy chewing so will put her good beds away clean so he has nice new beds when hes a little more grown up, I will leave her beds out till he comes home, I dont know why but it is comforting having them around still.
  13. Thank you!!! Im sure we are going to be a very happy and busy household. The balck and Tan Cockers seem to be getting quite popular now. Thanks for all your help!!
  14. I dont know what it is with the beds I just like them to be where they have always been for so long, I moved one the other day when I was doing the cleaning and it was horrible not having it where it should be... so it went straight back. Even my husband has said to leave the beds, we will see what Harry thinks when he arrives??
  15. I have just seen that you are on the coast like me, if you would like any of Mollys old dog soft beds please let me know and I can drop them to you for your rescues )
  16. We have Mollys collar and lead with her tags with her on the mantle, we have only ever had 2 dogs, when Tango passed away before getting Molly I made a huge mistake in cleaning all traces of Tango away from the house nt deliberatly but in a frantic emotional cleaning way and I remember feeling so so empty and as if his life was worthless as I had cleaned him away, so with Molly we left the house un touched really untill her ashes came home and slowly I have been doing bits and pieces and whilst I am doing things I chat away with her. Non animal people would think I was totally mad, but its just how I have dealt with Mollys passing or should say trying to deal with Mollys passing. I sorry for the loss of "Chuck" and he would be so proud of your work with the beautiful greyhounds.
  17. I did take alot of Mollys stuff that I washed to my vet as he does alot of work with the rescue dogs, I just like her beds still where they have always been just for now. We will use Mollys outer beds for Harry but will get new inner bits for him and I will drop all Mollys lovely old girl soft and warm bedding up to the vet again, hopefully for another old dog needing something soft to lie on. We get to meet Harry hopefully around the 30th December or there abouts, the breeder (Kathryn) has been amazing with so many updates and he is only 6days old.
  18. Thank you Molly was beautiful!!!!! my total soul mate, Harry will be more my daughters dog, the house was toooooo quiet without cocker spaniel footprints in it, so here comes Harry puppy breath and all. Molly has pride of place on our mantel, we still have not put her beds away, and I know I am going to have to do this before "Harry" arrives, but for now I'm happy to leave them where they are.
  19. We loved the little bit of white as well, bit differn't and cute
  20. He's a bit cute we are so excited and nervous after having such a well behaved Molly dog in our house for 12 1/2 long years a new puppy will be differn't but sooooo exciting.
  21. Harry 3 hours old does look a little like a guinea pig, but sooo cute!!!
  22. Just a quick note to say thank you to everyone for your support on a new puppy. Our new black baby boy cocker spaniel will arrive into our home at the end of December, he is from Irish Clan cocker spaniels here in NSW, he is just adorable and we have been receiving just about daily pictures from Kathryn of our new boy "Harry" again thank you.
