I think so too! Hank is the sort of dog who can chill out while we have coffee, Odie on the other hand is a nightmare in that situation because everything excites her too much. I leave her at home if I plan on grabbing lunch after a walk, it's less stressful for the both of us! We also have a frenchie and she use to get very excited when we took her out. I think now that she is older she is much better and use to it. My OH and I generally have breakfast out on the weekend. but we have to go before a certain time to take Lucy otherwise its hard to get a table outside. If its too late then we generally don't bring her so it opens up our options of where we can sit. We are in a very dog friendly area.

I have found that Lucy ends up chewing the bottle almost flat and trapping the food in the bottle when I give her kibble in a bottle and they chewing can definitely make it sharp She has a Kong wobbler is loves it! Though she isn't too food orientated so I put both treats and kibble in there. It did take her a week or so to understand that she has to use her paw to knock it over for the food to come out and I did have to show her a few times.

We have been using Richard from Doggonit and has been amazing. He takes the pup out and trains them himself properly and then teaches you the correct way to reinforce what is learnt.

I don't have one for sale though I did buy a Ruffwear Cooling Coat from Pet Lovers Cafe in Guildford the other week and use it all the time. Maybe an alternative to explore?

In regards to the cruciate rupturing – have you tried hydrotherapy? It has worked wonder for my pup to the point that she didn’t need surgery anymore.

Yes it's from a specialist. And we will be getting her a doggy wheelchair to help with her recovery if both legs are done to keep her mobile without hindering the recovery and keep both pup and the family sane.

My 14 month frenchie is in need of surgery on her back right leg due to a luxating patella. The surgery is needed to straighten the ligaments so they all align cause At the moment it isnt straight causing her knee cap to pop out. The surgeon said that her other leg (back left leg) is also not straight and eventually will need surgery too but it isn't poppy out like the back right leg. The surgeon also said that the surgery is a permenant fix so it will only ever need one surgery. Do I decide to operate on both legs at once? Or the back right now as it is popping out and the other leg later when it starts to pop out (this could happen anytime. Could be a couple of months or years). At the moment I am leaning towards doing both legs in the same surgery so there is only one surgery and recovery time. Has anyone come gone through this process? Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks

I am with woolworths pet insurance and have claimed and think they are great. Very fast and great communication. I read a lot of the pds from pet insurance and found that RSPCA and Medicare as well as Woolworths All belong to the Hollard Insurance Group. In the fine print it also states that a certain percentage of the premium goes to marketing etc. woolworths had the smallest percentage at around 16% and RsPCA must higher around 43% (from memory). Also I had heard that pet plan was great through friends though wasn't keen on the $100 excess. Most of my vet visits have been under $100 and therefore cannot be claimed (except fun when my frenchie broke her leg) whereas the woolworths insurance has no excess policy so I can claim every time.

Hi. We have an 8 month off French bulldog and this will be her first Christmas. Has anyone had any problems in the past with Christmas trees and their pups? I can just imagine doing the Christmas tree up and coming in to find it all in tatters. Our frenchie lives inside with us and isn't crate trained as she is just a member of the family. Our lounge room cannot be blocked off either. Any recommendations?
