Optimum Puppy Formula (dry)
NalaCleo replied to insertcoolnamehere's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I had my Boxer on Optimum Puppy dry food til he was 18 months. Now he and my Bullmastiff x Ridgeback are on Great Barko. My French Bulldog was on Royal Canin medum breed Puppy and now on Royal Canin Medium breed Adult and he LOVES it. Ahhh so thats why its been super discounted and my local pet produce place ! -
I went to Petbarn in Alexandria on Saturday and they had both the Advance and the Royal Canin Rehydratable. They also had the Oakwood Shampoos and conditioners. I bought the Oatmeal and Aloe vera one for $12.68. It was great and cleansed well and made Pierre's coat very soft. There wasn't as much fragrance or shine though but i'd say that is becasue its more for sensitive skin so focuses more or skin than coat. Affirmation - If you can't find it let me know coz i'm happy to grab one for you.

True. If you find a place... there is no harm in calling them up and asking if it's pet friendly. Some will say no straight away, and some will ask about the pets and stuff. then ask the real estate people if they know any pet friendly rentals around there. good luck Nush!! Exactly... I'm about to put my house on the rental market and I don't plan on advertising it as pet friendly. However if the right tenant comes along who happens to have a dog I would probably say yes provided they have pet references. Where about Macka? North Rocks. Will be available from 20th Feb. I may post a link next week when the ad is up. Hi. I'd be interested if you could send me the link ;)

Pierre has a standard dog bowl. He walks with a harness unless i'm practising walking him in the ring which he then wears a thin check chain. Baby wipes are fine to clean in wrinkle folds and on white parts of the face u can put vaseline on to prevent staining. Pierre eats 1/4 raw meat mixed with 3/4 Royal Canin dry food. Yes he has a good appetite so he seems to oput on weight easily. Pierre loves his food and is easy to train with treats I wash him in Aloveen Oatmeal Shampoo

I have found European lines to be generally "taller" than the American lines

If they have human company and a romp with some doggy friends every now and then they will be fine. It's important to socialise them with other dogs, but I wouldn't say they have to live with another dog. I agree with Sparky.

Bobtails can also be shown Here is a link from the Boxberry website on info about bobtail Boxers: Bobtail link

Looking For The 'tastiest' Dry Dogfood
NalaCleo replied to Stitch's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I tried a 1.5 kilo bag of "Yoghurt Plus" as it was on special for under $5 at Woolies and the dogs loved it mixed in with their usual biscuits but it stank to high heaven when i opened the bag -

I have found "Nutrience Large Breed Puppy" to never fail with fussy Boxers. -
You could put a [post in the rescue forum to see if any rescue groups in your area might like to take it off your hands..

Uncle Albers has a slightly higher protein content 24% as against 22%. o.k thanks. I'll see how I go with Great Barko.
-
Is the only difference between Grea Barko and Uncle Albers the meat type ? I see Great Barko is Breef & Lamb and Uncle Albers is Beef and Chicken. I prefer Lamb over Chicken for my Boxer so i went with Great Barko.
-
Bought my 1st bag of Great Barko today :D 22kg for $29.95 at Petfood Plus on Canterbury Road, Roselands I will be introducing it into the dogs dinner tonight
-
I would introcude it slowly as too much in one go may give him the runs. maybe only a tablespoon or 2 to start off with
-
My boy's hair grew back quite quickly (within 2 weeks you could see a big difference. I guess it depends on how affected he already is. I washed my boy in Pyohex once a week and "Aloveen Oatmeal Conditioner" as a soothing agent on his skin afterwards and I think these helped alot.

Hair Loss, Brindle Boxer Any Ideas?
NalaCleo replied to spiderpig's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I would take her to the vet asap for a skin scrape. It could be Demodectic Mange .... not that likely due to her age but it is still a possibilty. Boxers are more prone to having sensitive skin so it could be an allergy to certain foods or something in the environment but i would get a skin scrape 1st and go from there. Good luck ! -
Sorry to hear this happened to you! I wouldnt be taking any pups into your house/yard for atleast 3 - 4 months (the longer the wait the better) and if you do get another in the next 12 months I would suggest to get one atleast 12 weeks of age or over so they have atleast had 2 vaccinations.
-
O.k great thanks
-
Never mind. I just looked up their website and saw that Petcare 2000 at Wetherill Park stocks it
-
Can someone please tell me where in Sydney I can buy it ? I went to 3 different Pet produce places on the weekend and no one had it
-
Yep no titer test - up to you if you want to vaccinate for it yearly I was under the impression, and both my dogs have confirmed it to be true, that once you dog has contracted KC it ias higly unlikey for them to ever get it again (aside from when they are ill and/or elderly) so what would be the reaosn to get them vaccined against it more than once ?
