When They Love You So Much It Hurts....
Teebs replied to MadWoofter's topic in General Dog Discussion
My best are from other peoples dogs when working at kennels Greyhound - bent down to pat him As he jumped up. Doc was amazed my nose wasn't broken. Saw stars and nose was sore for months 2 weeks after he got me, a boxer did the same thing!! Hurt 100 times more than the first time!! Another time I went to get a bull terrier out of her run, I bent down to put a lead on her and she jumped and smashed the door on my head. Blood everywhere, stars again, worst headache for days but only a small cut!! Funniest I have had with my own dogs was with mum when I was away. She was looking after atlas for me, walking around the yard when he stopped moving... She didnt see him and kept going... Stuffed her arm so bad that years later she still has issued, they keep talking about an operation but hasn't happened yet, she thought she broke her hip but X-rays were clear, couldn't move for weeks. Poor mum  -
Yep keep record of everything, they were pretty slack marking assessments too

I wish you lived near me. I have an 11 year old cat badly grieving for my dog I lost a few months ago We could hook them up for play dates and see if it helped them both
-
video. I am in NSW and not Sydney and went to the sydney courses. All my tests were done via video

i dont see why you cant do it, only that you will have to travel to do the week blocks they have

yep, sentinel makes eggs unable to hatch, so you need to use it with capstar/flea collar or something else. it means no more eggs will hatch, but the adults will live until killed Comfortis kills the adults but not the eggs. So they will still hatch and jump on the dog, but not live. Its a shame they cant mix the two and make something that does both.

What Flea & Tick Product Do You Use? Also What Heartworm?
Teebs replied to SarahJ88's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sentinel - we dont get ticks here so no need to worry about that, thank god! -
Look into sentinel. I'm off work for 2 weeks but I'm sure it's then who have a guarantee if in 4 months of using their product the right way they will help pay you and the vet to control the flea problem Won't help right away, but if still there at least you have their help to fix it I don't use spot ons. Rather use the tablets. Seem to get a better result

Horsegal Go read the link above will give you an idea on how bad it can get The boy I knew started one day, 3 days later nothing would stop him and he had no pads left on this paws. Limping in pain he would still do it

Toowoomba - Knowledgeable In Home Dog Sitter
Teebs replied to Jetpoint GSP's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ok. I have worked in kennels and had a lot of them through. Never had an issue. My girl is also a people dog. But if going for one night she is fine in the yard with someone checking on her. Good luck finding someone -

My stafford isn't a pig. When I was training her I used water as a reward as she was not interested in food when out

i have 4 cats, one dog and am 19 weeks pregnant i have thought about this a lot and honestly dont know what i would do. I guess it would depend how bad it was, if it was the cats i may be lucky to rehome them with my parents, if it was kaos then i guess it would be a dog free area of the house, she could come in once baby was asleep... i dont know. The though of rehoming them makes me sick, but baby comes first. Fingers crossed it is no issue for us

What's the best day to go and look? I'm free all days and might go for a drive
-
What dates is it on?
-
I really hate the its the parents comments... Drives me crazy Sometimes parents do all they can and the kids still act out and sneek out and do what they want (i have seen it, my parents did everything they could to get my brothers to do what they were told and nothing worked, by fining them or making my parents pay for their actions, it would have done nothing to stop the boys (note: they NEVER did anything like this, but just silly teenager crap, drinking and sneeking out at night and not coming home when told)) As for the kids involved in this, i agree, they should be locked up for a year or so and not let off because they are so young.

When im old I'm getting my dogs from the pound, the 10+ year old ones no one loves My mum and dad will always have a dog. The next dog will be aggreed on with me. As if they can't care for it I will take it on
-
i have been called a male many times, doesnt really worry me though!
-
I vote cat first as well. Up into recently I had 2 dogs and 4cats Always found it easier bringing puppies In to the house over kittens I find the current cats know how to get away and all the hidey holes. They don't stress as much as a cat who has never been in the house and has no idea how to get away

Anyone Boarded At Doggy Farm Stay Middle Dural?
Teebs replied to JoAnnP's topic in General Dog Discussion
Dingbat first of all. this is NOT your fault, so try not to feel guilty about it. Second, i know you are in a bad palce now, but please dont fall for the "dog aggression means human aggression" thing, my SBT hates other dogs, and would allow a child to do anything to her I hope your family can get through this horrible event. but just remember, this is the kennels fault, not yous -
Anyone Boarded At Doggy Farm Stay Middle Dural?
Teebs replied to JoAnnP's topic in General Dog Discussion
I wonder if the other dogs owners know what happened? Things like this worry me, my girl is dog aggressive, if put with another dog there is a good chance of a fight. How the hell do you know that the kennels are doing the right thing by any of the dogs. The last kennel I worked at ran dogs together. I was ok with it most of the time as is was up to the owners to say yes it no. I started to work out a way to leave after the staff would grab random dogs who's owners were not ok with it and have their dogs play as well
