  1. Mornings It used to be nights but Atlas would end up having to go to the toilet in the middle of the night, so i moved it to mornings and never had the issue again! Also easier for me in winter (and them) as everyone just wants to come inside into the warm, not sit outside eating!
  2. I would be getting someone in to help you sort this. The most terrifying dog I have ever met was a Pom. Talking to the owners this dog started out the same. Barking at people, then it turned to growing and got to the stage that no vet or kennel would take it. I pet sat once and told them never again. I have never been so scared of a dog. Not saying this is what will happen to your dog, but size means shit and I would be getting on top of this, I did in house training with a pom once, he came in not even knowing his name, left doing 100% off lead work. Great little dogs with the right owners sadly 4 years later this dog is back to bring its old self, training was too hard for them
  3. I know a bully who used this, her eyes were shocking and this solved it - it was a forever thing Dads old Bulldog also used it, you could tell in hours if you missed a dose
  4. I think it's a great idea. There have been huge periods in my life where I know the only thing that kept me going were my pets. If I didn't have animals to play with I dont think I would have copped. I know many people in housing department homes who have letters from doctors etc saying they must have their pets with them. If it helps someone out then who really cares?
  5. I'm happy to do it. Not crawling on hands and knees though! No way I would get back up!! I'm at work but off sun/mon and can do it then? Just Pm Me. I'm on my phone and it won't let me pm you
  6. $12 at the vets... im never doing another animals nails again! Atlas was a nightmare, 2 people job and i was never strong enough to hold him down! Love my vet!
  7. I would tell them to deal with it it piss off. I will lock kaos out if I have new visitors as she is a pita! But if I was told I had to. You can bet I would have her inside ;) I have one friend who is allergic to cats, she has never asked me but I always lock the cats away when she is over, otherwise anyone else can go jump
  8. 12 - 18 months for me. I have always thought about what breed next thing when i had my 2 dogs. Now i have lost Atlas I want another asap Kaos can be a bitch around other dogs and im having a baby in Feb. If i knew it was going to work i would get a puppy today, but if things with new dog and kaos dont work out well, its going to be a lot of work. So baby first, then see what we are up to in the middle of next year. I have a breed picked out, sadly not another Bull Terrier so just need to wait and see
  9. Kaos loves her Kongs toy that looks like an adult toy
  10. I would be making a complaint and not waiting for the lady to take that step
  11. Im still trying to find out where i was rude... You asked for opinions, its a public forum and you cant expect everyone to agree with you.
  12. Lol. I had a bull terrier and sbt. So you don't need to talk to me about the risks of dogs being stolen. No comment on the dumping the dogs In the back yard. I know my dogs have a better life being out there when I'm not home then they ever would being locked In the house. I also know that if there is a fire they won't be locked inside with no chance (cats have an outside cat run they can get into) Anyways, I've dumped my dog in the back yard with a huge meaty bone for the day and have an appointment to go to.
  13. I believe in crating. My dogs have all been done, until toilet trained, but unless medically needed there Is no way I would use it during the day. Dogs are dogs. They need to run And roll in dead things and do dog stuff - even if that's sleeping in the sun all day. I could never lock a dog up in a crate or puppy pen during the day unless I didn't have a secure yard....but if I didn't have a secure yard I wouldn't get a dog
  14. I would have left him alone by now anyways when i got kaos and Atlas i went to work (10 hour days) the monday after i got them. It was their new life so they had to get used to it. In the back yard, water, food, toys and shelter. they were safe and fine i find people who do the slowly slowly way end up sometimes having dogs that have issues with being alone. I like knowing that if something happens and i cant get home that my animals will cope for a day or two without me (only ever happened once when i was away and OH had a breakdown at work and couldnt get home) dogs and cats were fine. No one stressed As for food, put it in the bowl, give him 10 mins and take it off him, offer again at next feed time
  15. already in the paper http://www.centralwesterndaily.com.au/story/963334/baiter-plays-a-deadly-game/?cs=103 DOG lovers are being warned to be vigilant when walking their pets after a substance believed to be snail bait or rat poison was found in two recreational areas of Orange. See your ad here Orange City Council spokesman Allan Reeder confirmed there had been two reports of the bait in the past four days, one near a walkway in the Ploughman’s Lane wetlands and the other near the footpath in the leash-free area adjacent to Duntryleague, Wirrabarra Walk. Mr Reeder said while council didn’t want to alarm people, it was concerning to learn the poison had been left alongside walkways in places frequented by small children and dogs. “It may well be an emerging trend,” he said. “We don’t know if they’re targeting dogs but there’s a risk that a small child could pick it up.” He said council had reported the incidents to police and rangers would step up their patrols. “Council staff can’t be everywhere so we’d like residents who live near areas such as leash free parks to be on the lookout,” Mr Reeder said. He said it was more important than ever for dogs to be effectively controlled in leash-free areas. “Dogs must be able to come immediately when called, and respond to commands,” he said. Mulberry Lane Veterinary Clinic veterinarian Judith Carney said a dog could die as a result of ingesting snail bait. She said she had recently treated a dog that had ingested snail bait and it was lucky to survive. She said the dog suffered several seizures and required hospitalisation for three days before recovering. Dr Carney said leaving snail bait in areas frequented by dogs was criminal. “I think it’s a real worry,” she said. “Snail bait is palatable for dogs but it’s very toxic.” See your ad here Dr Carney warned people to be careful when walking their dogs. “I’d advise caution and recommend you just pop them on a lead"
  16. I remember seeing Oliver years ago and a Bull Terrier walked on the stage. Typical bully did nothing it was told to do and at the end the actor had to pick it up to walk around the stage. Was the funniest thing i have ever seen, such a Bully  At the end the Bully came out and everyone stood up and clapped for him, got a bigger reception than any of the actors!
  17. Ok. I know we got a letter Informing us that council were baiting rabbits. Will call council tomorrow and ask for some info to let customers know
  18. Are these the same baits council have laid for rabbits or baits someone has placed around?
  19. I used to feed nutro as atlas did really well on it. Now it's only kaos we are on RC mature. The cats are on RC oral and light mixed together. They do change around if there is a good special on. But I always go back to RC
  20. If I have to drive into the garage I pull up. Open the door, put the dog/s (when I had two) in the car and let them out when the door was shut. Kaos is actually trained to not come in the garage when the roller door is open, but it takes a second for something to happen and I would never forgive myself. I won't take a risk with a car and a dog.
  21. I hate dogs in front yards. Being 25 weeks pregnant with a fear aggressive dog, I can no longer walk her. Even just to get off my street I have to walk past at least two lots of fenced in dogs, so it's not a choice of walking a different direction. The worst is a swf who is horrible. The owner has been in the paper in regards to how great the dog is because it will attack a person. Kaos gets better every day, but if there is a new dog in a front yard she will pull me over. I hate that I have to wait for someone to come help me before I can take her for a walk I think part of being a responsible dog owner is making sure your dog is not annoying others. There is no way I would allow my dogs access to a front yard. If I was on a corner block I would look at putting a second fence up to keep my dogs away from the main one
  22. Yep. Dog fine here.. It's the 12 month old cat that I'm worried about. This year it's my tree with the cheapest decorations I can find on it. No way am I putting my good decorations on!!
  23. I've had many dogs and cats desexed and never had one stay over night
  24. Kaos has cracked two teeth. One was removed because the nerve was exposed, the other the vet was happy to leave. That was about 4 years ago and the removal and the other cracked tooth don't worry her at all, you wouldn't even know. If it starts to bug her I will get it removed
  25. Yeah. I have my dog to protect me.. When she isn't bring scared by a random school bag!!
