I don't know, some dogs don't seem to have much loyalty to specific people and would go with anyone, while others have clear favourites.

We put Ryan to sleep yesterday
-
We put Ryan to sleep yesterday. It was a long time coming and something everyone was kind of expecting but it's still always horrible. Mark adopted Ryan about 7 years ago from Victorian Collie Rescue. Don't know too much about him other than he was an ex show dog who found himself in rescue. Because of his own adoption, Ryan subsequently lived through about 15 other Collie foster dogs living in his house through the years because his dad became a Collie nut. I've only lived with Ryan for the last 3 years but he was seriously one of a kind. While the other Collies here are a bit nuts and excitable, Ryan just took everything in his stride. He was obsessed with food and would just take it, no matter where it was or what he had to do to get it. He would position himself in front of the heater without fail if it was on, he would just walk straight under tables and through chairs to get to food, and then just get stuck and stand there waiting! He was a total boof head, extremely stubborn, and wasn't exactly an angel in his younger years, but he was very loyal, and nothing really describes him better than his registered name "Braveheart". He leaves behind some totally devastated kids and adults and even a perplexed cat, and he will be missed a lot more than I think any of us realised.
